HOW DO I USE THIS PRODUCT
When preparing a new planting bed:
Spread 1-1/3 cups of ULTRAGREEN evenly over each 50 sq. ft. (5' x 10') of area to be planted. Mix it into the soil to a depth of 4-6 inches, along with any compost or other soil amendments that are added.
For individual small plants (individual vegetable or strawberry transplants, bedding plants, annuals, perennials, herbs and bulbs) and for planting containers:
Mix 1-1/2 tsp. of ULTRAGREEN into the soil at the bottom of the planting hole before setting in the plant or bulb. Do not let the roots directly touch the plant food.
When planting new roses:
Use 1-1/2 tsp. per bareroot rose and 1 tbsp. for roses in 2 gallon pots.
When transplanting established roses:
Use 1/4 cup for a small rose (under 3' tall) and 1/2 cup for a large rose (over 3' tall). Mix evenly with the soil used to refill the planting hole. Do not let the roots directly touch the plant food.
For fruit trees, grapes, and berries:
Use 2 tsp. for bareroot plants, 1 tbsp. for plants in 3 gallon pots, and up to 1/2 cup when transplanting established trees and vines. Mix evenly with soil used to refill the planting hole. Do not let the roots directly touch the plant food.
When planting new ornamental trees, shrubs, and vines:
Use 2 tsp. for bareroot plants, 1 tbsp. for plants in 3 gallon pots, and up to 1/2 cup when transplanting established trees, shrubs, and vines. Mix evenly with soil used to refill the planting hole. Do not let the roots directly touch the plant food.
For ground covers:
Spread 1-1/3 cups of ULTRAGREEN evenly over each 50 sq. ft. (5' x 10') of area to be planted. Mix it into the soil to a depth of 4-6 inches, along with any compost or other soil amendments that are added.
When feeding established plants:
Side-dress flowers, vegetables, and bulbs using 1-1/3 cups ULTRAGREEN for 50 feet of row or 50 sq. ft. (5' x 10') of soil surface. For established shrubs and trees, spread evenly in a wide band under the dripline beneath the outer leaves. Keep plant food at least 6 inches from trunks or stems. Use 1/4 cup for established plants less than 3' tall; 1/2 cup for established plants more than 3' tall. Apply only to well-hydrated plants. Do not apply directly to plant foliage. Scratch lightly into the soil surface, taking care not to damage shallow roots. Always water plants and soil well after adding fertilizer.

The leaves are turning inward and falling off the plant. I put as much fertilizer as I normally do with Osmocote which I haven't had a problem with. I have now removed all the fertilizer off the top of the surface and will be watering in and hoping to diminish the effects.
