Humane, lethal chipmunk dispatcher
By Dirtdigginmama on 06/14/2018
At my wits end with chipmunks ruining my garden and flower beds, but didn't want to poison or drown them (so nasty.) So I decide to try this RAT trap. Figured it was big and tough enough to do the job. It's the best! Easy to bait, dump the carcass, clean and reset. No problems. Seem to be catching them early in the morning. Just pay attention to where they run, and set it in their pathway. Squeeze til it stops to fully set it. Worth every $$!!

Trapper T-Rex
By Gen on 07/06/2016
Having a continual chipmunk problem with them burrowing under sidewalks, driveway and into 4' window wells, I've been using an old exterior Protecta bait & trap station that had a snap trap that finally gave way. I purchased the T-Rex as a replacement and so far after 12 catches, it works great. Fits into Protecta trap compartment perfectly, the bait tray is ample sized. Easier and safer to set compared to wire snap traps and cleans up easy too with the large setting lever. Highly recommended.

Fierce looking trap, but no rat.
By Gunnha on 10/29/2014
I found my back porch full of rat droppings and bought 3 of these T-Rex's. After cleaning out the porch, set the traps with peanut butter, I waited. All 3 traps got tripped in the morning, but no rats. Waited again, again, and again. 2 weeks now, and every night the traps got sprung. Still no rats. The only good thing is that the rats don't seem to hang around after setting off the traps (the traps make a hell of a bang) and I have a lot less rat droppings to wash off. For that I gave T-Rex the extra star.

Things run off
By Rose on 07/01/2016
So, we set this, tied it down as others recommended. The T Rex chomps down on the critter, and they are able to pull themselves free because the critters use the tie down as traction to keep pulling themselves out. Not good.

T-REX RAT TRAP
By Ivette on 05/05/2017
The T-REX Rat Trap works so well and it's so easy to use! I was really apprehensive about getting a traditional rat trap. I never used one and was scared that it might trigger while trying to set it. But the T-Rex rat trap was so easy set. I got that rat first try! I highly recommend the T-Rex rat trap from DoMyOwnPestControl. They have everything you need and the prices are very reasonable. They get an A+ from me!

Traps Go Missing
By Bryan on 07/31/2018
I'm having a hard time recommending this item. On the one hand, I've caught several rats and chipmunks with it and it performed flawlessly. It's easy to set, reset, clean, and bait. However, of the four I originally ordered, I now only have one left. The other three have disappeared. My assumption is that an animal was only partially trapped, but not killed, and ran off with the trap. I hate the idea of that as I don't want them to suffer. This product would be better if it had a method of anchoring to a solid surface.

T-Rex Rat Trap
By Robert on 03/27/2011
I had these traps for two weeks and haven't trapped a rat yet. Changed bait in the traps and put them in different places, nothing. The old conventional trap that has a spring bar has trapped four rats using the same bait. Why doesn't the new ones work, I do not know. Will keep using them and hopefully they will trap a rat. Any help please.

Work great on chipmunks
By Craig on 02/28/2013
I had caught a red squirrel in a have a catch and release trap. I took it down to the creek a let it go in the middle of the bridge. Who would have thought it would jump in the creek. Well when my wife told me the chipmunks were eating her strawberries I didn't want to go thru that experience again so I got some of T-Rex Rat Traps. Boy do they work good. You have to tie them down so the critter doesn't run away with it if they don't get killed right away.

Rat Trap

not really sure
By F on 10/06/2014
Pro: its not sensitive like the original wood traps where I think im going to rip a finger off trying to set it up. Very easy to use No metallic smell which im told is good Con: so im not sure if they had nyc rodents in mind when making this. It must not be a bad product because it did catch the rodents but now the problem was it never caught them "dead". Every rodent ive caught had a bout 2-3 traps on itself. One on his tail, feets, side belly?? It was odd yet funny and then felt miserable that the thing was still alive. Overall I have to say the wood trap is you best bet. Just use proper bait and sesame oil of some sort of fragrance to conceal the smell of metallic parts.

T Rex Rat Trap
By Brittany on 12/29/2014
After I saw a rat in our trash for a couple days, I decided to order the TRex Rat Trap. Even though it's made of plastic, it certainly gets the job done. I was worried that it would leave the rat suffering or clip a limb but to my surprise, it worked perfectly. All you have to do is place food in the center and set it outside. I set the trap before bed and woke up to a dead rat. It was quick and painless. The rat we caught was the length of my hand so I wouldn't suggest this type of trap if you have a huge "cat-sized" rat. Other than that, it's a wonderful trap. Shipping was FAST too!!!

Need stronger spring
By Rick on 11/17/2017
I am disappointed with the T-Rex Rat Trap. I baited mine with cheese and put it in a bait box that is made for it and that I also purchased on DoMyOwn. After a couple days the trap was sprung, and there was ample evidence it had been visited. I found dirt from outside the trap, and some small scratch marks inside the bait box. Evidently the trap was not strong enough to kill or for that matter even hold its victim. Its either that or I have super rats. Not likely. My regular old fashion (old platform and metal trap parts) rat trap got a kill.

T-Rex Rat Trap
By Sally on 12/08/2017
This is the best trap ever! Very effective, easy to load the bait(peanut butter), easy to empty and they last a long time. You never have to touch the captured, deceased critter. I have trapped 220 pack rats over the last four years. We moved to a rural area and they were everywhere. They have thinned out considerably. You won't go wrong with these traps.

I have used these to keep the rat population down around my hen house. They work fantastic just make sure you keep them away from the chickens. I recommend you get the black house to put the trap in so no other animals get caught.

Red Rats
By Mike on 07/26/2011
There are no rats where I live. Rather, from time to time, my outbuildings become infested with red squirrels. They chew everything to pieces and haul in bushels of bedding material (leaves, grass, etc.). They also cache vast amounts of alder or spruce cones. The T-Rex is the best solution. It is easy to use, dependably and mercifully dispatching the little devils. Over the last six days T-Rex has helped me remove seven red squirrels from my buildings. It helps to attach the traps to something solid with a length of light chain or wire. When the jaws snap down on the squirrel there is always a "death spasm" that can propel trap and squirrel some distance.
