    Q
I live in south TX, will Termidor SC work for the termites down here?
Also, today I saw a 5 inch line of holes in one of my outer walls thru the outside on the side of my house. I had a couple of old boards and moved them and saw they had a lot of termites. I killed most of them by stepping on them and took the boards to my truck to get thrown away, How can I battle the ones inside my walls?
    A

Termidor SC is labeled for all types of termites.  How you use it is determined by the species of termites you are dealing with.  If you have termites in your home, we recommend doing the liquid treatment as outlined in the "How To Do A Termite Treatment" article and then inside the home where you know you have the termites you will treat them directly by injecting the Termidor into the wall or cutting a hole into the wall and spraying on the wood or however you can get the product to the termites. It only needs to touch a few termites to work.

    Q
We are cleaning crawlspace for mold, then sealing. Can Termidor still be used?
Mold was found in our crawl space. The cleaning company is planing on sealing the space after killing the mold. Will our termidor applications still be able to be done?
    A

If your crawlspace is sealed then no you would not be able to dig a trench and apply Termidor inside the crawlspace, you would only apply it around the outside perimeter of your home.

    Q
We applied Termidor SC in a trench around our house last summer. This spring I have a lot of termites in the garden.
I have termites in my vegetable garden in my back yard. It is not near the foundation. Does this mean the treatment did not work? Do we need to retreat?
    A

The trenching application of Termidor SC is for protecting your home from termites.  If you’re no longer finding evidence of termites invading your home, then the Termidor was successful.  Termites travel in all directions under the surface of the soil.  There can be multiple colonies in your yard alone.  There is no termiticide that can be used in your garden.  You can use Termite Bait Stations around your garden perimeter to help treat termites in that area.

    Q
Can Termidor SC be used through a weep hose in areas around a house that are inaccessible under a deck?
    A

No, Termidor SC cannot be used in any type of irrigation application because of backflow issues. Be sure to read the full product label and only apply the product as instructed.

    Q
Will Termidor SC and Suspend SC kill fleas inside and outside of my home?
    A

Termidor SC is not labeled for fleas and it is also not labeled for use in a lawn so it is not what we recommend for outdoor flea control. Suspend SC is labeled for fleas and for indoor use, but it is not the best choice for indoor flea control because you can not broadcast spray it over carpeted areas. We recommend you use our Outdoor/Indoor Flea Kit to get rid of fleas in and around your home. Please take a few moments to review our article on How to Get Rid of Fleas for a successful eradication program.

    Q
Can Termidor SC be sprayed in a yard to help kill ticks?
    A

Termidor SC is labeled for use on ticks, but it does have a very limited area that it can be used. You can use Termidor SC outdoors only, immediately adjacent or directly on your home. It cannot be used as a broadcast in the yard for tick control. We would recommend our Outdoor Flea and Tick Kit

    Q
What is the best approach to apply Termidor to a raised home on brick pillars?
Our home is raised on brick pillars, and is about 60 years old. Fermosan termites are a big consideration in our area. I'm also curious about using Termidor to spray for ants and spiders under the home, in the crawl space. How often would the Termidor spray treatment be required under the home as a protective barrier?
    A

Termidor SC is sprayed twice a year for general pest control at 0.8 fl oz per gallon of water, sprayed 1 to 2 feet up the foundation and out on the ground.

    Q
How will I know if the Termidor has worked after I applied it to a trench around my house?
How will I know if the Termidor has worked after I applied it to a trench around my house? I want to know if there are active termites inside my home (under my floorboards is where they were before this).
    A

Termidor SC starts to work within a few days of termites contacting a treated area but if you suspect an active infestation you will need to search and locate exactly where in the home they are infesting and spot treat the gallery directly.  Otherwise there is no real way to know if the Termidor in a trench is working. Trenching is only part of protection and treatment for subterranean termites but if you are dealing with drywood, it would not have any effect on the termites since they would never have gone through the treated soil.

    Q
how to treat under slab house without drilling
I believe the nest of the termites attacking our house is directly under it. Our house is on a slab but we cannot drill into it because we have radiant heat in the floors. In my research I've seen it mentioned that you can insert rods under the slab to treat but I cant find more detail on how to best do this...and we would like to do it ourselves. Please advise oh how to do this!
    A

Rodding under the slab of a house from the exterior is a complex and detailed process that we do not recommend attempting yourself. We recommend that you contact a local reputable termite company for an inspection and estimate for something like this. If you have termites in the home, then you can spot treat where there are active termites using a ready-to-use termiticide foam such as Termidor Foam which will transfer throughout the rest of that termite colony.

    Q
What is the reason that Termidor cant be used inside as a spot spray for carpenter ants?
    A
The label of a product is the law, and the manufacturer and the EPA decided on a label that does not permit Termidor to be used indoors for ants or other insect control, only termite control.  We are not sure exactly why, but the label is the law so we cannot recommend using a product against what the label says.  We do have an excellent product to place inside the home for carpenter ants called Maxforce Carpenter ant bait gel.  It is in our carpenter ant kit and has a very high success rate.

    Q
Will Termidor SC kill brown scorpions found in Georgia?
    A
Termidor SC will most likely kill scorpions. Since it is not labeled to do so, we can not tell you how effective it would for this use. We usually recommend Cyper WP for scorpion control. Cyper WP is also available in our scorpion control kit

    Q
How long is Termidor effective indoors when applied as a spot treatment indoors?
    A
Termidor SC can only be used to spot treat for termites in wall voids indoors. When used properly Termidor SC will last for about 6 weeks in wall voids. If you want a longer lasting product for termites in wall voids, Bora-Care would be a good choice.

    Q
What's your opinion on the best approach for termite control, the Bait Systems, Termiticide liquid, or both?
    A
The most superior treatment hands down for termites is a liquid foundation treatment.  This is because the point of the treatment is to completely surround your home.  You should follow the instructions as outlined in our How To Do A Termite Treatment Article.

    Q
For perimeter ant treatment, how long before I can disturb the soil?
I need to treat for carpenter ants, but some of my beds against the house will need some planting, new mulch, etc. Should I re-treat in spots where soil is disturbed? Or will the product still work? It will be almost impossible to just leave that 1-foot band around the house untouched.
    A
When you apply Termidor for ants around the home you should apply 1 foot up onto the foundation and 1 foot out onto the soil.  Even if you do disturb some of the soil, you will still have some residual on the house if any ants are around.  Of course it will not harm anything if you retreat the areas that you disturb.  You should spray at least twice a year for ant control around the home.
