Specticle G Herbicide, Specticle FLO, and Specticle 20 WSP are all different versions of the same active ingredient, Indaziflam, and would be comparable. G is for granules, FLO is a liquid and WSP is water soluble packets. The WSP form is no longer available. Either the G or FLO would be good options to use but will only prevent weeds from emerging and will not affect actively growing weeds.
No, Specticle FLO is a pre emergent herbicide that can only be used once in a 12 month time period.
You should use your Specticle Flo within 24 hours of mixing it in the tank. Per their label: Mix the amount of Specticle FLO needed for immediate application needs. Settling can occur if the spray mixture is allowed to sit over an extended period of time. Re-agitate the spray solution before application.
Specticle FLO is a tan liquid concentrate that does have a characteristic odor. I have included the MSDS and Product Label for additional detailed information on the product.
Specticle FLO should be irrigated within two days of application. We would recommend re-applying the product and watering it in within the specified time period.
As long as both product labels are followed for rates and instructions there should be no issue using Specticle FLO with an insecticide.
Specticle FLO is only labeled for use on Warm Season Turfgrasses only such as Bermudagrass, Zoysiagrass, Centipedegrass, St. Augustine, Buffalo, and Bahiagrass. The product label does not list Carpetgrass as a tolerant turf type therefore we would not recommend using on Carrpetgrass or without doing a small test application to see if your lawn would be tolerant. You can also contact the manufacturer, Bayer for confirmation at 1-800-331-2867.
Per the product label for Specticle FLO, the following types of Zoysia are listed as tolerant, -Cavalier, Crowne, DeAnza, El Toro, Empire, GNZ, Jamar, Meyer, Palisades, Zenith, Zeon - with the label stating, "Before making a large scale application to a cultivar not listed on this label, treat a small area of turf with SPECTICLE FLO to assess acceptable turf tolerance".
We highly recommend reading the entire product label for complete application instructions prior to treating, and using as directed.
According to the Spectical FLO Product Label it may be used on dormant turf. The user should assess the condition of turf prior to dormancy.
If you applied an herbicide like Specticle FLO on an area that is not tolerant of the herbicide, then you will want to water the area very well and avoid other stress on those plants. If you have activated charcoal on hand, then you can use that immediately after application to help neutralize the herbicide, although this usually has to be done very quickly to have any effect. If the non-target plants are stressed but may recover, you may be able to use Renova to help them recover.
Specticle FLO can last at least 6 months at the 6 oz rate.
Specticle FLO is a pre-emergent only and would not harm turfgrass when used as directed on the product label. That being said, the label does specify: Do not apply SPECTICLE FLO to golf course greens, tees, or collars.
Specticle FLO, was discontinued by the manufacturer therefore no longer available for us to carry in our inventory.
Specticle FLO should be able to be mixed with Roundup. We advise you conduct a small jar test to make sure they mix well together and follow the most restrictive label for both products.
The residual of the active ingredient Indaziflam in soil is longer than Dithopyr, the active ingredient in Dimension therefore applying before the recommended 16 months advised time frame could inhibit, slow or damage the growth of the bermuda sod.
Since we no longer carry Specticle FLO, we would recommend contacting Bayer directly at 1-866-99-BAYER for your special application question.
