    Q
    More big 1in. Roaches
I would see tiny tiny baby roaches come out alot more than 1inch sized roaches. I'm seeing alot of dead or dying roaches awesome but I'm also seeing more of the 1in roaches come out. I just wanted to know why?
    A
Roaches will lay eggs behind wall voids and in dark crevices that may hatch out over long periods of time. As the adults that were present die out, the babies that are hatching will emerge looking for food and water resources. It can take several months to completely eliminate all the life cycles that could emerge over time from hidden egg sacs. As long as you are keeping the bait supply out for them to find, and doing all the other necessary steps to properly control and stop roach populations, you will see the colony completely eliminated.

    Q
What happens to the Advion gel bait after a fumigation?
I have been using Advion for 3 days and it's working really well ...I'm really happy with the product. My landlord just informed me that they are going to fumigate in 2-3 weeks. Will the gel work after the fumigation? Can I continue to use Advion after the fumigation ends ?
    A
Typically Advion has to be replaced/refreshed every 14 days.  Generally it is applied where foggers will not reach anyway. You could wipe up gel just before the fogging application and reapply once the fog has settled.

    Q
Electronics and using Advion Cockroach Gel Bait
I have a bit on a roach infestation. It's gradually getting worse no matter what I do. I was recommended this product by my sister and there are roaches living in my tv and almost all my electronics. Very aggravating. I don't want to just stick the gel in my tv so how would I apply the gel to my electronics to kill them?
    A

You can use Advion Roach Bait Gel in bait plate stations and place the stations under and on your electronics. This will keep your electronics safe from the bait but keep it available for the roaches. Additionally, please take some time to read over our roach control guide. When infestations are large, you will need to implement a full roach control program to eliminate the roaches.

    Q
What happens if the Advion Cockroach gets wet? Does it loose its effectiveness?
I applied the gel bait in cracks that are in my kitchen floor under my cabinets, I mop every day and clean with bleach and pine sol, cane this contaminate the bait that is on the floor ?
    A

The Advion Cockroach will not be effective and the insects will avoid it is being contaminated by the cleaning agents. Baits should be placed up high or in bait plate stations if using down low. We have a great video here that shows where to apply the bait.

    Q
Should I still kill roaches on sight after applying Advion or let them return to poison their nest?
I can't find much info about this strategy. I've been killing any roach I've seen.
    A

As difficult as it can be to see a roach and not kill it, that is the ideal approach when baiting with Advion Cockroach bait gel or using transfer products that are designed to get carried back to the nest. While killing a few here and there will not heavily impact your results, you would want to try and allow those you see out foraging for food to live and take the bait back to the ones in hiding at the source of your problem.

    Q
Why aren't the roaches eating the Advion anymore?
1st round work awesome second and their batch they not eating it why ??please help
    A

The Advion Roach Bait Gel should be applied once every two weeks (cleaning up old bait placements prior to new applications) to keep the roaches attracted to the product. Depending on the size of the colony, it can take at least several weeks to a month or so to eliminate the entire population. If you have used the same bait for several months, then we would recommend rotating with a different bait to prevent bait aversion. Good rotation choices would include Maxforce FC Magnum or Maxforce Impact Roach Bait Gel.You can see our Roach Control Guide to go over all of the steps necessary to eliminate an entire roach population, as techniques beyond baiting will be needed for success.

    Q
How long for treatment with Advion Cockroach Gel Bait?
Hello, About 7 weeks ago, we noticed an adult roach in the living room. Then 3 weeks later, saw 1 baby nymph on the kitchen counter. My baby and I live in an ~800 sqft apt. We bought Advion bait and Gentrol Source Point. 1) How long should we continue to treat with the Advion Bait and how often should we re-apply the bait? 2) How long to continue the Gentrol Source Point treatments for? 3) When can we expect the roaches to be completely dead? 4) Should we apply to every room or is that too much? Even rooms where we do not see any activity? 5) Would an egg be affected by the Gentrol making them sterile? Or a roach carrying an egg be affected by the Gentrol (making egg + mom sterile)? Do they need constant exposure to Gentrol or if they pass through 1x it would be effect to affect them (meaning should I overdose them with it?) 6) Should I put one high up on the cabinets so the vapor can fall past the cabinets, get to the stove and on the counters? 7) If I don't use the oven, can I put Gentrol behind the stove? 8) What happens if they bypass the Gentrol, does that meant that I can expect them to live another 12 mths. How can I prevent that? Thanks so much!
    A

