  • Asked by Claudia from Orem, Ut

    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be used on the carpet of the bedroom where bedbugs were localized?
We sprayed our bedroom with Tempo to get rid of bedbugs but we were wondering if we can use it on the carpet and if we can, spread evenly on carpet or certain spots?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is not labeled to be used as a broadcast on interior surfaces and should only be applied to cracks and crevices around the room as directed on the product label.  Bed bugs prefer tight dark places such as these vs open areas so treatment should be directed there.  Tempo SC Ultra is not labeled to kill bed bugs. Our bedbug kits come with all top of the line products that are available on the market today, along with instructions to follow. When applied properly, our kits have a very high success rate. We recommend reading our article on How to Get Rid of Bed Bugs for more information on a treatment program using the products and non-chemical efforts.

  • Asked by Howard from South Bend, In

    Q
What are the mixing ratios for Tempo SC Ultra and NyGuard IGR to kill fleas indoors?
This product came highly recommended and from reading some of the other Q&A's I know I need to add a IGR. My question is what ratio of Tempo SC Ultra and Nyguard IGR do I use? I also just want to triple check that I can mix them both together.
    A

When mixing Tempo SC Ultra you may use anywhere from 8-16 milliliters per gallon of water and when mixing Nyguard IGR you use 3 to 8 milliliters per gallon of water to treat 1000 square feet.  Yes, these two products can be mixed together and applied at the same time.

  • Asked by Kayla from Donnelly, Mn

    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra work on spider eggs?
I understand that it will kill the spiders already there, but the eggs are our problem because I vacuum up all the spiders and in a few days the house is full again!
    A
There are no insecticides that will kill spider eggs. Spiders eggs are in a protected shell (much like a chicken egg) and will remain unaffected by insecticides. That being said, as spiders hatch they will walk through the residual and be killed by the Tempo SC. Be sure you are spraying all of your window and door frames, baseboards and also around the exterior of your home to stop new spiders from moving in and also to kill other insects that spiders can prey on. By helping to remove the food source you will also be removing the spiders motivation from moving in to your home.

  • Asked by R from Des Moines Iowa
    01/03/2017
    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be used on an entryway carpet?
How should I remove the product since this was an improper procedure?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is not labeled to be used as a broadcast on indoor carpet or any other flooring. It is labeled for crack and crevice use only. If the product has been used in a non-labeled area such as carpet, we would recommend that you clean the carpeted area with a carpet cleaner to get the product completely out of the fibers.

  • Asked by Aaron from Boston, Massachusetts
    08/22/2015
    Q
What is different with the Tempo SC Ultra in the 32ml bottle?
I see you've previously noted that the 32ml bottle is not to be used in residential areas, and it is also marked on the label. What is different about it? There are less active ingredients (only Beta-cyfluthrin) in that size than the larger bottles and the mix rate is the same as the 240ml and 900ml. If straight Beta-cyfluthrin with a 1oz/gallon mix rate is bad for people, how is it safer for you only by adding a couple other chemicals in the mix?
    A

All bottles of Tempo SC Ultra have the same amount of active ingredient, 11.8% beta-cyfluthrin. The inert ingredients may be different in the 32 mL bottle. We must recommend to apply the product in accordance with the product label. The 32 mL bottle is labeled to be diluted in 2 gallons of water, which would be the higher strength dilution. The dilution rate for the larger sized bottles is 8-16 mL per gallon of water, which is 1/4 to 1/2 ounce, not 1 ounce.

    Q
I've experience an abundance of rain. Does the ground near the home need to be completely dry before applying?
I'm using this to control red imported fire ants. I'd like to spray directly on mounds as well but the rain hasn't stopped much.
    A
It states directly from the label to apply this product in calm weather when rian in not predicted for the next 24 hours that will help to ensure that wind or rain does not blow or wash pesticide off the treatment area.

  • Asked by Laura from Stamford, Ct
    01/10/2016
    Q
Can I use Tempo SC Ultra without water or do you have it in powder form?
And if I so, in how long can my kids and I can go back to the room?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra cannot be used without water; it is a liquid concentrate. Tempo Ultra WP is a wettable powder but also needs to be diluted in water. If you need a powder/dust insecticide you can apply without diluting, you can use something like Tempo 1% inside wall voids. Once you're finished applying it inside wall voids or as instructed on the label and the area is cleaned up from any residue, you and your kids can be back into the area.

  • Asked by Ross from Small Town, Ia
    05/14/2013
    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be mixed with Lawn Herbicide?
I want to spray for both weeds and bugs in one pass. If using Speed Zone or Trimec 992 and a Surfactant will it diminish the results or have an adverse affect on the herbicide?
    A
Sometimes herbicides and insecticides can be mixed depending on the molecular makeup of the products. Since both Speedzone and Trimec 992 are made by PBI Gordon we recommend contacting them at 800-821-7925 to verify that these products can be mixed with Tempo SC Ultra. As far as the surfactant, it will not make a difference. You can add a surfactant to both herbicides and insecticide for extra sticking and penetration power.

  • Asked by Ishara from Durban
    03/30/2018
    Q
Is there residue transfer of Tempo SC Ultra?
I have had Tempo SC sprayed 1 month ago. I know the residue is safe when dry. Will the residue contaminate other items eg kitchen sink, crockery, cutlery, food containers clothes etc if the mops and cloths used to clean areas of the house that were treated are washed in the sink? If so will regular soap, dishwasher, washing machine remove the residue or do I need a chemical strength cleaner?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra should not be applied to these items and the residual left behind would not be picked up by items that contact a treated area. Contaminated items or surfaces should be washed thoroughly using an appropriate cleaner for those items.
