    Can you spray trees in the early spring that have caterpillars in them?
    Would you be able to make a dilution to be used in a pressure washer to reach high trees?

    You can start spraying when the caterpillars are young for best results. We recommend using the 1 fl oz of Talstar P per gallon of water ratio for the fastest knockdown and the longest lasting residual. As for using it in the pressure washer, we really cannot give any advice on that type of application as most insecticide (if not all) are not labeled for use in pressure washer.

    Looking for a DIY preventative pest control program.
    Pests seen in the past are silver fish and cock roaches.

    Our most popular general use product is called Talstar.  It is widely used by pest control companies because it is labeled for almost every insect you could have a problem with and you can use it outside the home as well as inside, it is odorless and very safe for use around children and pets.  It is a liquid concentrate that you mix with water in a one gallon hand pump sprayer.  It will last for 60 to 90 days outside in between treatments.  It is also labeled for lawn and ornamental use, and can be used on trees, plants, bushes and shrubs for all sorts of ornamental pests including Japanese beetles, mosquitoes, and other leaf eating pests.

    What to use to kill digger wasps that come in May and gone in June?
    They make many holes in the earth with mounds of soil around them in the lawn and garden. They do not seem to sting. They look like a small brown bee.
    A
    It sounds like they could possibly be Cicada Killers. To treat Cicada Killers, you can discourage the wasps from nesting in your yard by cutting your grass on the highest setting and by adding a thick layer of mulch to flower beds during the Cicada Killer Wasp season. These wasps do not like over saturated lawns either, so over watering during their season will help prevent them. Unfortunately, there is no fool proof way to prevent cicada killer wasps. For current infestations, you would need to use Delta dust in each individual burrow. Using a residual like Talstar P will also kill them when they come in contact with the treated areas.

    If the exterior of house is sprayed with Talstar, can you paint over it without the paint peeling?
    Or does it need to be washed off before painting?

    Should I use Talstar P to get rid of bird mites coming in through bathroom vent? I have removed the bird nest.
    I tried setting off a bugmax fogger and I still see them crawling around. I need help on what I should use to kill them asap...

    Talstar P is not labeled to treat for mites in general and would not be recommended.  For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use MotherEarth Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites.

    Can I mix Talstar with essentria ic3?

    Both Talstar and Essentria IC3 are residual sprays. We do not see why you would need to mix them together. Depending on what you are treating, you can mix in an insect growth regulator with either talstar or Essentria.

    You can spray Talstar around the exterior of the fountain for residual control. We would recommend using BTI Mosquito Dunks in the water. By using the Mosquito Dunks you are killing the larvae.

    Talstar P is not labeled for mites in general and would not be recommended for this use as it is specific to the types of mites it treats, ie spider and clover mites in/around homes and lawns and also mites in animal facilities only.  Onslaught which will give you a wider usage range indoors and is actually labeled for mites.     How do I get rid of what looks to be springtails in my tub and back door?

    Please check out our article "How to get Rid of Springtails" for a play by play for treating springtails. You REALLY want to make sure you are using a residual insecticide like Talstar P along the cracks and crevices, paying close attention to areas that may contain moisture. You also want to use a dust like Delta dust in wall voids.

    Help, with outside pest control?

    What is the best product for fleas infestation on dry lawn, dirt perimeter of house?
    What is the best flea fighter for outdoor use on dry lawn, dirt surrounding the house? Also, please advise a product for indoor use on carpet and bare floor.
    A
    The best products for flea control outdoors would be Talstar P mixed with NyGuard IGR. The Talstar is the insecticide that will kill the fleas and leave a residual, and the NyGuard is the birth control that will halt the infestation from growing. Mix these in your sprayer together with water and spray any areas outdoors where you are having a problem with fleas or any other insect. For indoor control, you would use Ultracide which is a flea aerosol. It comes ready to use and has both the adulticide and igr (birth control) to provide you with the same type of control indoors as you have outdoors. You will need to go through and vacuum all flooring and furniture prior to using the product. Once vacuumed, use the Ultracide to spray down all carpets, hardwoods, baseboards, rugs, pet bedding and furniture to eliminate the fleas. After application you will leave the home until the product has had time to dry which normally takes about an hour or so. Once dry, all pets, children and adults can re-enter the home and resume normal activity. You will need to vacuum daily for 14 days and then do a second application of the Ultracide.     Since you have tried baits and the ants are not taking it, we recommend to use a residual spray. We would recommend Talstar P. It works extremely well, dries clear, is non-staining and non-irritating, and you have a much wider usage area. Talstar can be sprayed around the foundation of the home, along walkways and driveways, on ornamentals/trees/lawns for insect control as well as indoors around baseboards and crevices. Please follow the product label for application.

    Talstar P is specifically labeled (page 4 of the product label) for a number of medically significant spiders including Black Widow, Brown Recluse and Hobo Spiders. It is important to remember that Talstar P does not give an immediate knockdown. It works over a period of several hours to kill spiders that have come into contact with the product.  You should also do your part by making your property less favorable to spiders.
