For treating an attic the best product to use would be the Boracare. It can be mixed with water and applied with a paint brush or a pump sprayer directly to any raw wood surface you have access to in the attic. The Boracare will soak into the wood and dry and last for the life of the wood.
For hard to reach areas, using Premise Foam or Fuse Foam will expand inside wall voids, cracks crevices and transfer throughout the colony after the termites/ants have come into contact with it.
Yes, Taurus SC does need to be applied directly to the tree with a sprayer since this is more controlled than just pouring solution into the tree stump.
Taurus SC Termiticide is only labeled to be used as an outdoor application, and also only up against a structure as well. It can be used indoors for spot treatments only for termite activity, but other than that the product is just not labeled to be used in that manner.
No, unfortunately we do not carry any funnels that can be used to apply Taurus SC Termiticide. A funnel from your local hardware store should suffice.
Taurus SC can be sprayed around a structure, so you can spray around the "perimeter" of the pool, if it's above ground. Also, you can spray around the perimeter of your home but it can't be sprayed as a broadcast application. If you want to use something that can be broadcasted unto your turf and ornamentals, you can use something like Tempo SC Ultra and/or use a bait such as Maxforce Quantum Ant Bait. Please read over our Ant Treatment Guide for further info and tips.
No, Taurus SC Termidicide will not affect turf grass at all if used according to the directions on the product label.
Taurus SC Termiticide can harm honey bees and other bees if they contact a treated surface long enough to receive a lethal dose or if sprayed during application. To avoid this you can apply early in the morning or later in the evening when they are less active and less likely to be in the area.
Taurus SC is not labeled for fleas. Fleas tend to live in moist shady areas out in the yard where pets or other animals spend a lot of time resting. Taurus SC however is only labeled to be used in very limited areas on or immediately next to the house or structure making it mostly ineffective for flea treatments. We recommend you use our Outdoor Flea & Tick Kit to get rid of fleas in and around your home. You should use a topical flea product that is labeled for use on animals such as Petcor if you are trying to also rid your pets of fleas.
Yes, Taurus SC is extremely toxic to honey bees and bee populations and should be not used in any areas you are trying to either raise bees or have a large population you are concerned with effecting. Although the Taurus is only for use around the structure and foundation of the home if a bee lands on it in those areas it will die from it and has the ability to spread it to other bees. If you are using Taurus as a trench application for termites it should not be an issue, however if you are using it as a foundation and entry point spray on the home the risk does increase greatly.
Taurus SC Termiticide cannot be used on around edible vegetation. He is a list of our products offered for treatment on Edibles.
Yes, Taurus SC can be applied directly to trees and shrubs if there are active termites or carpenter ants in the plant. You can treat the galleries directly.
Taurus SC is only labeled to be applied right up against a structure and cannot be broadcast across the lawn. To treat ants in the lawn, we would recommend using something like the Advance 375A ant bait granules. This type of ant bait granule can be broadcast all over your yard or you can use it on individual mounds and it is labeled for most ants. Using ant bait is beneficial because (unlike sprays that only kill the ants you see), ants consume the bait and carry it back to the nest, feeding it to all the other ants including the queen, getting rid of the entire colony.
Taurus SC Termiticide is only used for outdoors, because it's only labeled for outdoor used except for indoors as spot treatment. For roaches, we recommend using Roach Rotation Kit A. Roach Control Kit Rotation A is ideal for beginning or cleanout treatments of cockroach infestations in homes, apartments, and similar areas. This kit contains the chemical products we recommend using after you have been able to Inspect the treatment area and take Preventative measures such as eliminating food and water sources and harborage areas. Using all these techniques together is crucial for effective Roach Treatment. Our Roach Control Kits include Catchmaster 100i Insect Monitor glue boards to help monitor your infestation and treatment. Maxforce FC Magnum is a powerful roach bait gel that contains five times the active ingredient as regular Maxforce FC roach bait, killing roaches by ingestion, contact, and transfer from one to another. Gentrol Point Source Stations are a convenient and discreet way to apply the Insect Growth Regulator hydroprene, effectively interrupting roaches’ breeding. Cyzmic CS is an insecticide concentrate with two powerful active ingredients, providing both a quick initial kill and long-lasting residual treatment. Glue boards are a simple tool for monitoring roach activity before, during, and after treatment.
Taurus SC is not labeled to treat for fire ant control. Please review our How to Treat for Fire Ants Page for recommendations on using granules for broadcast or mound applications and also how to use a liquid insecticide such as Talstar for a liquid treatment.
Taurus SC Termiticide when applied as directed will not harm ornamentals.
Taurus SC Termiticide is not labeled for fire ants. The application ratio for carpenter ants is 0.80 fl oz per gallon of water to make a 0.06% solution. You can use this solution twice per year.
Taurus SC is really only labeled to be used outdoors around the perimeter of a structure. If you need to treat floor joists in a crawl space, a product like Bora-Care would be a better option. Bora-Care can be sprayed, brushed or foamed onto bare wood surfaces and voids, where it will be absorbed throughout the wood, rather than just treating the surface like Taurus would do.
Connecticut is one of the strictest states regarding limiting purchase and application of insecticide concentrates by persons without a Pest Control Operator's license. Two great options for ant control that include a non-repellent active ingredient are Arilon Insecticide (like a sprayable bait), or Transport Mikron Insecticide (dual-active ingredient). Please let us know if we can further assist you.
Taurus SC Termiticide can be used for carpenter bees in localized areas. The mixing rate is 0.8 fl oz per gallon of water. This can be done twice a year at this rate.
