Just received my 50 lb. order. The types of seed are: 1. 30 % Nightcrawler tall fescue; 2. 30% Crossfire 4 tall fescue; 3. 20% Garnet creeping red fescue; 4. 10% Longfellow 3 Chewings fescue; 5. 10% Spartan II hard fescue. Based upon my self research into these varieties, I am very pleased with the mix and can't wait to oversees and report on the results. Thanks for your service.

Yes, you can mix two cool season turf grass blends such as 5 Star Fescue Extreme Shade Mix and Pennington Annual Ryegrass. If Fescue is the main turf grass desired, be sure your Fescue to Rye ratio favors more on the fescue side.
Fescue is a cool season turf so may have trouble thriving in your climate. We recommend that you consult with your local county cooperative extension office Master Gardener for information on seeding and which will work best in your area.

I have a shady lawn facing north.
The best way to determine what grass seed would grow and establish well in your area would be to speak to someone at your Local Master Gardener center for what will thrive in your weather and environments conditions.
