TurfMark is widely used in pre-treatments for termites during the construction of a new home. If you are treating the foundation studs with a product like Boracare which dries clear, an inspector would have no idea where or if the wood was sprayed. and....how long will the color stay?
Have been told I have powder post beetles in rear covered porch joists. Wood is exposed, so I would like to not turn the wood blue permenantly. Also, area to be treated is 350 square feet. Terminex wants to charge $350 + tax to treat. Is that a fair price, or should I try doing it myself (estimates of buying bora care, the turf mark tablets, and sprayer is about $175).

two answers conflict on color tint wearing off. one says color is permanent and another says it wears off in 2 days. Which one is correct. I want to stain the wood after treating it so do not want to have the blue color change the stain results.
When Turf Mark Blue Tablets are mixed with an herbicide or insecticide and applied to a lawn it will break down in sunlight and moisture within 1-2 days per the label. If used on wood that is not exposed to the elements it can permanently dye the wood blue. So both answers are correct; it all depends on the application.
Will the blue color be visible if Trimec 992 is applied with a sprayer as directed?
