    How many feet or how much area does it cover?
    A
    The amount of area the SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System will depend on how much tubing you are attaching to the unit. You can use up to 90 ft of tubing (two 45 ft tubes) per the manufacturer.

    How far off the ground should you place the SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System?
    A

    Preferably, you want the nozzles of the SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System to be at least 5- 6 feet off the ground per the manual.  The unit itself should just be placed on the ground.

    What is the coverage area of each nozzle on the SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System?
    How much area (or square footage) does this product cover? I will be putting it along my 45' deck, in a straight line.

    The SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System will spray out about 6 feet per manufacturer, and will the unit will roughly cover aobut 7000 sq. ft. 14,000 sq. ft with the extension kit.

    I have a open backyard with no fence and plan to install the unit on the along the back of the house and around the sides only. I was wondering if i would have the same protection if I had a fenced in yard.

    The SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System is designed to allow you to customize the area you want to create a bug free zone.  However, it should be set up around the area you are wanting to protect instead of the around the home. The unit has been supplied with 45 feet of tubing you should use a minimum of 15 nozzles per the manual

    I wanted to extend the tubing along my fence line. What is the max amount of tubing can I attach to the mosquito system?

    The maximum amount of tubing that can be used with the Solamist Mosquito and Insect Misting System is 90 ft.

    How does the SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System control insects? Immediate knock down or residual?
    Would you use this everyday to keep them at bay? Would it be just as good to use it a day or two before a party?

    The SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System should be used regularly to keep the population down. Most misting system solutions will not offer a residual only a knockdown. We do carry products that will offer a residual to the area using a sprayer. Please read our Mosquito Control Article for helpful tips on treatment.

    Will solar mist pollute vegetables?
    I've vegetable in the yard. Will it be safe for vegetables?.

    We apologize but this is a new unit to our inventory and we are not sure of all the details for use with the product yet. The concentrate that comes with it says it is a completely natural spray for use in all outdoor areas with no hazard concerns. However before spraying over edibles we would suggest contacting the manufacturer Remington Solar at 214-257-8300

    Can I string this line of nozzles around a front porch that we sit on?
    We cannot even sit on the porch because mosquitos will eat you alive. Even now that it is getting colder they are still active!

    Yes, the SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System can be strung around your home. Per the manufacturer, you may not want to put it right by your front door where you are exiting and entering.

    Yes, the SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System does not have a plug in charger. It is only powered by your solar panel which stores electricity in the battery.

    Best misting solution for mosquitoes for a SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System?
    I am trying to figure if there is a better product for the Solamist that won't clog the nozzles other than the one they provide. I live in south Florida and the spray goes around my back yard landscape/pool area I have children and small dogs.

    Per the Solamist Mosquito and Insect Misting System Owners manual: You may also use Riptide, a pyrethrum-based product which is also effective at killing mosquitoes. Pyrethrum, a derivative of the chrysanthemum flower, also has very low toxicity. If you use your SolaMist infrequently, you may want to agitate the Riptide solution in your SolaMist reservoir with a clean stick occasionally.  

    The SolaMist Pro Concentrate does also have surfactants and other cleaners in the formula which will keep the nozzles clean whereas others do not, for this reason the manufacturer recommends it as the best product to use in their system.

    The SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System has a 12-gallon tank, and you can control the spray schedule completely by using the new app for the system. Each 16 oz bottle of SolaMist Pro concentrate will fill the SolaMist tank 4 times or 1 x 55 gallon tank in a more traditional system. The exact length of time a tank lasts will depend on your spray schedule, but this generally ranges from about 7-21 days.

    SolaMist Mosquito and Insect Misting System is meant for outdoor areas only, not for use in barns.  The Pyranha SprayMaster Barn Misting System is a preferred option for barns.
