Product Overview

Advion Cockroach Gel Bait is a professional-strength roach killer trusted by pest control experts and homeowners. Formulated with the powerful, non-repellent active ingredient Indoxacarb, Advion roach gel targets a wide range of cockroach species, including German, American, and Oriental roaches while delivering fast, comprehensive control through a proven domino effect.

After ingestion, the delayed-action formula gives cockroaches time to return to their hiding spots, where they spread the bait to other roaches through contact, feces, and consumption of the carcasses. This chain reaction eliminates entire roach colonies, even bait-averse roaches.

Ideal for both indoor and outdoor use, Advion cockroach bait is easy to apply in cracks, crevices, and other common roach hiding places. Use it in homes, restaurants, warehouses, hospitals, hotels, and other commercial or industrial spaces for reliable results. Each 30g tube provides up to 60 bait placements, making it a cost-effective solution for infestations of any size.

We provide 1 Plunger PER ORDER to expel the bait from the tubes. You can purchase extra plungers or you can purchase a bait gun for use with this product. We recommend the Masterline professional bait gun.

Details

Advion Cockroach Gel Bait delivers fast, effective roach control in residential and commercial spaces, using food-based ingredients to attract all major roach species, so one treated roach can help eliminate more of the colony.

How Advion Roach Gel Works

Once cockroaches consume Advion Cockroach Gel Bait, the delayed-action formula allows them time to return to their hiding places before dying. This lets infected roaches contaminate others through contact, droppings, or consumption, leading to widespread control. Each poisoned roach can impact up to 40 others. This chain reaction dramatically reduces roach populations, even in severe infestations.

For more information on eliminating roach infestations, see our guide how to get rid of roaches.

Application Guidelines for Advion Roach Bait Gel

Indoor Applications:

Apply Advion gel bait in cracks, crevices, and voids where roaches hide; behind appliances, under sinks, around plumbing, and within wall voids. Use 1–5 pea-sized spots every 10 linear feet, depending on infestation severity.

Outdoor Applications:

Place Advion roach gel near roach entry points like doors, windows, utility lines, and around dumpsters or garbage areas. Protect gel from rain, sun, and dust by placing it in sheltered cracks and crevices.

Application Rates:

  • Heavy infestations: 3–5 spots per 10 linear feet
  • Light to moderate infestations: 1–3 spots per 10 linear feet
  • Bead applications: Thin lines (<1/8” wide, ~2” long)

Bait Application Spot Size:

Each spot should be ~0.5 grams (about ¼” diameter). One 30g tube provides up to 60 placements. A box of 4 tubes delivers ~240 placements.

Infestation Levels & Bait Usage:

Stick Trap Monitors: When using a sticky trap to monitor infestation levels, use the below for the recommended amount of Advion Gel Bait.

  • 15-30 Cockroaches = 0.25 syringe or bait tube (7g)
  • 30-50 Cockroaches = 0.5 bait tube (15g)
  • 50-100 Cockroaches = 1 bait tube (30g)
  • 100-300 Cockroaches = 2-3 bait tubes (60-90g)

Visual Inspection Estimation: When doing a visual inspection to estimate infestation levels, use the below chart for the recommended amount of Advion Gel Bait.

  • 1-10 Cockroaches = 0.25 syringe or bait tube (7g)
  • 10-20 Cockroaches = 0.5 bait tube (15g)
  • 20-50 Cockroaches = 1 bait tube (30g)
  • More than 50 Cockroaches = 2-3 bait tubes (60-90g)

Application rate is dependent on level of infestation.

Tips for Maximum Effectiveness

  • Do not apply Advion cockroach bait on surfaces treated with residual insecticide sprays.
  • Do not spray surfaces where Advion roach bait gel has been applied with residual insecticides.
  • Reapply bait if it's eaten or dried out. Regular inspections are key.
  • Keep bait away from food contact surfaces and high-heat areas (over 130°F).
  • Avoid applying porous surfaces like cardboard and concrete to prevent drying.
  • Combine with good sanitation—remove food crumbs, grease, and water sources.

Pro Tip: Rotate Advion Cockroach Gel Bait with other bait products every few months if results slow to avoid resistance. See our entire selection of roach baits for additional options.

    Worked like a miracle

    By Gail on 06/12/2007

My husband and I could hardly believe it. The Advion Cockroach Gel Bait worked like a miracle. My husband used it first on Saturday morning, 6/9/07. The next day most of the gel had been eaten off the back of our dog feeder (against the wall, so the dogs couldn't get it). That had been the roach's favorite hunting ground. I applied some more, and by that night they were, for the most part, gone. Today is Tuesday and they're GONE! I actually bought way too much, so I am going to help out two of my friends, who each have problems that they haven't been able to fix. I know that with one tube each, their problems will be over. It really is a miraculous product. Thank you so much for having such a wonderful product.

    Another WOW!

