Surflan Pro Herbicide should be used 2-4 weeks after the bulbs have been planted but before weeds are due to emerge. For fall bulbs, apply Surflan Pro again in the late winter and early spring to weed free soil surfaces.
Yes, Surflan Pro can stain rocks or concrete, so you would want to apply it very carefully in areas where this is a concern. It is best not to apply on a windy day, and if some does get on any rocks or concrete, you will need to rinse immediately with plenty of water to try to avoid any staining.
Vetch is not on the Surflan Pro label, so while it certainly could stop the germination and the vetch from emerging, we cannot say for sure since it has not been tested. We couldn't find vetch on the product label of any other pre emergents either so you may want to check with your local ag department or cooperative extension office to see what others in your area may be using for vetch control.
Surflan Pro Herbicide will stain the pavers. A better option may be to use a vegetation management product, such as TVC Total Vegetation Control, in that area. This will kill weeds and prevent them from coming up for up to a year. If you applied Surflan in that area, you can put the sand down after the application.
Surflan Pro Herbicide is not labeled for tumbleweed. A great option for tumbleweed pre-emergent control would be Casoron 4G Herbicide. You can apply it either in early spring before seeds of annual weeds germinate or afer cultivation has removed the growing weeds. Distribute granules uniformly over the soil surface. If treatment is followed by application of 1/2 to 1 inch of water by overhead irrigation, the lower rates are recommended. Shallow incorporation immediately after application is recommended in southern areas. In other areas, shallow incorporation or sprinkler irrigation is suggested when applications are made during periods of high temperature. This product can be applied in late fall to prevent weeds as well.
No Surflan Pro Herbicide (Oryzalin 40.4%) must be mixed with water before using and applied within 24 hours of mixing, it cannot be applied through any type of irrigation system.

Areas that were treated with Surflan Pro Herbicide could be disturbed by raking if done so heavily. Usually it is best to rake before applying to prevent any issue. Just be sure the area was watered in after applying and allowed to dry and if needed later you can lightly rake.
Surflan Pro Herbicide (Oryzalin 40.4%) is applied at 0.75 - 4 qt. per acre. The water in this case is just a carrier and you need to use enough water to make sure you get even coverage and to make sure you are getting the correct amount of product over the size area you are spraying.
Yes, Surflan Pro Herbicide can be used to control sandburs.
Gly Pho-Sel Pro is going to kill or affect any plants that you spray with it, while the Surflan is a pre-emergent that is safe to use around established trees. So if you are mixing these two, then you would still have to spot treat the existing weeds very carefully so that you do not spray any leaves, stems, roots, etc. of desirable plants. This could then result in spotty pre-emergent control from the Surflan since you would not be able to apply it over much of the area. Since the Gly Pho-Sel Pro is non-selective, we would not recommend mixing these products in an area that includes desirable plants.
No, Surflan Pro Herbicide (Oryzalin 40.4%) will not control Burweed/Spurweed. Pendulum 3.3 EC would be better option.
We apologize but are not familiar with the Hudson brand sprayers but Surflan Pro Herbicide (Oryzalin 40.4%) can be used in any standard pump or backpack sprayer when used as directed on the product label which does state vigorous continuous agitation is required.
With pre emergent hericides it is ALL about timing. While you may still be able to get some weed prevention by putting it down now, pre emergents when used in the spring need to be down well before soil temperatures reach 55 degrees. They can also be used in the fall for winter germinating weeds around September. Once weeds have started to come up only a post emergent product will control those as you see them. Surflan Pro Herbicide is a great pre emergent and should help with preventing most weeds in your yard.
According to page 4 of the SDS, Surflan Pro Herbicide (Oryzalin 40.4%) has a “slight aromatic” odor.
Surflan Pro could be used to help prevent the listed weeds from growing in the area. Another option would be to use a vegetation management product such as TVC or Pramitol which kill anything currently growing (if any) as well as prevent anything from growing in the area for up to 1 year.
