    Q
How long does it take for Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide to become rainfast?
Rain is forecast in 4 hours. Is that long enough to be on the plant?
    A

When using any herbicide like Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide you need to give the product ample time to dry and become rainfast after application.  Depending on weather conditions we suggest giving the product anywhere from 2-4 hours to fully dry.  If rain is in the forecast within the next 4 hours we would suggest waiting for drier conditions.

  • Asked by Noah from Columbus, Oh
    01/28/2018
    Q
How long after the stump is cut is an application of Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide viable?
I realize immediately is preferable but I'm following loggers and can't do it the day of cutting or day after due to weather.
    A

Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide would be best applied as close to cutting the stump as possible, but you can do it the next day if needed.  You just want to be sure it is applied to a fresh cut stump, not one that has been cut weeks prior.

    Q
Can Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide be used on stumps that were cut 2 months ago? Would it still be effective?

Tordon RTU was applied to some bush and tree stumps. We are now seeing wilting of other bushes and perennials
Is there anything we can apply to amend the soil and stop the damage?

  • Asked by Yc from Atlanta, Ga
    06/11/2013
    Q
Which is the better product to remove bradford pear tree stumps and kill suckers? Fertilome or Tordon RTU?
I saw the Fertilome Stump Killer (active ingredient: Triclopyr) and the Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide on your website. Just wondering which will be the most effective stump/ sucker killer for some Bradford Pear trees that we have cut down. There are several triclopyr-based herbicides and wondering which one is the best for this application.
    A
Either product would do a great job. When using a stump killer, you may have to use the product undiluted on some trees and paint it directly on the freshly cut stump for maximum absorption. Since the Tordon has a larger label of trees covered under treatment, we would recommend this over the Fertilome Stump killer. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Asked by Jim from Oxford Ct

    Q
Can Tordon RTU be applied to soil rather than the weed?
Trying to kill Japanese knotweed that I have removed and prevent any regeneration.
    A
We recommend contacting the manufacturer Dow AgroSciences at 800-992-5994 to see if you can use this product in soil. Battleship is our most popular herbicide for knotweed control. Battleship III gives you superior post-emergent control of tough broad-leaf weeds on lawns and other landscaped areas. Its 2,4-D free formulation is effective in cool and warm-season turf.  The advanced "three-way" formulation contains Triclopyr, Fluroxypyr and MCPA in an easy-to-use liquid formulation.

  • Asked by Thomas from Queenstown
    05/27/2018
    Q
After applying Tordon RTU, how long do I need to wait before I can weed-eat?
    A

With most herbicide products, we say not to weedeat/mow any treated area for at least 2-3 days prior to use and at least 3 days after use as well. Since Tordon RTU is geared to go after harded to kill plants like brush and stumps, you may want to give it a little longer before cutting to ensure that it is fully absorbed by the plant.