    By David on 02/14/2010

I've never felt compelled to write a review like this, but here goes... After moving into my dream house I discovered I had a huge roach problem. Every morning when I snapped on the lights in the kitchen you see them scurrying everywhere. Even the exterminator coming several times brought no salvation. After reading the reviews here, I bought some Advion and went to work putting it out as recommended. The next morning when I went into the kitchen I was greeted by DOZENS of dead or dying roaches. I have not seen a live one in days. If you have a roach problem, look no further!

Attractive Gel (the key is dots)

    By Ron on 06/17/2009

    Verified Purchase

I have bait resistant roaches in my area. I put this down with about 8 small dots on a 1"x2 index card in several areas of the home (I don't like gel on cabinets). About 2 hours later, the bait behind the fridge was gone, in cabinets around the home, gone, under the table gone. Advion Roach Bait Gel is the best attractive bait I have seen, it draws the bugs out and feeds them their last meal!! Buy the bait gun for easy control of putting down the dots.

    German Cockroaches

    By William on 05/26/2010

This stuff is AMAZING!!!! I tried several different brands of store brought bug spray. Several different types of roach baits. I was getting up in the middle of the night to spray the roach infestation in my kitchen. Nothing even put a dent in the roach population. After ONE (yup one) application of Advion.....NO ROACHES!! If you have a German cockroach problem, BUY THIS STUFF!!! It really really works!!

    NO MORE ROACHES

    By Joe on 02/09/2013

    Verified Purchase

I was at the end of my rope. I had a case of cockroaches in my old house that changed the way I looked at life. They would crawl over you when you slept at night, they completely take over the kitchen and bathroom at night, come out at the dinner table when we ate, making it impossible to invite people to your home for the embarrassment you would feel. I tried store bought insecticides until the home was unlivable because of fumes, but still no change in the amount of roaches. I was thinking of selling the house and moving. In desperation I tried ADVION GEL, and to my surprise, almost overnight, they (the roaches) were gone!!! It was miraculous, the way it wiped out a problem that I honestly thought was too severe to ever change. I cannot put into words the gratitude I feel for the people who made this stuff.

Q
What if my dog eats a cockroach that has ingested the Advion Roach Bait Gel?
A

There is no need to worry about any type of issues from your dog eating roaches that have been in contact with Advion Roach Bait Gel. There is only enough insecticide in these products to kill a roach, not enough to have any effect on a mammal.

Q
How often do you put Advion Roach Bait Gel out. For instance, every 30 days or every 90 days?
A
You should place Advion Roach Bait Gel out as often as needed.  You should only apply roach gel out if you have a problem.  If you do not have a problem, you should not place roach gel out as it is a food that will attract roaches, you do not want to attract a problem if you don't have one.  If you do have a current roach issue, you should apply as often as you need to.  In bad infestations, you may need to apply weekly if the roaches are eating it that fast.

Q
Is the Advion Roach Bait Gel still working when it dries up?

I noticed that the gel dries up after 2-3 days, and gets hard. Is it still going to work?

A
The gel will work even after it hardens though it does work best when it is soft. The gel will dry out quickly if you place it on a porous surface or if you place it in an area where it is exposed to air currents (heating or cooling vents). You can help avoid these situations by placing the Advion Roach Bait Gel in disposable bait plate stations.  Bait Plate Stations are low-profile, economic and easy-to-use plastic stations that hold gel, liquid and granular baits for ants, roaches and other crawling insects.

Q
How do you know when a bait is not working ?

I purchased/applied Advion Roach Bait Gel bait about a week ago, and I'm not seeing any roaches that are attracted to it. I have smokey Brown Nymphs and i tried hand feeding one and it just wanted nothing to do with it. one thing I think I've done wrong is contaminated my baits with Talstar pro. so I've placed the baits where i have not sprayed. Ive just ordered the Maxforce FC Magnum in hopes that they will like that. Nymphs are supposed to eat this/ be attracted to baits when younger right ? Ive also purchased a birth inhibitor which i plan on mixing with my Talstar but I'm afraid of contaminating my baits again. any help would be appreciated. i just cant seem to get rid of these nymphs and i know the big boy stage is on its way.

A
Roaches will always ignore baits that have been contaminated with insecticides, perfumes or even cigarette smoke so it is important to keep the bait away from these contaminants. Roach bait gel should be placed in small dabs directly into cracks and crevices in cabinets, drawers, around sinks, counter tops, in food cabinets and any other area where you are seeing activity. Talstar + Gentrol on the other hand should only be sprayed around door frames, window frames and directly into cracks and crevices around baseboards and in cracks and crevices around utilities (cables, pipes, wires) that enter through the wall. Never apply the products in the same exact area. It is also important to make sure the kitchen and surrounding areas are spotless each day while you are trying to eliminate the roaches. Leave no crumbs or dishes in the sink at night, take out trash every night, and make sure all counter tops are wiped down thoroughly. One week is not enough time to determine if a roach bait gel is working. You need to give a bait severeal weeks to see if you notice a difference in a roach population. Heavy infestations can take several months to get rid of no matter what products you use.

A

The manufacturer does not label Advion Roach Bait Gel with an expiration date but is good for up to 5 years. We recommend that you use the bait within one year from the date of purchase to ensure freshness. Be sure to store the bait in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight.
