    Q
Should I use Speedzone Southern or Speedzone Red?
I am going to be using this on my bermuda lawn only. It is mostly common bermuda but does have some spots of hybrid bermuda as well where it has been sodded. Is one better than the other for my grasses? I live in Oklahoma and am not sure if I should use the southern for that reason.
    A

Either SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate (Red) or SpeedZone Southern could be used on bermuda.  They are both labeled safe for this turf type.  SpeedZone Southern is currently discontinued though as they are working on a new formulation.

    Q
If SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer gets within the drip line of a fruit tree, how long must I wait to harvest the fruit?
I had someone spray my yard. He sprayed around the fruit trees and stayed out of the drip zone however when he rinsed out his sprayer, water runoff flowed towards one of my fruit trees. The runoff did not get within drip zone or under the canopy but close. I plan on throwing the fruit this year away but will I be able to harvest the fruit next year.
    A

We would recommend contacting the manufacturer directly for the affects of any runoff or overspray to fruits or vegetables after applying SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate. The product label does not mention a time frame if accidental applications occur until fruit/vegetables can be harvestedIn general, we recommend applications stay atleast 15ft away from edibles and outside the dripline or canopy.

Per the product label, do not allow spray to drift onto vegetables, flowers, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees and other desirable plants since injury may result.

    Q
Can I mix Speedzone and a SedgeHammer packet in the same gallon sprayer?
    A

SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate would not recommended to tank mix with the SedgeHammer+ as it contains a surfactant which is required to use.  The Speedzone does not need one and adding one can reduce selectivity on your turfgrass type.

    Q
Is speed zone safe to use around pink muhly grass?
Looking to kill bindweed and spurge that's has invaded my pink muhly
    A

SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate is not labeled safe to apply to ornamentals, and flowers and we would there for not recommend applying it to pink muhly grass. It would likely cause damage.  Typically around ornamentals you will need to hand pull the weeds or directly spot spray with a non selective herbicide avoiding any contact with desriables.

    Q
Will SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer kill spreading ornamental grass without killing the grass?
    A

Speedzone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate is designed to target broadleaf weeds specifically. If any ornamental grasses would be harmed by it, it would typically be purely coincidental as its not labeled for targeting that type of plant. You should exercise caution when using around anything desirable such as flowers, shrubs, etc.

    Q
How soon is it safe to eat fruit from a citrus tree where SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer had been sprayed close by?
    A

SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate is not labeled as safe for applications to any type of edible vegetation.  If this product has contacted your fruit tree, or any of the fruit itself, that fruit should be discarded and a wait time of one year is generally recommended before eating any fruit from that tree.

However, we advise contacting the manufacturer directly for technical support in this matter.  PBI Gordon can be reached by either calling 816-421-4070, or by visiting their website's contact page.

    Q
Will SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate kill the seed of hairy bittercress?
    A

SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate is a post-emergent that will only kill actively growing weeds and not the seeds, unfortunately, it is not labeled to help control hairy bittercress.

Instead, you can use Ferti-lome Weed-Out Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec which is labeled to help control actively growing hairy bittercress. Please review the product label for complete application instructions.

Next fall, you can use Gallery 75 DF Specialty Herbicide as a pre-emergent to control hairy bittercress.

    Q
Can SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer be used to kill poison ivy in my lawn and perennial vinca landscape?
    A

SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate can be used to kill poison ivy in tolerant turfgrasses as listed on the product label however cannot be used in or around ornamental flowers/plants as injury may occur.

To control broadleaf weeds in landscape beds or around ornamentals, it would be spot treating the weeds directly with a non selective herbicide like Roundup QuickPRO avoiding any contact with desirable plants.
