Talstar P is not labeled to treat for grubs. Dylox 6.2 would be an excellent alternative when treating for grubs that are actively feeding. Merit Granules or Dominion 2L also work well for grubs. We do have several products that are specifically labeled for grub worms on our website: Grub Worm Control. We also recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office and inquire about the best time to start treatments for grubs in your region.

The best way to keep insects out of the home is through thorough exclusion methods. This includes caulking cracks and crevices around window frames and door frames, sealing up gaps around pipes or wires that enter the home, patching any holes or gaps in soffits, siding or brick, checking and replacing weather stripping around doors, checking for holes in screens, etc. Even the best insecticides on the market are not going to absorb into an insects body faster than it could potentially crawl over that surface and make its way into a gap or crack in the home. Thorough and regular treatments around the perimeter of the home and yard will help reduce insect populations over time as well to keep the amount alive or present that could get into the home down to a minimum. Onslaught FastCap is a great solution for quicker knock down of initial insect populations when you treat, and provides a broad spectrum of insects it can control. Its residual is roughly 1-2 months per spray outdoors, and at least 3 -6 months indoors.
Depending on how much of the mixed solution of Talstar P Professional Insecticide contacted the mattress, we would recommend using an upholstery cleaner/mattress cleaner and blot up any damp areas. Allow damp areas to completely dry before putting linens on the bed or sleeping on the mattress.
For the headboard, this residual can be removed with warm soapy water.
For further questions, we would suggest contacting the manufacturer FMC directly at 800-321-1362.
