Termidor SC does come in a 78oz bottle for licensed applicators. If you can get inside of the foundation through for example a crawlspace Termidor SC should be applied in a trench like around the outside perimeter. One 20oz bottle treats 60 linear feet of trenching.
Termidor SC is not labeled to be used out in the yard. We would recommend to use Dominion 2L which can be applied to and around the stump. Be sure to treat around your home as well to prevent. Check out our Termite Guide for all the up to date tips on Termite prevention and control.
You can apply Termidor SC as long as the ground is not frozen and make sure that it does not rain for 24 hours minimum after you do your treatment.
Once Termidor SC is applied it can take up to a month or 6 weeks depending on ant species and size of the colony. As long as you are seeing dead ants the product is working. Should you start to see live ants again then there may possibly be a satellite colony in a wall void that needs to be spot treated or baited.

Insecticides should not be exposed to extreme temperatures such as freezing or over heating or left for prolonged periods of time in direct sunlight. In the case of Termidor SC, after it has thawed at room temperature if it goes back into a solution (the way it looked at the time of purchase) it should be fine to use. However, if it appears discolored or if the consistency of the product has changed it should be discarded and replaced.
When doing a termite treatment with Termidor SC, on a slab, the trenching method is going to be most effective. It is only necessary to drill holes if you have a garage, patio or any other contiguous slabs against your home. Please take a look at our Termite Treatment Guide.
We recommend trenching with Termidor SC because it binds to the soil and creates a continuous barrier. Most members of termite colonies remain hidden and there are often multiple colonies, so if you only treat one area where you visibly see them, there is no way to ensure that all the termites will encounter the amount of Fipronil needed to eliminate a colony. While Termidor does have a transfer effect, the idea is to create a barrier and as the termites travel through the treatment, they will absorb enough of the active chemical used in the treatment and then die.
Termidor SC is labeled to control roaches but it is not labeled for indoor use. We would recommend that you use one of our Roach Control Kits to ensure that you have everything necessary for a complete treatment. Depending on the rate at which Termidor SC is applied, it can be applied 2-4 times per year for ant control.
A good option would be to use granules, such as Demand G Granules. They can be applied around the perimeter of your home outdoors to control ants. This product does need to be watered in for it to be activated so during the rainy season, this would be ideal until it dries up and you can use the Termidor SC.
Termidor SC can only be applied around the foundation of your home or other building structure for control of ants and other listed insects. You cannot use the product out on or around the trees or fences because it is not labeled for this type of application. We recommend using our most popular product for spider mites, Talstar P. Talstar P is known to have a pretty good miticide effect for these plant-infesting pests. When Talstar P is over-used the mites are known to build up a resistance to the active ingredient. The other choices would be to use a Horticultural Oil or an insecticidal soap. Both of these products work best when they make direct contact with the pest and both products are known to cause discoloration to spruce trees. The pro to using one of these products is that spider mites cannot build up a resistance to them.
Termidor SC is applied 1 ft up and 1 ft out directly up against the foundation for a crawling insect barrier 2-4 times per year depending on the rate used (see product label for complete mixing instructions). If treating for subterranean termites, the product is applied in a 6 X 6 trench and in drilled holes up against the foundation. In the areas where you cannot treat with a liquid treatment such as Termidor, we would advise using a termite bait station such as the such as the HexPro Termite Baiting station. This will help you keep areas that cannot be treated with the liquid treatment monitiored.
