Termidor SC is not labeled to treat fire ants. We do carry Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait that works great as a mound and broadcast application in the lawn for fire ant treatment.
Termidor SC should be dilulted at 0.8 fl oz per gallon of water and the listed amount of foaming agent per gallon per the product's label.
Baits do not normally work on White-Footed Ants so alternative methods will be needed. You will need to treat the lawn and any mounds you see with Talstar P. Spray the Talstar around window and door frames. Please review our detailed article on How to Get Rid of White Footed Ants for more information on eliminating them from your home. Termidor SC is effective against all ants. Termidor SC is the most effective ant treatment product available because it does not just kill the ants that come in contact with it, but it also kills the queen and the rest of the colony when the ant that first came in contact with the product returns to the colony. Be sure to use Termidor SC in a very clean hand pump sprayer. If you use a sprayer that still has remnants of other products in it, you could ruin the way Termidor SC works. It is applied only in a 1 ft by 1 ft band around the exterior of the structure (do not spray Talstar P to the same area).
While you are correct in that injecting termiticide into the ground seems more consistent with how professionals treat with Termidor SC and similar products, keep in mind that they are also using truck-mounted power sprayers with very high pressure to forcefully inject the product into the ground. While trenching may be laborious, it is actually a better treatment because you are creating a continuous barrier around the structure rather than creating spots of injection. We always recommend trenching except where spaced applications are needed due to drilling in concrete around the home. You are still using 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet, regardless of how it's applied, and the product needs to be at least 6 inches into the soil. Keep in mind, too, that a proper treatment with Termidor is good for at least 10 years.
Termidor SC cannot be applied indoors or for flea control. We do carry an Indoor Flea Kit that will be great for this application. You will vacuum daily (discarding the bag or emptying the canister after each use) and spray once every two weeks. It is highly recommended to make a minimum of two applications indoors but may require additional applications depending on the level of fleas.
No, Termidor SC is not labeld for Carpet Beetles and can only be used indoors for active termite treatments. Adult carpet beetles are most commonly found outside so if you have not treated outside or inspected for areas where they could be nesting, we recommend treating there as well. They feed on pollen and nectar, but lay eggs in bird, rodent, bee, or wasp nests or old spider webs to give the larvae an abundant food source. Clearing these away from your home, along with checking near highly pollinating plants near your house and checking cut flowers for the beetles before bringing them inside.
To access the area under the cabinets you can also use Delta Dust and apply with a bellow hand duster to the cracks and crevices under the cabinets and inside the closed area underneath. You only need a light coating but this will last 6-8 months in undisturbed areas. As the carpet beetle larvae hatch and/or crawl out of the cabinet area, they will come in contact with the dust. This would give better results then spraying inside with the Suspend SC.
Adding Gentrol IGR (insect growth regulator) will also stop the growth of the immature stages of the carpet beetle and can be mixed in right along with your Suspend SC in a 1 gallon pump sprayer. Mix 1oz Gentrol with 1 oz of Supsend SC with 1 gallon of water.
Spray along the floorboards under the cabinets, closets, corners, etc and let it completely dry. After the liquid has dried, come back and apply the Delta Dust. We have a great video here that will show you how to apply to wall voids and hard to reach areas.

Vacuuming is cruicial to eradicate the carpet beetles. Use crack and crevice attachements to get deep into the baseboards, grooves and other areas where lint, dust, pet hairs, etc will build up.
The Chapin Premier 1 Gallon Poly Sprayer 21210XP is a great general purpose hand pump sprayer that works great for general pest control applications both indoors and outdoors. Drywood Termites are best treated with a termiticide foam like FUSE Termiticide Foam or BoraCare. You can see our How to Treat for Drywood Termite Guide here.
Termidor SC is only labeled to be used around a structure and cannot be sprayed further than 6 inches from it, in California. Arilon Insecticide can be used around the perimeter of the home and you could expand the band around the perimeter, for example: you can spray 3 feet up on the foundation and 7 feet out. The active can also be transferred from one ant to another and can be used for direct mound treatments if necessary, as well as surfaces commonly used by ants for foraging such as outdoor edges/frames of windows, doors, utility penetrations, roof lines or eaves, and other structural edges may also be treated. In addition to exterior structural elements, outdoor nesting sites such as refuse collection areas, flower/mulch beds, adjacent tree holes, surrounding turf areas, crawl spaces, or other nest/ foraging sites, and foraging trails can be treated.
Per the manufacturer, "There are many factors involved such as: when flooding has brought new, untreated soil next to the foundation, foundation elements have shifted/moved, soil subsidence has occurred and untreated soil now requires a Termidor treatment, adjacent patios, driveways, concrete pathways, asphalt pads, etc have moved and exposed soil areas that can now be treated, soil erosion next to foundations has removed protective termite treatment zones, landscaping has been repaired, added, etc and the previously treated zones have been disturbed. Especially when repaired and previous soil is moved. Termidor has very low water solubility and therefore will not leach through the soil. Termidor tightly binds to organic matter in soil, which also limits its movement. All of these physical and chemical characteristics contribute to Termidor remaining active in the treated zones close to the foundations of the structure for as long as the soil and foundations have not been compromised or the normal time span for degradation has elapsed."
Termidor SC is a liquid concentrate (SC = Suspended Concentrate). Termidor FOAM is a ready-to-use foam termiticide/insecticide.
Termidor SC should be applied up against the structure for listed crawling insects in a 1 ft by 1 ft band and in the soil for termite applications. We do offer other products for treating caterpillars including Natural Guard Spinosad Landscape and Garden Insecticide.
Termidor SC is only labeled to be applied immediately around a structure and cannot be used to treat tree stumps. You may want to consider using a product like Dominion 2L instead.
If treating in the barn at all for termites with Termidor you would want all the bunnies and any other animals out of the entire area during the treatment and until its dried and settled, typically over a couple of hours time frame. Bunnies can be sensitive to chemical use so having them all removed from the whole barn during that process is recommended.
When applied in a 6x6 inch trench/drilled holes, Termidor SC will cover 60 feet of trenching/drilled holes (10-12" apart).
Typically what would be done is that you would have your regular 6 in x 6 in trench with your 4 gallons of Termidor SC solution per 10 linear feet, and then rod down to the grade (but not below) at each footer, or in the case of a continuous basement, about every 12 inches. You also can treat from the inside by drilling in the basement to treat the ground underneath it and any hollow block near the floor there.
If the wings are falling that is normal. Termidor SC does need time to work and should not be retreated this soon.
For step by step instructions on how to do a termite trenching treatment using Termidor SC, please take a look at our Termite Treatment Guide. It provides you with those instructions along with videos and lots of helpful tips.
Termidor SC is safe when used as directed on the product label. You will dig your 6 in. x 6 in. trench right up against the foundation of the structure you are treating.
Termidor SC is not really meant to be used as a crawl space wood treatment. If you are going to be applying Boracare, it is not necessary to also use Termidor. Boracare will penetrate completely into the wood and will remain active for the life of the wood.
