GREAT mouse trap!
By Eric on 07/25/2010
I've tried other types of snap traps, glues, bait boxes – nothing comes close to the simple Victor trap (I've tried the yellow Victor traps and didn't like them as much, they're too sensitive). With glues the mice usually end up alive, peeping in pain, it's awful. With baits the mouse ends up dying somewhere and smelling up the place. These snap traps are a quick kill with a very high mortality rate. I've had a few super speedy mice escape the trap, but this is very rare. Put a little peanut butter on it, mice can't resist it.

Victor Mouse Trap

Cheap and still the best
By Chris on 09/13/2010
I have used these for years. They just work, and can be re used many times. They are getting hard to find, over the more "high tech" or "pre baited" (Don't work) snappers, and glue or poison. I opt out of poison for a home, since the rodent can die in the walls (pew) and glue can take days to kill (cruel)The only problem is that kids and other disturbances can set them off, and effective baiting takes a little practice. Why re-invent the wheel? Great trap and dirt cheap! Thanks for the very speedy service.

Victor M040 is a Stone Cold Killer
By Steve on 11/04/2010
This is it, the single best mousetrap on the market. Buy a bunch and deploy them all. You can tune the trigger tongue for maximal sensitivity... to get even the most clever mice. These work. I had a couple of very sneaky city mice that were just too smart for the crummy new-style traps. I got a kill on night one with these, and got a mouse a night for a week afterward. The infestation is now over, thanks to the effectiveness of these traps.

Mouse traps not available locally
By Lynda on 11/19/2010
We were VERY pleased to be able to order these traps online. We had a mouse outbreak in the neighborhood and only had OLD traps -- not sensitive enough and were being "robbed" regularly. When I ordered from another company closer, the items were back ordered. With the help of Google, we found this company further away, but they shipped our order quickly. We are very thankful for such efficient service! Mice are now gone..........

Go with the pro
By Harrold on 01/19/2011
I've been using the traditional Victor mouse traps for years and just recently tried the Pro model. I strongly recommend the Pro model, it's the one with the plastic yellow bait holder and is easier to set. I've tried Tomcat and Pic traps, but they're not sensitive enough. The mouse either gets the bait or gets brutally injured and then I have to kill it to put it out of it's misery. I'm having a 100 percent kill rate with these traps. It's the most cost effective way to deal with minor to moderate mouse problems especially if you have pets. I don't like poison because the mouse dies and you don't know where it is. It could be stinking up the place and you'll never find it.

Great trap but beware!
By Jess on 05/19/2011
I'm currently debating whether to purchase this "old style" trap or go with the yellow trigger model. The yellow trigger model is less likely to snap your finger and you can set it very sensitive by pushing the pedal down till the trigger bar "lip" is just barely engaged by the trigger rod---sensitive! But, the old style traps seem to have a slightly better catch ratio. Plus, where can you buy the old style anymore? There, I've convinced myself! I'm ordering a full case of these old style!

Victor M040 mouse traps
By Jess on 06/09/2011
Finally was able to find a place that sold the old style victor mouse traps with the metal trigger pan! Got a full case of 72 and at a super great price. These traps can't be beat. The newer, plastic pan, traps are ok but the metal pan seems to do a bit better. DoMyOwnPestControl.com is the place to shop!

Victor Mouse Trap M040--Very Effective
By Mark on 09/21/2011
I had previously used Victor Mouse Traps to kill mice that enter the attached garage when the weather turns cool and found them to be very effective when baited with peanut butter. Unfortunately, they are hard to find locally and I tried a couple of other brands such as Tomcat (from Lowe's) which were "mouse feeders" more often than mouse traps. DoMyOwnPestControl has one of the lowest per-trap prices I found and delivery was prompt. We're sharing with a couple of other families and the 72 traps should satisfy our needs for several fall seasons. BTW, the Victor Mouse trap with the yellow trigger also works well when baited with peanut butter, but is no more effective than model M040 and costs more.

Best bang (er, snap) for your buck
By Mouse-free on 11/06/2011
Victor traps have sleek, smooth brass that does not add resistance to the release of the spring. No oxidation and they are so sensitive, I've only used 5 to clear my garage of mice. No traps were cleaned of peanut butter, it "got" them on the first nibble. I ordered 72 so I would have a lifetime (mine) supply. Much more humane than poison; no better way to reign death down on the nasty vermin.

Victor Mouse traps via internet
By Jane on 08/11/2012
I love these "old Fashioned" traps and they are reliable and easy to set, unlike the "new" ones with the plastic pedal for bait. I live in an OLD house and believe these traps are safest (no poison) as I have other animals, and more humane (quick death) than the sticky pads, etc. I could not find them in local stores and was pleased to locate them on internet.

Old-Tyme Workhorse Does the Job
By Snowtrekker7 on 09/02/2012
My problem was voles digging up my garden. I had purchased some Tomcat brand mouse traps at our local grocery store. After putting them into use, two of them broke, several set themselves off with nothing caught and 3 had the "cheese" square pop off. So I ordered a dozen Victor mouse traps with the metal bait station. Wow! I could see the difference right away. The Victor trap has a much more powerful spring mechanism and the metal parts and method of attachment to the wooden base are sturdier than the same on the Tomcat traps. When I put the Victor traps into use, I quickly caught 6 voles with no damage to the traps.

Fast Shipping - The best traps
By Bob on 12/16/2012
This was shipped very fast; ordered on a weekend and had it within a couple of days. I could only find the traps with the plastic cheese bait - which mainly served to feed my growing mouse population in my garage. No where near sensitive enough. I even watched one mouse feeding off it. The first night I set out 4 of these and got four mice; in fact, I got 11 the first few nights, the bait was taken without it tripping only once. Is 72 too many? I live in a subdivision surrounded by a dairy farm; I prefer not to reuse if I can. I am sure I will use all of them over time - and no more looking in stores for them! I am very happy with my purchase from this company!
