FOR CONTROL OF SCORPIONS
To ensure optimum control, treat the building perimeter at dusk to prevent outdoor scorpions from entering the building. Scorpions reside hidden in cracks and voids during the day and are active at night at temperatures above 77ºF/25ºC. Resting areas can be identified at night using a blacklight (UV bulb) as scorpions will fluoresce. These areas should also be treated. Prior to treatment, to increase treatment efficacy, remove trash, debris, or firewood that scorpions may use as resting sites.

Talstar PL Granules
By Manuel on 05/04/2010
I always had problems with ants but could not get rid of them. I was told about Talstar PL from a professional who had great success with the product. I purchased a 25lb bag and spread it as instructed, the next day I went and checked on the ant piles and low and behold the ants were at the top of the mound DEAD. I haven't had any ant piles or ants in my yard for 7 months. I just bought my second bag, I figure with all the rain here in South Louisiana it was time to retreat. GREAT Stuff.

Talstar Granules with Ants & Cinch bugs
By William on 09/21/2010
A great product to be used in Florida. There is not an ant or cinch bug present in my yard after the treatment. Comparable services from companies like Chem Lawn will cost you up to $120.00 for a product like this. The granules were easy to spread and the smallest package available from this website covered about 1/4 acre lot. I was impressed with product and service.

Mix with sand before spreading
By John on 05/11/2013
I have used this product the past four years. I use it every spring before the fire ants get bad. And every fall just before winter to prevent spiders and all the other critters from coming in my home. This product is very fine like sand so a spreader will disperse it very quickly. I find it much easier to apply this product with a push type spreader. Before I put it in the spreader I mix it 50/50 with some dry sand. And then put my spreader on its lowest setting. ( sand must be dry or it will clump. For best results open the bag a few days before you plan to use it and stir the sand around twice a day)

Talstar
By Ethan on 05/23/2010
I applied the Talstar PL Granules @ 2-3 weeks ago. The ants appeared to have been killed. I am cautious to say this as I am waiting for the real hot summer weather as this is when they become very active. Never the less I have 50 lbs left over so I can apply when I need it. I hope that the ants have left me as I have a very large infestation in my lower yard. Thank you and I will be contacting you soon when I need more Talstar. I have not had to use the liquid yet. P.S The ordering and the service from you was fantastic. I received my items @ 3 days from when I ordered. The free freight sure is a big bonus!!!

What are the main differences between this product and TalstarXTRA? Im trying to decide on a good all around insecticide solution for my backyard
The Talstar PL granules is the original formulation and is very fine, so that is probably what you used before. The Talstar XTRA Granules have 2 active ingredients for faster knockdown and longer residual, plus a larger granule for easier spreading, less dust, and more even coverage. For the small additional cost, I recommend the Talstar XTRA for most applications because of these improvements.
Talstar PL should not be used in places where the chickens may feed. You may want to consider Talstar P instead. The chickens should be kept out of the area while the product is being applied, but they can safely return once everything is dry.
Ground bees, also known as digger bees, can be very difficult to control no matter what product you use and they most likely will come back to your property year after year unless you do your part to alter your property to make it unfavorable to the bees. Ground bees prefer dry soils with thin grasses so irrigating the area frequently and correcting any issue that causes your grass to be thin will help deter the bees from nesting. In areas where you do not have grass, a layer of mulch will help deter the bees from nesting. Ground bees are solitary bees and are not very aggressive and are known to be a beneficial insect which is why you will not find any products specifically labeled for this type of bee. For current infestations, you would need to use Delta dust in each individual burrow.
This be used in KBG in Nebraska? Have problems with ants and crickets.
Talstar PL Granular Insecticide can be used on any grass type safely as it is only an insecticide. It is recommended to apply early morning or late evening though & not during the hottest time of the day
Talstar PL Granular Insecticide is not labeled for fire flys
Talstar PL Granular Insecticide is mixed at 1.15-4.6 lbs per 1k square feet depending on the pest. So a 25 lb bag will yield between 21.74 - 5.43 square feet depending on what rate you broadcast it at
Talstar PL is It is safe against non-target animals such as birds, pets, and other mammals.
Talstar PL Granular Insecticide need to be watered 1/2 inch to activate.
Talstar PL granules is not labeled to be used for carpenter ants. We recommend the Talstar XTRA Granular instead as it is labeled for carpenter ants. Please feel free to go over our Carpenter Ant Treatment Guide for further information.
I would recommend spraying for any flying insects like mosquitos. Talstar P (Talstar One) is a good spray to use for general insecticide.
The active ingredient in Talstar PL granules is bifenthrin, which is a residual non-selective insecticide. The residual could harm non-target insects like bees if they were to come into contact with enough active ingredients for several weeks after application. However, since this is a granule insecticide that is applied directly to the ground and then activated with water, it is very unlikely any pollinators like bees would actually come into contact with the treated areas. The bigger risk would be from sprays, so we recommend applying sprays in the morning or evening when pollinators are less active, as well as avoiding spraying blooming plants to reduce the risk to pollinators.
Massive grub, cinchbug and mole cricket infestations on my lawns. I am going to Aerate and treat with Merit. In the mean time, will a broadcast spray over my lawn with Talstar SC work? I couldn't imagine it would hurt.
Neither Talstar P Professional Insecticide or Talstar PL Granular Insecticide are labeled for grubs. You would need a product with Imidacloprid in it.
Talstar PL Granular Insecticide is not specifically labeled for black widow spiders, so we cannot guarantee results, however, this product will likely kill the spiders that actually contact the treated area. Please take a moment to review our Black Widow Control Guide for more information and helpful tips on eradicating this pest.
I pay for a service currently and much prefer when they use the granular method. They prefer to spray. Looking to start my own management
Talstar PL is labeled to kill scorpions.
Yes, Talstar PL Granular Insecticide are labeled for crane flies. According to the product label, it should be used early to mid-season to control the larvae of crane flies. This application should be made between August-February during times when the ground is not frozen as they feed on plant crowns. If treatments are made in March-April, they may only provide suppression.
