Unfortunately, we cannot give advice using Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide for any golf turf due to the sensitive nature of the turf and the liability if the turf gets damaged. We apologize for this inconvenience.
We would not recommend tank mixing Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide with Triplet SF. Acclaim requires the use o a surfactant whereas the Triplet does not and using one could reduce selectivity on turfgrass.
Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide can be tank mixed with Tenacity and other pre and post emergent herbicides as well as insecticides and fungicides.
Please refer to DIRECTIONS FOR USE OF ACCLAIM IN TANK MIXES section on page 3 of the product label for instructions on how to test compatibility.
Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide can be reapplied if needed after 3 to 4 weeks or more depending on the weeds you are targeting and the type of turfgrass you have. Overapplying or overmixing herbicides can risk serious injury to your turfgrass or kill it completely. Please view the product label for more information.
When intending to tank mix various herbicides, including Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide and Sedgehammer Herbicide, both product labels should be referred to regarding tank mixture restrictions, always adhering to the most restrictive label. If tank mixtures are not prohibited on the labels, mixing a small jar test for compatibility purposes is recommended, prior to mixing a full tank.
Unfortunately there aren't going to be any selective herbicides on the market that we are aware of that would be able to selectively remove bermuda from a buffalograss lawn. They are both warm season grasses and buffalo is typically considered the same tolerance level to chemicals or more sensitive to certain chemicals than bermuda is, and would likely be damaged by anything strong enough to take out the Bermuda. You would need to very carefully spot spray the bermuda with a non selective herbicide like glyphosate or an alternative, or hand remove/dig it out to reduce spread. Please let us know if you need anything else.
Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide will not kill poa annua as it is listed as a tolerant grass type on the product label.
Because poa annua(annual bluegrass) and cool season turfgrasses such as fescue are so closely related, there are very few products that will kill the Poa Annua without also harming the Fescue. The only one we are currently aware of is called Prograss, and it is very expensive. Your other options would be to either spot-treat with a Roundup-type product and then reseed with the Fescue in those areas, or you can use a pre-emergent like Prodiamine 65 WDG in the fall to prevent the poa from growing in the first place.
Acclaim Extra is compatible in tank mixes with many other commonly used herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers. We always recommend that you test a small, inconspicuous area first before mixing any products together. Yes, you can use Acclaim Extra as a spot treatment or broadcast treatment.
We highly recommend doing a Tank Compatibility test when used together in one application. Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide is great for Johnsongrass and Crabgrass and Sedgehammer Herbicide is the best product for nutsedge control. The Acclaim label states it is compatible with other herbicides, yet the Sedgehammer Herbicide only states it can be tank mixed with Glyphosate. You will find the compatibility test on page 4 of the Acclaim Extra label, follow these instructions to see if both products can be used together. If you find that the Acclaim and Sedgehammer are not compatible, then you may spot treat with the Sedgehammer where the nutsedge is growing.
Acclaim Extra Herbicide is labeled for use around Cosmos and Zinnias, but it is not labeled safe for use around Sunflowers. Please be sure to review the product label for more information and complete application instructions.
A product such as Grass Out Max along with a Non Ionic Surfactant would be another option to control grassy weeds around flowers and ornamentals.
View the product label for application rates and more information.
The Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide Product Label gives a variety of use rates per acre based on the weed species being targeted and the growth stage of those grassy weeds. You can review the digital copy of the label on our site or through the link in this message to see all the details and break down of use rates. If you need assistance in determining the proper use rate, please let us know what the desirable grass type is that you will be spraying over, as well as the specific grassy weeds you are targeting within that grass.
Yes, we recommend to apply Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide as spot treatment on less windy days for Stiltgrass control in Bermuda.
Acclaim Extra cannot be used in pastures where horses graze. Unfortunately we are not aware of a product that is safe for use in pastures that will kill Japanese stiltgrass. We would recommend contacting your local agricultural department for advice on what others in your area how found effective.
EndRun Herbicide could be used s a tank mix and is labeled for Virginia Buttonweed.
Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide can be applied when the bermudagrass is actively growing and the ground is not frozen and temperature is below 90 degrees Fahrenheit. For the best results, repear applications every 4-6 weeks for up to 5 applications depends on your local conditions. Do not apply more than 120 fl. oz. per acre per growing season.
Acclaim is not labeled to be used on any edibles at all. If you can give us more information about what type(s) of weeds you need to treat for, we can help you find a product that will fit your needs.
Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide is labeled to control sandbur but does not list bahiagrass as a tolerable turf species for application. Are you seeking post control or preventative application?
