Product Overview

Tandem Insecticide is a powerful combination of thiamethoxam and lambda-cyhalothrin. Tandem Insecticide uses the combination of the two active ingredients to provide fast knock down and residual control of more than 90 pests. Use Tandem both indoors and outdoors from "cupboard to curb" in commercial, residential, and food-handling areas. Unique to Syngenta is iCAP microencapsulation technology providing the active ingredients protection against environmental conditions by using different sized capsules.

Tandem also provides systemic control of pests in plants using the active thiamethoxam. This active moves quickly into leaves where honeydew producing pests like aphids, scales, and whiteflies feed killing those pests and in turn limiting the supply of food for other pests such as ants.

Details

In the State of New York, this product may only be applied for indoor uses.

Tandem contains a Group 3A insecticide (lambda-cyhalothrin, belonging to the pyrethroid class of chemistry) and a Group 4A insecticide (thiamethoxam, belonging to the neonicotinoid class of chemistry). Insect biotypes with acquired or inherent resistance to Group 3A or Group 4A insecticides may eventually dominate the insect population if Group 3A or Group 4A insecticides are used repeatedly as the predominant method of control for targeted species. This may result in partial or total loss of control of those species by Tandem or other Group 3A or Group 4A insecticides.

    not for uneducated use

    By Brandon on 09/13/2013

The poor reviews on this product are based on lack of knowledge and understanding of the chemical and molecular properties of tandem. Tandem is demand CS with an added insecticide. THERE IS NO "CURE-ALL" SPRAY! Spray means nothing. Application and procedure is what matters most. The "smell" is very, very minimal. Like a weak paint thinner. The smell is the detergent in the chemical known as an emulsifier. That allows the oils of the product to bind with water. Before applying ANY chemical to ANYTHING regarding bed bugs, you MUST at LEAST consult information provided by universities such as Perdue, Kentucky, and the like . You MUST also be patient, for the insect has 5 cycles in life. Tandem is an excellent product. Top grade. Pest control has become indescribably better thanks to syngenta, Zoecon, and Bayer. I'd throw BASF in there, but they didn't produce termidor. They bought it from bayer

Q
I have a Taexx system. How do I use it without hiring a pest company?
A

We do sell products like Optigard Flex and Tandem that can be used in the system, but nothing to technically service it. You would want to try and locate the manufacturer of the system or a local company that has the equipment to service the system for you.

Q
How long does Tandem last outdoors?

How long does it last outdoors? Does the stronger rate make it last longer?

A
Tandem will hold like most other insecticides outdoors which is anywhere from 30-90 days depending on the elements in the area and how they effect it. The stronger rate on the label will provide a quicker knockdown for heavier infestations and can help provide a stronger product for longer on the surface.
