We would not recommend treating the inside of the home with Talstar P for flea control. When used indoors, it is only labeled for a crack and crevice application. Talstar P should be used at the highest concentration of 1 oz of Talstar per gallon of water for bedbug treatments. According to the product label: "Thorough application should be made to crack and crevices where evidence of bed bugs occurs. This includes bed frames, box springs, inside empty dressers and clothes closets and carpet edges, high and low wall moldings and wallpaper edges. Do not use this product on bed linens, pillows, mattresses or clothes. Remove all clothes and other articles from dressers or clothes closets before application. Allow all treated areas to thoroughly dry before use. Not recommended for use as sole protection against bedbugs. If evidence of bedbugs is found in/on mattresses, use products approved for this use." As you can see the Talstar P manufacturers do not recommend that you use Talstar P by itself to get rid of bedbugs. Talstar P will kill stinkbugs. You should dilute one ounce of Talstar P per gallon of water. You will use a hand pump sprayer to apply the solution on all door frames, window frames, areas where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into the structure, a band of soil 6 to 10 feet adjacent to the structure, also to a height of 2 to 3 feet on the foundation where pests may be active or may find entrance. As the stink bugs crawl over the treated area, they will receive a lethal dose of the insecticide and usually die within a few hours. You should treat every month starting in August and ending in November for the best results.
Talstar P is only specifically labeled for clover mites and spider mites. It would be a good idea to get an identification of the mite species you are dealing with to be sure you choose the right product.
If you are spraying porous surfaces you would want to choose a product such as Demon WP. It will stay on the surface of porous areas allowing insects to come in contact with it a bit better. That being said, Demon WP also leaves a white powdery residue that is visible on dark surfaces. Talstar P is a concentrated liquid that is odorless, dries clear and is labeled for a huge variety of insects and areas making it a bit more versatile. If you need to spray plants, trees and siding Talstar P would be a great choice.
For control of larger roaches outdoors, you will usually see best results using a granule bait for the insects applied in areas such as under decks and porches and around landscaping. Niban Granular Bait is a great option for this application.
The Talstar P Professional Insecticide cannot be used in the Ryobi Battery Powered Mister/Fogger. Per Ryobi, commercial chemicals are not designed for use in that device, and Talstar cannot be run through any type of fogger whether thermal or cold fogger type. We would recommend you contact Ryobi to find out what insecticide solutions they recommend using in their equipment so as to not void any warranties or clog parts.
If the application of Talstar P Professional Insecticide had time to dry before the sprinklers went off, it should be ok. If you applied at the highest rate of 1 fl oz per gallon of water, you will need to wait 30 days before reapplying or 7 days if applied at the lower 0.25 fl oz per gallon rate was used.
The product label advises to apply when there is no rain or watering for at least 24 hours after the application.
No, Talstar P Professional Insecticide cannot be used to treat for insects around boats or over areas of water such as lakes, rivers, ponds, etc. Unfortunately, there aren't any insecticides that can be sprayed directly to the outside surface of the boat, as any ingredients they contain could possibly harm the finish on the boat itself. If you have a boat dock, you can spray it with Essentria IC3 which is safe for aquatic life and would be the closest water safe product to Talstar, and covers the same range of insects. Inside the boat itself you can use an aerosol like D-Force to treat crevices and areas under/around seats and places insects tend to hide.
Talstar P Professional Insecticide is a water-based chemical and will not cause corrosion to stainless steel or galvanized metal. Keep in mind that you should not apply this product directly to food, feed, water, or sources for food or water. You also cannot apply this in a way that would contact the animals or their food or water. Keep in mind that a good fly control program includes the use of multiple control measures such as baits and traps, in addition to insecticides.
For treating lawns, bushes, trees, shrubs and for exterior periemter foundation applications, a handpump sprayer, backpack sprayer or mist blower is recommended to apply Talstar P Professional Insecticide.
Per the product label, a hose end sprayer or watering can is only recommended if treating wood piles and stored lumber to deliver a coarse drenching spray. Treated wood can be burned as firewood or used for lumber one month after treatment.

Yes, Talstar P Professional Insecticide is one of the top choices for sod webworm control. Preventative or low level infestations are treated at 0.18 to 0.25 fl oz in 2 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft followed by ¼ inch of rainfall or irrigation to ensure the active ingredient gets into the subsurface soil layer. For heavy or severe infestations, apply at the 1 fl oz per 2 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft.
The manufacturer recommends to time applications to control young larvae, if possible. Spot treatments may be applied when infestations are first detected and the damaged area is small. The most effective treatment for active bed bug infestations would be using a combination of products as we have in one of our Bed Bug Kits. These kits are based on how many bedrooms you have and contain enough product for the initial application and 2-3 follow up treatments that are required for bes results. Repeat treatments should be done every 7-10 days until you can go 30 days without seeing any signs of bed bugs or without anyone getting bit.
