    Q
Does Tekko Pro Insect Growth Regulator Concentrate come in a granular form
I looking for a outside ant insecticide for yard
    A
Tekko Pro Insect Growth Regulator Concentrate is only available in a liquid form and is not an insecticide but an insect growth regulator.  IGRs stop the juvenile pests from growing into adults.  If you are looking for a granular insecticide for the lawn Talstar XTRA would be the better product to go with.

    Q
Will Tekko Pro Insect Growth Regulator Concentrate increase the growth rate of silkworms and not kill them?
I am doing a science experiment to test the influence of juvenile hormones on Silkworms, where this product seems that it will kill them.
    A
Tekko Pro Insect Growth Regulator Concentrate will not kill any insects. It is just a growth regulator that will stop adults from reproducing and the babies from growing into adults.

    Q
What's the completed mix AI percentage of Tekko Pro IGR?
For example the Gentrol is .05 AI when diluted with water.
    A
The Tekko Pro IGR has various recommended mixing ratios based on what insect you are treating. The Tekko Pro IGR is mixed at 1 oz per gallon, 1.5 oz per gallon, or 2 oz per gallon depending on the target pest. Therefore, depending on the mixure and amount of water used (1 gallon of water is the minimum recommended) then the percentage of active ingredient in the diluted solution will be 0.010% AI when using 1 oz per gallon, 0.015% AI when using 1.5 oz per gallon, and 0.02% AI when using 2 oz per gallon of water. Please note that the percentage of active ingredient listed above are based on a 1 gallon water dilution rate.

    Q
    What is the best IGR?
I have used Gentral and Tekko but don't see much difference in control. I am looking for the best control of roaches, mosquitos, bed bugs ect.
    A
NyGuard IGR is probably our top IGR both with one of the largest labels of pests that it stops the reproductive cycle on as well as length of time it holds up sunlight outdoors. Gentrol is the only IGR on the market to have claims that it works on bedbugs, but an IGR is not needed for controlling bedbugs if the treatments are being done appropriately with the right insecticide residual products. Make sure you are using the IGR, whether its Nyguard-Tekko-Gentrol, with the best insecticide for your needs. For roaches, mosquitoes, bed bugs and a huge variety of other pests most customers are using Temprid SC.

    Q
Which is more effective for controlling ticks, Tekko Pro or Archer IGR?
Since both contain 1.3% Pryridine but Tekko also contains Novaluron - 1.3% which would you recommend? I already use Permethrin SFR from you as a contact killer.
    A
Tekko Pro IGR and Archer IGR are both labeled for ticks so they are both excellent options.
The active ingredients in Tekko Pro IGR are the key behind behind the product's success, for two completely different reasons. Pripoxyfen is a juvenile hormone analog, which makes the pre-adult stage of the insect longer so that it dies before it can reproduce. Novaluron is a Chitin Sythesis Inhibitor, which stops the insect from being able to molt, making it more likely to die from outside influences. Archer IGR is different in the fact that it is photostable up to 14 days so it works in areas of direct sunlight. Both will essentially do the same thing.

  • Asked by Sean from Oklahoma City, Ok
    08/11/2015
    Q
Can Tekko Pro Insect Growth Regulator be used as a foam with a foaming agent?
Can this be used with the Profoam Foaming Agent? If not, can it be used in a foaming application at all? I need an IGR that prevents molting (chitin synthesis inhibitor) as well as has the juvenile hormone and so far this seems like that product, as I haven't found another one that does both, but I also need it to foam into the wall voids. I was planning on getting the Chapin Poly Foamer. Target pest is German Cockroaches.
    A

Tekko Pro Insect Growth Regulator does not carry foaming instructions on the product label, so we would not recommend it for this use. A good alternative with the same primary active ingredient, Pyriproxyfen, would be Pivot 10 IGR Concentrate, which does carry labeling for use in foaming equipment. Please see our Roach Treatment Guide for more information about roach control.

    Q
You stated that bed bugs don't need an IGR if insecticide is applied correctly why do cockroaches need it?
    A

There is not enough research backing the IGR's work on Bed Bugs. There is plenty of research and proof that IGR's if labeled for Roaches are very effective on their reproductive cycle.

    Q
Which IGR works best for roaches - Tekko Pro or Gentrol?
    A

Either Tekko Pro Insect Growth Regulator or Gentrol IGR would be great for roaches but should not be the only product used for elimination. It will take non-chemical efforts along with baiting and spraying a perimeter spray labeled for roaches for a successful eradication program. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for more information as well as on our Roach Control Kits.

    Q
Can I mix Tekko Pro with Talastar P and ExiciterR to control Mosquitoes?
    A

Yes the Talstar, ExciteR and Tekko Pro can be mixed together with water in the same sprayer for mosquito control. This combination of products offers the versatility of multiple concentrates that can be mixed and applied at the same time. As with all pests, it is crucial to address the environmental conditions that support mosquito populations. While it is unrealistic to expect 100% control of all mosquitoes, taking the time to do a good Inspection so that you can address both land and water conditions that favor mosquitoes will help you get the best results from your mosquito Treatment.
