    Q
Can I spray Termidor sc directly on sub flooring and joists from under the crawl space to prevent termites?
    A

Termidor SC cannot be applied onto structural wood for termite prevention. You could use it for soil treatment around the foundation and around piers in a crawl space, but not just to spray on the wood. If you are wanting to protect raw wood from termites, then you would use a wood preservative such as Boracare instead.

    Q
Can I use bleach on wood covered with mold and termites and then use Termidor?
I have mold and termite damage in my crawl space. I was going to use bleach for the mold and Termidor for the termites. Do I need to use bleach before or after Termidor?
    A

You can definitely use a mixture of water and bleach to treat the mold. However, you would need to use Bora care mixed with mold care, not Termidor SC. Termidor would be for the soil to control existing sub-termites and prevent new ones. BoraCare/Mold Care will be for the wood to treat the mold and prevent more and termites  I have attached the link in this email for the bora care mixed with mold care for your reference.

    Q
Can it be used on oak trees?
Can this be used on live oak trees? I know this question has been asked before. I would disagree that they don't attack live trees. Sure they start on dead limps but they keep on going after the live trees after. The trees are definitely alive though.
    A

Termidor SC should only be applied as directed on the label. It does have instructions as a direct spot treat the active nest in the tree by drilling into it and injecting with foam or dilution. Termites do not normally attack live, healthy trees so identifying any issues within the tree that attracted the termites in the first place would  be recommended as well.  A local arborist or horticulturalist at your local cooperative extension office may be able to assist with this or a local pest control company. Please let us know if you need anything else.

    Q
    Taurus SC
I sprayed around my foundation and patio. Some overspray may have gotten into my 20000-gallon pool. What should I do to fix this? I know it's not meant for around water it was a mistake.
    A

Thank you for your email, for a small amount of overspray of the Termidor SC reaching the pool, the amount of chemicals present would be negligible, much like dropping a couple of drops of food coloring into an ocean would be such little particles that it would be diluted and probably killed by the chlorine before it was harmful.

    1. With diluted Termidor SC applied,
    2. and diluted again into 20,000 gallons of water
    3. and being subjected to UV light
    4. and subjected to the chlorine, in the pool

There is extremely little concern regarding Termidor dilution impact on the pool water.

    Q
What to use for spiders (outside)?
    A

Termidor SC is an excellent option for the control of spiders, ants and many other listed insects when used as directed on the label at a rate of .80 fl. oz. to one gallon of water in a pump sprayer and sprayed around the outside foundation of the home. For example, you would spray 1 foot up the foundation of your home, and 1 foot out onto the ground.  The treatment will last about 4-6  months, and will then need to be reapplied.

    Q
Use of Termidor near an inground pool?
I am replacing my in-ground pool liner and I noticed over the past few years that I have had small holes that I've been patching. The pool company said it could be ants or termites. I have seen termites when digging for plants around the pool. Can this product be sprayed on the vermiculite walls prior to replacing the liner? Or should it be trenched near the concrete pad that surrounds the pool?
    A

You would want to use the Termidor SC like you would for a pre-slab treatment by spraying the surface of the soil before the liner is replaced in the pool. The rate if 1 gallon of mixed solution (0.8 oz per gallon) per 10 sq/ft of surface area. You can also trench around the perimeter of the pool to keep termites and ants from doing damage for additional protection.

    Q
    Does it kill German roaches?
I'm in an apartment they are in the building.
    A

We would not suggest that Termidor SC be the product of choice for eradicating German Roaches as it can only be applied to the exterior of the structure only. We do have a Roach Control Rotation A Kit that will be great to treat your home with. Please take a few moments to read our article on How to Get Rid of German Roaches. You will find some really great tips on applying the products for the best control. Please let us know if you need anything else.

    Q
How should I apply Termidor if I have a rock landscape around the perimeter of the house?
Can I just pour the mix between rocks and slab to be absorbed by the soil?
    A

Termidor SC is made to bind to soil molecules which allows it to last for 10 years whereas Termidor applied to porous surfaces such as rock and/or gravel will only last and remain effective for a few months.

    Q
    Cleaning equipment/PPE after using Termidor?
After using Termidor, what the best way to disinfect/clean PPE/clothes (sprayer, gloves, etc..) ?
    A

After applying Termidor SC, clothes can be washed as normal in your washing machine and dryer, and skin can be washed with soap and water if any chemical got on you directly. Sprayers can be cleaned by triple rinsing the tank and wand/nozzle with clean water, soap and water, or an actual tank cleaner, whichever is easiest for you to do.

Can I apply this product directly on a wooden fence?
    A

Termidor SC can only be applied around the foundation of your home or other building structure for pest control. You cannot use the product around the fence because it is not labeled for this type of application. It can be used to trench only around the fence posts if treating for termites. Q
How much per gal for big red ants?
    A

Termidor will treat ants. You want to mix 0.8 fl oz. for each gallon of water. Please follow the label instructions as Termidor is only labeled as an ant treatment to be used above ground to the exterior foundation walls of your house, creating a treated area of protection for excellent ant control. And only to be applied twice a year.

    Q
I want to pretreat the soil with Termidor SC before pouring the foundation (~6300 sf). How many gallons do I need?
    A

You will need to use 1 gallon of solution per 10 sq. ft. of area at a rate of 0.80 oz. per gallon of water. You would need 630 gallons to treat the soil which is 20 bottles of Termidor SC. We suggest using 2 cases of Taurus SC Termiticide 78oz, each 78 oz bottle does around 100 gallons of solution.

    Q
    Spraying near well...
I sprayed about 5 feet away from our well for ants. I did not use the trench method, as we are not dealing with termites. Is my well likely to get contaminated?
    A

Termidor SC should only be sprayed against the foundation as directed or applied as a backfill method as directed on the label. Do not apply Termidor SC within 5 feet of a well or cistern. Treatment within 5 to 10 feet of a well or cistern must be done by backfill method only (removing the dirt to be treated and replacing it after it has been treated elsewhere or in a container such as a wheelbarrow).

    Q
    Does it kill fleas too?
    A

Termidor SC is not labeled for fleas and it is also not labeled for use in a lawn so it is not what we recommend for outdoor flea control. Suspend SC is labeled for fleas and for indoor use, but it is not the best choice for indoor flea control because you can not broadcast spray it over carpeted areas. We recommend you use our Outdoor/Indoor Flea Kit to get rid of fleas in and around your home. Please take a few moments to review our article on How to Get Rid of Fleas for a successful eradication program.

    A

Yes, Termidor SC can be applied at the rate of 0.8fl oz per gallon of water to trees, wood fences, decking, landscape timbers, and other similar wood-to-soil contact materials. If possible, locate and treat the interior-infested cavity by injection.

  • Asked by Nick from Arleta- California

    Q
What if you have dogs can you use the stuff in the yard?
    A

termidor SC is not allowed to be used anywhere other than around the foundation of the home 1-2 feet up and 1-2 feet out. It cannot be broadcast across yards or flowerbeds for any type of insect control, especially with sandy soils. If you want an insecticide that can be broadcast across the yard for ant and general insect control we would recommend something like Talstar P. It is a great general and broad-use insecticide that you mix at the rate of 1oz per gallon of water.
