    Q
What is best product to get rid of subterranean termites?
    A
Termidor SC is the top termite product on the market for treatment and prevention.. Termidor SC is completely undetectable by subterranean termites and once termites touch it they contact, ingest and spread the termiticide until it eliminates the entire colony and it will last for about 10 years in the soil.  You should perform a liquid termite treatment in the ground to get the termites where they are entering your house and for furture prevention.

    Q
I had a friend of mine use Termidor SC in my trench but he did not use enough water. Will this ruin product?
    A
Termidor SC should be diluted with water and applied in a trench according to the product mixing instructions on the product label. It is mixed at 3.2 fl oz per 4 gallons of water per 10 lineal feet of trenching (6"x6" trench directly up against the foundation).

    Q
Found some termite activity on some scrap wood in my crawl space?
Hi, I just finished one project with your help and products and now I have a new project. I'm looking at a rental property. I have done a very detailed inspection and can find no termite activity to the structure.....both in the home and under the home look great. When I lifted the plastic moisture barrier in the crawl space, I found some termite activity on some scrap pieces of wood lying on the dirt under the plastic sheeting. I don't see any dead bodies, wings, or alive termites......just this damage to a couple scraps left by the builders (home is 13 years old). How would I approach this project? I plan to order some more Termidor and treat the soil around the home and treat the soil around the pillers in the crawl space, just as an insurance policy...anything else at this point?
    A
You actually sound like you are already on the right track on knowing what to do.  You would apply in a trench with Termidor SC around the outside of the home  and around the pillars in the crawl space. Also inspect the home to ensure there is not an active infestation.  If an active infestation is located it would also be recommended to do the trench along the inside wall of the crawl space.

    Q
Do I need to drill through a step into my house or through the patio attached to the step and treat with Termidor SC?
Exiting my house, there is one step and then a patio. Should the step or patio be drilled incrementally to treat for termites? This is the back door and faces the southwest. Thank you.
    A

Yes, you should drill a hole 2" from the foundation wall (1/2" in diameter/18" deep) every 10-12" apart. You will be dispursing the same amount of finished soultion in the drilled holes as you will the trench around the structure. Termidor SC will be mixed at 3.2 oz per 4 gallons of water per 10 lineal feet (in trench or drilled holes). Please let us know if you need anything else.

    Q
Can we pour Termidor SC in the hole when the post is removed?
We have active termites in a post on our concrete porch.
    A
Yes, you may drench the soil where the termite damaged post has been removed with Termidor SC. However, this will only protect that localized area and would not help protect the rest of your home from termite damage. We would recommend treating the entire perimeter of your home with Termidor SC. Please read over our Termite Treatment Guide for more information regarding protecting your home long term from destructive termites.

Had a bad swarm last year and I took action. Drilled the holes and dug the trenches. Doused the house with the termidor mixture. Now this year I have less active swarmers but still swarmers. About 10 each day just walking around the ground. I spot treated the area and tried to get it into cracks just to try What went wrong here. Should I worry?

    Q
Should I worry about rain runoff after Termidor SC perimeter treatment?
I plan on doing a home perimeter treatment (1 foot up and out) with Termidor SC for ant control. I have a vegetable garden that is around 11 feet away from the area being treated. The ground however slopes slightly to the garden. The Termidor will not contact the garden during spraying and I will ensure there is no chance of rain for 24 hours after treatment, but is there a possibility of contaminating the garden from rain runoff after the Termidor has dried? Thanks
    A
We would recommend to keep Termidor applications at least 10 feet from the garden. If the application has time to dry before rainfall or watering to avoid immediate runoff, then this application should be safe.

    Q
What is the shelf life of Termidor SC?
I had purchased two bottles of Termidor, Product ID: A0007, back in May of 2013. Is this product still effective and is it applied in the same manner as your current Termidor SC product?
    A
Termidor SC has a 3-5 year shelf life from the date of purchase if stored away from extreme temperatures. Termidor Foam should have a shelf life of about 1-2 years. The nozzle and hose should just be rinsed with water after use. Termidor DRY shelf life if stored in a cool dry area is up to 3 years.

    Q
Can I apply Termidor to the wooden second floor of my home which is infested with termites?
    A
Termidor SC should only be applied to the exterior of the structure for termite control. We recommend that after 90 days, you can apply Bora-Care to the wood on the interior of the home. • Asked by Martin from Leavenworth Kansas
    05/10/2015
    Q
How do I treat a crawl space under the house for termite prevention?
    A
No matter whether your home sits on a slab, crawl space, or basement the 6x6 trench is all that is required around the outside of the home along with any drilling you may have to do through concrete barriers like patios and driveways. Inside the crawl space you would need to trench around any piers that hold up the home but the outside trench would be all that is required for the actual foundation if you are using Termidor SC. If you use Dominion 2L, you would have to trench the inside and the outside of the crawlspace foundation as well as the piers. The Termidor SC will last for 10 years to protect your home and the Dominion 2L will last for 7 years. Please let us know if you have any other questions and you can review our article on How To Do A Termite Treatment for more tips on doing it yourself.

    Q
Can you use Termidor SC inside your house for flea control?
    A

Termidor SC cannot be applied indoors or for flea control. We do carry an Indoor Flea Kit that will be great for this application. You will vacuum daily (discarding the bag or emptying the canister after each use) and spray once every two weeks. It is highly recommended to make a minimum of two applications indoors but may require additional applications depending on the level of fleas.

    Q
I ordered some Termidor from you today. I want to apply to my front entry entrance.
What is the best way to apply the solution in my concrete entrance? I have a large hammer drill and will drill the holes myself.
    A
We recommend that you drill a hole (1/2" diameter, 18" deep) 2 inches from the foundation wall. You will drill a hole every 10-12" apart and disperse 4 gallons of the mixed solution every ten lineal feet. For 4 gallons of water, you will add 3.2 oz of Termidor SC.

    Q
I have very tiny ants popping up now and then in kitchen and bath maybe other places.
    A
We would recommend applying Termidor SC (1 ft up and 1 ft out) directly to the exterior of the home twice a year. Phantom would be a great choice for the indoor cracks and crevices. It will last inside for three months with the liquid formulation and one month for the aerosol.

  • Asked by Billy from Conway, Arkansas

    Q
I have brick veneer on my house and there is about a 6 to 8 inch gap to the foundation.
    A
You will need to dig one long continuous trench that is 6 inches wide by 6 inches deep right up against the foundation of your home. You will then mark the trench off in 10 ft segments. For every 10 feet of trench you will then apply 4 gallons of diluted Termidor SC. This is how all professional companies apply the product and this is how the product label specifies applying the product. Please read our How to Perform a Termite Treatment Article for more information, helpful tips and videos. Please let us know if you need anything else.

    Q
Will Termidor kill and get rid of brown recluse infestations?
What is the best way to get rid of brown recluse?
    A
Termidor will kill brown recluse, but may not be able to be sprayed where you need to treat the brown recluse. Cyper WSP would be the best product to use fro brown recluse spiders.

  • Asked by John from Dallas, Tx

    Q
Will Termidor SC kill fire ants?
    A

If you spray a good barrier around the foundation of the home with Termidor it will technically control any species of ant that would crawl across it. You can treat 1 foot up on the side of the home, and 1 foot out on the ground, as well as around any other entry point for the ants like windows, doors and where pipes or wires enter the home. The ants will walk across the Termidor, pick it up unknowingly, and take it back to the nest to eliminate them at the source. Please see our Fire Ant Treatment Guide for recommendations on how best to treat for this pest.
