  • Asked by Kayla from Donnelly, Mn

    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra work on spider eggs?
I understand that it will kill the spiders already there, but the eggs are our problem because I vacuum up all the spiders and in a few days the house is full again!
    A
There are no insecticides that will kill spider eggs. Spiders eggs are in a protected shell (much like a chicken egg) and will remain unaffected by insecticides. That being said, as spiders hatch they will walk through the residual and be killed by the Tempo SC. Be sure you are spraying all of your window and door frames, baseboards and also around the exterior of your home to stop new spiders from moving in and also to kill other insects that spiders can prey on. By helping to remove the food source you will also be removing the spiders motivation from moving in to your home.

  • Asked by Ross from Small Town, Ia
    05/14/2013
    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be mixed with Lawn Herbicide?
I want to spray for both weeds and bugs in one pass. If using Speed Zone or Trimec 992 and a Surfactant will it diminish the results or have an adverse affect on the herbicide?
    A
Sometimes herbicides and insecticides can be mixed depending on the molecular makeup of the products. Since both Speedzone and Trimec 992 are made by PBI Gordon we recommend contacting them at 800-821-7925 to verify that these products can be mixed with Tempo SC Ultra. As far as the surfactant, it will not make a difference. You can add a surfactant to both herbicides and insecticide for extra sticking and penetration power.

    Q
Is Tempo effective on spruce bud worm in pine trees?
    A
Tempo Sc Ultra is labeled for bud worms and should do a great job for you when used as directed. We do recommend testing the product on one small area of the tree before broadcasting on the entire tree because spruce are known to loose their color very easily from insecticide applications.

    Q
Will tempo ultra kill fleas inside the home?
If so, where should this be sprayed? Carpets? How long should we notice no fleas?
    A
Tempo SC is more of a crack and crevice treatment. You could use Tempo SC along baseboards cracks and crevices and then use Nyguard Plus which will treat both eggs and adults. Nyguard Plus can also be applied to carpets, rugs, flooring, floors, drapes and all surfaces of upholstered furniture including under cushions. Avoid over wetting furniture and carpeting

Is Tempo SC Ultra recommended for termites or should I go with the Termidor SC?

    Q
You carry both Tempo SC Ultra and Tempo SC beta-cyfluthrin BA1012. Are they different?
If these two products are different, how so and what are their advantages and disadvantages. Is the beta product more powerful or have a higher concentration?
    A
Are you comparing Tempo SC Ultra to Tempo Ultra WP? If so, TEMPO SC delivers the power of a powder formulation in a liquid, and allows for more even disbursement during application. Tempo SC Ultra effectively controls a broad spectrum of indoor, outdoor, and turf and ornamental pests. Tempo SC also contains 11.8% Beta-Slathering whereas Tempo Ultra WP contains 10% Cyfluthrin. They are both great products the effectively treat all types of insects. Tempo Ultra Wp will leave a visible residue whereas Tempo SC will not.

  • Asked by Pam from Laverkin, Utah
    08/19/2013
    Q
Why do I have to throw my food away after spraying it with Tempo SC bug spray?
    A
Tempo is not labeled to be sprayed on any type of edible vegetation. Consuming foods sprayed with the product could cause serious harm to you and others that eat it. You always want to follow the labels strictly for the safety of you and others, and only use  approved products for edible vegetation to avoid any health dangers. Anything edible sprayed accidentally or purposefully with the Tempo SC Ultra or other similarly labled product should be disposed of promptly.

    Q
Termidor SC was applied around my house 6 months ago. How long before I can eat vegetables grown in that soil?
I transplanted some chard into a planting bed next to the house 2 weeks ago. The plants look great, but will they poison us?
    A
If you planted edible plants in any soil treated with Termidor you would not be able to eat anything from those plants.   Termidor should not under any circumstances be applied near or on anything edible and you should also not plant anything edible in soil that is treated with Termidor.  You should keep Termidor treatments at least 10 feet away from any garden.

    Q
Why can't I use the 32ml of Tempo SC Ultra in my home?
    Are the chemical proportions different?
    A
Tempo SC Ultra 32 Ml was developed after the 8oz and 900ml bottles. The label is designed and geared towards barns, horse stables and animal quarters. We cannot recommend it for indoor use because the label was approved by the EPA for use only outdoors.

    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra used in a gas powered back pack sprayer for mosquito control?
Instructions don't answer this question specifically, It does say "mist" application is acceptable, but not "fog" application. Not sure what the difference is.
    A
Yes the Tempo SC Ultra can be used in any tank mix applicator such as a hand pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or battery/gas powered sprayer or mist blower. It cannot be used in a true fogger like a ULV or thermal fogger that requires very specific fogging concentrates like the Commander Tri-Jet fogger we carry.

    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be safely used on orchids to get rid of thrips in a greenhouse environment?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is not labeled for greenhouse or nursery use.

We would recommend using Talstar P (Talstar One). It is labeled for use in a greenhouse as well as for thrips and various other pests. It is also safe to use on the orchids.

  • Asked by Dennis from Hartford
    07/14/2014
    Q
I broadcast Tempo SC in my yard at 8 oz to 25 gallons are my dogs going to be ok if they eat the grass?
    A
When Tempo SC Ultra is mixed properly according to the product label the small amount of active ingredient left behind on the grass once the product has dried only has a toxicity level of that to kill something as small as an insect. The insect walks across it, picks up a little bit on their feet/bodies and ingests it as they groom themselves.  As long as your dogs were out of the area until it dries there should be no harm.

  • Asked by Terry from Arnold Ne
    08/07/2014
    Q
How do I mix Tempo SC Ultra to kill Mosquitoes in lawn turf?
I have a lawn spraying business and have a rig with 500 ga. Tank , diaphragm pump set at 100 pounds, 4 gallons per 1000 sq feet thanks
    A

Per the Tempo SC Ultra Product Label: For Mosquito control, when using roughly 5 gallons of water per 1000 sq/ft, you will use 40-80 ml per 25 gallons of water. At the lower rate, this comes out to 800 ml of Tempo per 500 gallon tank.

An alternative product that is one of our top mosquito control insecticide concentrates, that will be typically cheaper per gallon of finished solution would be our Bifen IT. You would use 1.5-3 gallons of Bifen per 200 gallons of water. For your rig you would need at the lower rate, 3.5 gallons of Bifen.
