There are various reasons why Solitare Herbicide cannot be sold to certain states such as a state restriction or the product is not registered in the state by the manufacturer.
Solitare Herbicide is labeled to suppress torpedograss in centipede lawns, but may not eradicate it completely. Most of the herbicides on the market will only suppress the torpedograss for a short time. It is recommended to spot treat the torpedo grass with a non-selective herbicide such as Round Up Quick Pro and then reseed or sod in the treated areas.
Solitare Herbicide contains active ingredients which could harm desirable ornamental plants like your flowers or boxwoods, so you should avoid spraying these plants directly or allowing overspray to contact them. You can use plastic sheeting to shield these plants, if necessary. Be sure to spray on a calm day, as well.
Per the product label: Solitare Herbicide controls goosegrass when applied as a post-emergent to newly emerged weeds in the 1-4 leaf stage of development, so timing is key.
Solitare Herbicide should be used within 24 hours of mixing with water.
Solitare Herbicide has been found to be compatible with most herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and growth regulators commonly used in turf and ornamental plant management. Please follow the Tank Mixing Procedures on the Solitare product label and the herbicide you are mixing it with.
No Solitare Herbicide is not labeled to kill horsenettle and unfortunately, the only option for treating horsenettle in residentail lawns is going to be spot treating with a non selective like Roundup Quick Pro and reseeding the lawn after 2 weeks.
If you are treating Range-land, Permanent Grass Pastures or Wildlife Management Areas, GrazonNXT is labeled to control horsenettle at the rate of 19-34 fl oz per acre (43,560 sq ft). Please review the product label for more information.
The use of a surfactant is to recommended when using Solitare Herbicide as injury or turf discoloration can occur.
Per the product label for Solitare Herbicide: Reseeding, overseeding or sprigging of treated areas within one (1) month after application of this product could inhibit the establishment of desirable turfgrasses. Overseeding of bermudagrass with perennial ryegrass at two (2) to four (4) weeks after an application can be done if slight injury to perennial ryegrass can be tolerated.
The 1lb container of Solitare Herbicide will treat up to 1 acre or 43,560 sq feet. The application rate advised per the product label is 0.367 - 0.478 oz in atleast 1 gallon of water every 1,000 sq. ft
Please view the Solitare Herbicide product label for more information.
