We do not recommend treating the inside of the home with Talstar P for flea control. It is a crack and crevice application indoors only. Fleas will be on the majority portion of the flooring and furniture. We recommendt that you treat with the products in our Indoor Flea Kit. Please take a few minutes to read our How to Get Rid of Fleas Article for more helpful information on eradication inside.
Camel spiders certainly look scary but are basically harmless. You can treat the exterior and interior of structures if needed with a product such as Talstar P. Talstar works well for spiders, scorpions and other invading pests. We usually would not recommend Termidor for spider control as it is a very slow acting insecticide.
Talstar P will treat scorpions and do a great job eliminating their food source so that they will leave the area for better hunting grounds. You want to mix at a rate of 1 oz to one gallon of water. Please see our Scorpion Control Page for more information about treating for this pest.
We do not recommend that you treat the cages with Talstar P and dish soap. You could use a cleaner and water to wash the pet cages. Talstar P is mixed with water and applied to the cracks and crevices indoors and other areas listed on the product label.
Talstar P is one of our most popular general pest control products that can be mixed with with water at 1 oz per gallon. It dries clear and is odorless. You will apply once a month to the exterior of the garage and other listed areas on the product label and quarterly to the interior crevices in the home and garage. It will eradicate crickets and over 75 other pests. Please see our Cricket Control page for additional information.
Talstar is often the go to product for interior plantscapes. The product is labaled for most plant infesting insects and can be used on plants indoors as long as they are non-edible.
The rate for Talstar P in a hose end sprayer would be the same as if you were using in a pump sprayer, 0.5 to 1 fl oz (1 - 2 tbsp) per gallon of water for low volume applications, or 0.5 -1.0 fl. oz. per 1,000 square feet in a higher volume of water.
It is recommended that Talstar P not be used within 3 feet or outside the drip zone of edibles, which ever one applies.
Yes, Talstar P can be used with a garden hose end sprayer. Be sure to change the settings on the hose end sprayer to ensure you are mixing the correct amount.
Per the Talstar P label, when applying mixed solution, the applicator needs to wear shirt, shoes, socks, pants and waterproof gloves. If applying in a non-ventilated area, applicator will need to wear a resperatory mask. You may look at our Basic Safety Kit for the necessary protective gear.
Talstar P is labeled to be sprayed around ornamentals and in landscaped areas. So it should be safe for the arborvitae that you are asking about. As with any new area of spraying we suggest that you do a small test area just to be sure that it is tolerant of the product before doing a complete broadcast over the entire area.
Talstar P (Talstar One) does not kill by transfer. Talstar P (Talstar One) will kill the bees after they contact the solution. This can take hours after contacting the treated area. It likley will not eliminate the entire nest. We would recommend a product like Delta Dust in which the adults will carry into the nest to the larvae.
