    Q
How much Tempo SC Ultra would you use to mix in a 26oz spray bottle? Is it safe to apply with birds in another room?
    A

Per the product label, Tempo SC Ultra must be mixed at the rate of 8-16 mL per gallon of water.  It is not really designed to be diluted into a smaller amount than that.

If there are birds in the area that you will be treating, we recommend that you consult a vet before applying any products, as birds can be sensitive to many pesticides.

  • Asked by Ronald from Santa Barbara
    04/12/2017
    Q
My trees where bees live was sprayed with Tempo SC Ultra. Can I wash the trees with soap and water to remove the spray?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra will not harm your tree or the bees if it was sprayed when they were not active. Once a product has dried, it is rainfast and water will not wash it off immediately. Since this was done outdoors, the product will break down within 30 days of application.

  • Asked by Zach from Iowa
    05/01/2017
    Q
Will bugs get used to Tempo SC Ultra if you spray it every month?
If so, what do you rotate the solution with? I spray for people and didn't know if bugs would start being tolerant to what I use.
    A

We recommend rotating Tempo SC Ultra between insecticides at least once a year to prevent resistance issues.  There is a variety of products you can rotate to, Temprid SC, Suspend Polyzone, Talstar P, and Phantom Termiticide/Insecticide, just to name a few.

  • Asked by Morgen from Santa Fe, Texas
    06/02/2017
    Q
Can you Tempo SC mix with other Insecticides?
For Example, Talstar P or the Excite that provide additional knock down, also do you dust first then spray or spray them dust? I am in southeast Texas right near the gulf and bugs are something fierce around here. The inside of our home is bug free because I am hyper vigilant, but I can't seem to win the battle outside. We have become overrun with wasps and it is making it more unpleasant to be outside than the weather already makes it. (We also have the lovely endemic mosquito, fly, and ant problem which is the reason I liked the talstar idea but didn't know if the chemicals were compatible)
    A

Tempo SC can be mixed with an IGR or Exciter but not with another insecticide concentrate such as Talstar. We recommend spraying crevices and dusting voids after areas sprayed nearby are completely dry.

  • Asked by David from Littlefork
    06/12/2017
    Q
Can you mix Bifen IT and Tempo SC Ultra together for spraying? Would this mixture be effective?
    A

The products should not be mixed together as you will not gain any benefits by doing so.  In fact, using too much could cause resistance as they are both synthetic pyrethriods.

  • Asked by John from Saratoga, Ca
    08/17/2017
    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be sprayed on carpets and rugs? I am treating for rodent mites in existing fabrics.
    A

Tempo SC Ultra can not be sprayed as a broadcast over carpet, rugs or upholstered items and is not labeled for rat mites.

The first step in treating for Rodent Mites is to remove the host animal, then cleaning and sanitizing the area. Be sure to wear gloves and protective clothing. Without removing the host, you will not be able to fully eradicate the infestation. If you are not able to locate the host, we recommend contacting a professional to inspect and remove it.

Vacuuming visible mites or wiping them up with a damp cloth can remove existing mites, but freeze vacuum bags to ensure the mites are dead. Controlling rodent populations in your home by using traps and sealing your home can ensure that these mites do not enter your home.

Onslaught Insecticide and Steri-fab are two products to treat for rodent mites. Steri-Fab is a contact kill that can be used on upholstered furniture, mattresses, pillows, blankets, etc. It only kills while it is wet and will not leave any residual behind. Onslaught is a microencapsulated insecticide that can be broadcasted over carpeted areas and rugs (not furniture or mattresses) to treat for fleas, ticks, mites, etc. Vaccuming before application is crucial and to continue to vacuum every other day, if not every day. This is extremely helpful in the success of your treatment.

  • Asked by Skye from Texas
    10/19/2017
    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra keep ticks out of the house?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is not a true "repellent," so it will not keep insects such as ticks away.  The only way to do this would be to seal up all cracks and crevices that allow them access inside.  Tempo can be used as a barrier spray to help kill ticks that come into contact with treated surfaces.  Please take a few moments to review our article on How to Get Rid of Ticks for more detailed information on how to implement a successful control program for this pest.

    Q
Can I spray Tempo SC on my lemon tree?
    Something is eating the leaves.
    A

Tempo SC Ultra should NOT be applied to the lemon tree or any other edible vegetation. If the tree has been sprayed, you will want to discard any fruit. We do carry products that can be applied to edibles. Please let us know what you are targeting so that we can make a proper recommendation that will best fit your needs.

  • Asked by Ishara from Durban
    03/02/2018
    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be applied on furniture and furnishings?
Our home was recently sprayed with Tempo SC. Some of the furnishings eg beds curtains etc may have come in contact with the the solution. Are the surfaces safe when dry or should they be discarded? How long does the residue remain on the surfaces before its completely gone? When dry does it pose a hazard to children or pets during the time the residue remains in our home? Thanks
    A

Tempo SC is safe to use indoors when applied as a crack and crevice treatment according to the instructions on the product label. This is a residual insecticide that should not be applied to personal items like bedding or resting areas of furniture. If you think clothing or bedding may be contaminated, then you would want to wash these items before use. It is fine for people and pets to re-enter the treatment area after the application is dry.

  • Asked by Ishara from Durban
    03/30/2018
    Q
Is there residue transfer of Tempo SC Ultra?
I have had Tempo SC sprayed 1 month ago. I know the residue is safe when dry. Will the residue contaminate other items eg kitchen sink, crockery, cutlery, food containers clothes etc if the mops and cloths used to clean areas of the house that were treated are washed in the sink? If so will regular soap, dishwasher, washing machine remove the residue or do I need a chemical strength cleaner?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra should not be applied to these items and the residual left behind would not be picked up by items that contact a treated area. Contaminated items or surfaces should be washed thoroughly using an appropriate cleaner for those items.
