post-emergent with added expectation of pre-emergent control
By Bob in East Wenatchee, WA on 09/13/2020
My expectation of post-emergent control of crabgrass was not high, given other chemicaIs' efficacy. Tenacity exceeded for control even on plants beyond 4-5 tillers. I hope to get residual control in t…

This stuff is a beast. Knocks the weeds out. Turns them white first so your lawn will look bad for a while. Then the weeds turn brown

tenacity
By Ron in milton on 05/29/2022
Did nothing for my poa annua followed all instructions in fact got worse.
Expert response:
Good evening, We apologize the Tenacity did not work as expected but we are not able to find an order under this email to confirm when purchased, was it purchased from us? We will say that Tenacity is not labeled to control Poa annua that is already growing as a post emergent herbicide. Per the label it is only used to suppress it when applied as a pre-emergent before the poa annua germinates and emerges, it will take multiple applications for it do even this. If you already have Poa you will need a post emergent that is labeled to control it and that is safe to use on your turfgrass. If you provide that information we would be happy to look at a replacement product more suited to your needs.
I cannot recommend!

Turned Everything White
By Garnett in Wilmington De on 10/26/2024
1 Application has turned most of the yard white. Killing weeds slowly, not so good on crabgrass. Delvery and ordering with Do my own is always great.
Expert response:
We apologize results were not as expected Yellowing or whitening of the turf after a broadcast application of Tenacity Herbicide is caused by the loss of chlorophyll. The product label states, "Tenacity may cause temporary whitening of turfgrass foliage. In general, symptoms appear five to seven days after application and last for several weeks. A repeat application to the same site causes less whitening of the plant tissue." Per the label it is not recommended to broadcast Tenacity as a post emergent application due to this and it is best applied as a spot treatment directly to target unless you are doing a complete turf renovation or reseed the lawn.
