Termidor Foam uses a non repellent active ingredient Fipronil. Thiis active ingredient works slow because it allows the active to transfer between termites so it can spread throughout killing more than just the termites that come in contact with the residual.
Yes, you can use Termidor Foam in the window frame. You will need to drill into the infested area and apply the foam. Termidor FOAM expands rapidly creating a dry foam that can be applied in the voids, harborages, galleries, and nests where insects are found. The foam generated has an expansion ratio of 30:1. In about 5 seconds 1 oz. of a product becomes approximately 1 quart of foam. The foam will dissipate and dry clear, so you could paint anytime after the application has dried.
We would not recommend use of a product like Termidor Foam in the kitchen for treating ants. You may want to use an ant bait gel instead. Termidor FOAM is only used when you are directly spot treating active infestations, this would involve drilling right into the infested wood and using the tip to inject.
Termidor Foam can be applied, in 5 second bursts, into the termites kickout holes on the ceiling. We would also recommend using Boracare in the attic. Boracare needs to be applied to raw wood so it be can be absorbed and kill existing termites and it will protect the wood for the lifetime of it.
The only termite prevention that would be for wall voids would be foaming something like Boracare with ProFoam in a foamer into the area as these will penetrate the wood they contact. This is best for drywood termite prevention. For subterranean termite prevention you would apply something like Termidor SC in a trench around the home. The Termidor Foam residual lasts approximately 4 – 6 weeks. Termidor foam begins working immediately, however using a product that is non-repellent (or not detectable) will allow the termites to pick up the product on their bodies and transfer it to other termites within the colony. It can take up to 90 days to eliminate the existing termites.
Termidor FOAM would not be the product to use in the holes you’re drilled for trenching. It will not bond to the soil for very long, which is what you need when protecting your structure for termites. It can be used in galleries, voids and harborage places. You would use Termidor SC or Taurus SC instead.
Termidor FOAM can be reused at another time. Be sure to rinse the tube after use so it is not left to dry.
Termidor FOAM can be used for a direct application to termite activity in wall voids, but has limited labeling for use outdoors. If you have a subterranean termite infestation you would need to do a trench treatment around your home/structure with a termiticide such as Termidor SC. Pur Black Foam must be applied using a Pageris Foam Gun model GU01 or GU24 (sold separately), or similar type foam gun.
Yes, Termidor FOAM can be applied into the wood. If possible, we also recommend to trench around the porch and apply Termidor SC.
After making your first application of Termidor FOAM in wall voids another application can not be made for 6 weeks. Termidor is a residual product and can take weeks for full results.

If you have termites, you should drill holes into the galleries and inject Termidor Foam to directly eliminate the colony. You will only be injecting the foam into the studs and around where the activity is, not filling the entire wall void. Please see the video for direct nest treatment in our Termite Treatment Guide.
We would not recommend applying this product while pets and/or children are indoors. Once the Termidor Foam has dried on the surfaces behind the wall it will only be toxic to something the size of an insect or termite. Once the product has dried completely, it is safe for pets to return to the area.
