Product Overview

Specticle FLO is a pre-emergent that controls all major weeds with superior residual control of crabgrass, poa annua, annual sedge, and goosegrass. The residual activity of Specticle FLO lasts for up to 8 months all while using less active ingredients than competitve products.

Specticle FLO is a selective, preemergence alkylazine herbicide for use on warm season turfgrasses. It is not intended for post emergent application. Specticle FLO controls many annual grasses including crabgrass, goosegrass, annual bluegrass, annual sedges, and broadleaf weeds in turf, ornamentals (residential), hedgerows, hardscapes, Christmas trees, and conifers. Specticle FLO can be used only on established turf in areas including golf courses (roughs, tees, and fairways), sod farms, sports fields, lawns, both home and commercial, parks and cemeteries. Specticle FLO controls weeds by reducing the emergence of seedlings through inhibition of cellulose biosynthesis (CB Inhibitor). Necrosis or yellowing may be observed if the herbicide is applied to herbaceous tissue such as leaves and green stems of susceptible plants. Specticle FLO does not control tubers, rhizomes, bulbs, corms, existing rootstocks, and woody vegetation.

The herbicide needs to be activated prior to weed germination for most effective control. For maximum activity against germinating weeds, Specticle FLO requires rainfall or irrigation prior to weed germination. For use on sod farms, golf courses, and non-crop areas (excluding lawns), do not apply within 25 feet of ponds, lakes, rivers, streams, wetlands, and habitat containing aquatic and semi-aquatic plants.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

SPECTICLE FLO is a selective, pre-emergent alkylazine herbicide. SPECTICLE FLO provides extended residual control of many annual grasses including crabgrass, goosegrass, and annual bluegrass, as well as annual sedges, and broadleaf weeds in turf, landscape ornamentals, and hardscapes. SPECTICLE FLO also demonstrates limited early post-emergent activity against some weeds, including annual bluegrass, crabgrass, and oxalis.

SPECTICLE FLO is also used only on established turf in areas including golf courses (roughs and fairways), sod farms, sports fields, residential and commercial lawns, parks, and cemeteries.

SPECTICLE FLO controls weeds by reducing the emergence of seedlings through inhibition of cellulose biosynthesis (CB Inhibitor). Necrosis or chlorosis may be observed if the herbicide is applied to herbaceous tissue such as leaves and green stems of susceptible plants including sensitive ornamentals. SPECTICLE FLO does not control plants emerging from tubers, rhizomes, bulbs, corms, existing rootstocks, and woody vegetation. SPECTICLE FLO suppresses the development of some additional hard-to-control weeds.

SPECTICLE FLO needs to be activated prior to weed germination for most effective control. For maximum activity against germinating weeds, SPECTICLE FLO requires rainfall or irrigation prior to weed germination.

SPECTICLE FLO is a highly active herbicide that provides effective weed control when applied to the soil around many field grown woody ornamentals. SPECTICLE FLO may damage sensitive plants, if the product is allowed to remain in contact with foliage. Carefully apply SPECTICLE FLO in strict accordance to the label.

Non-staining, low odor product that controls over 75 different grassy and broadleaf weeds.

Q
How much do you mix per gallon for use in a tank sprayer?

I read the label on how much to use on an acre, but for those of us with tank sprayers I would prefer to know an amount of product per gallon of water.

A
As with most herbicides the exact volume of water is not very important, you just need to be sure you are getting the correct amount of product on a specific area. Specticle FLO may be applied at different rates depending on the turf you are spraying on and the weeds you are trying to control. If you are using the highest rate of 10oz per acre, it breaks down to roughly 0.23 oz of Specticle per 1000 sq/ft in no less than 1-2 gallons of water for full and even application. The thing you have to keep in mind is that the water is the carrier with herbicides, not the diluter. So whether you mix the .23oz of Specticle in 1 gallon and spread it over 1000 sq/ft, or in 5 gallons over a 1000 sq/ft, both are correct. For maximum weed control with broadcast applications, add non-ionic surfactant

Q
What is the difference among these herbicides: Specticle G Herbicide, Specticle FLO, and Specticle 20 WSP Pre-Emergent ?

I'm looking for a long lasting herbicide. If it is a pre and post emergent product will be great, no matter the price

A

Specticle G Herbicide, Specticle FLO, and Specticle 20 WSP are all different versions of the same active ingredient, Indaziflam, and would be comparable.  G is for granules, FLO is a liquid and WSP is water soluble packets. The WSP form is no longer available.  Either the G or FLO would be good options to use but will only prevent weeds from emerging and will not affect actively growing weeds.

Q
Do I use Specticle FLO as I do Prodiamine with a split application two times a year?
A

No, Specticle FLO is a pre emergent herbicide that can only be used once in a 12 month time period.

Q
What is the timing of applying Specticle FLO?

If I apply in Fall, it tells to follow up with another treatment 45-90 days later. If you do that, will there be a need to re-apply a pre emergent in the spring?

A
The need for a spring application of a pre-emergent is almost always needed, but it truly is going to be dependent on the weeds you are primarily looking to prevent and when they germinate the most in your area. You can often consult with your local cooperative extension office or local master gardner to find out when the weeds you are looking to target germinate in your area for a better idea of application intervals that will best suit your needs for thorough application and results.

Q
How long will Spectical Flo last in a 200 gallon tank after its mixed?
A

You should use your Specticle Flo within 24 hours of mixing it in the tank.   Per their label: Mix the amount of Specticle FLO needed for immediate application needs. Settling can occur if the spray mixture is allowed to sit over an extended period of time. Re-agitate the spray solution before application.