When treating for active roaches, you will need to replace bait placements using Advion Cockroach Gel Bait every 10-14 days. Roach baits need to be rotated after 60-90 days as a resistance can develop. Our Roach Control Kits A, B & C contain everything you need to treat for roaches by rotating the bait in the kits. Click here to view the Roach Control Kit page.

Along with spraying the baseboards, under cabinets, behind appliances, under sinks, around windows, etc with a residual spray like Temprid FX. Temprid FX is mixed at 8ml to 16ml per gallon of water. We would recommend treating the entire interior of the home with focus on the rooms where activity has been seen.

Gentrol Point Source packs last for 90 days. Place the packs on top of cabinets, refridgerators, on side of walls, etc about 1-2 ft down from the ceiling. It is one Gentrol Pointe Source pack every 75 sq ft area needed to treat. Once the Gentrol Place Pack has been activate, you can leave it be, there is no routine maintenance required. Roaches are affected without having to contact the disk. Gentrol cannot be used in any appliances.

Please view our How to Get Rid of Roaches Treatment Guide for detailed information on how to fully treat and eradicate for roaches.

    Q
Should I put out Advion Cockroach Gel Bait if I haven't seen roaches?
I'm moving into a new apartment and I want to pest proof as much as I can. Should I use Advion gel as a prevention method if I haven't seen any roaches? Or will it attract roaches that might not have entered normally?
    A

We would not advise on using Advion Cockroach Gel Bait if there is not any signs of roaches. If you want to be proactive and use a pest control product we would advise on using a perimeter insecticide like Temprid FX

    Q
How long should I leave on Advion Cockroach for cockroaches before I can mop the floors and clean?
I have just applied the gel in cracks on the floor and walls/corners etc. I just want to know how long it will take until I can bleach my floors and clean my house again? I don't want to undo the gel bait properties
    A

We recommend cleaning areas before you apply a roach bait such as Advion Cockroach Gel Bait. Baits are going to be freshest for about 2 weeks, so if you were to use cleaning products directly on or around bait placements before they have been eaten, then you would need to put out fresh bait after cleaning. We have an excellent Roach Treatment Guide here to assist you with treating for this pest.

    Q
How much does it take for a small house
    A
One box of the Advion Cockroach Gel Bait would be enough for a small home. How much bait you use depends on the infestation you have. You would use 3 to 5 spots of gel bait per 10 linear feet for heavy infestations or 1 to 3 spots of gel bait per 10 linear feet for light to moderate infestation. Please see our video on How to Use Advion Roach Bait Gel here

    Q
Roaches will not eat the advion gel I put out, what can I do about that
    A

It is normal for some roaches to not go directly to a bait such as Advion Roach Bait Gel and eat it. It can often be that they are feeding on some that has been brought back to the colony already, feeding on the feces of the adults, or feeding on other dead roaches. They also could be looking for water or other materials and not currently foraging for the bait. Depending on the size of the colony, it can take at least several weeks to a month or so to eliminate the entire population. If you have used the same bait for several months, than we would recommend rotating with a different bait to prevent bait aversion. Good rotation choices would include Maxforce FC Magnum or Maxforce Impact Roach Bait Gel.

    Q
Will the Advion Cockroach Gel Bait harm cats?
    A

When applying bait placements of Advion Roach Bait Gel, apply small green pea size amounts to areas that are out of reach from pets and kids such as in cracks and crevices, in top corners of cabinets, inside drawers, behind appliances, etc. The amount of active ingredient that is lethal to roaches or other small insects is typically not enough to harm larger animals such as dogs or cats.

    Q
How long must I wait to use Roach Kit A or apply Advion Roach Bait Gel if I've already sprayed with Ortho insecticide?
    A

You can apply Advion Cockroach Gel Bait anytime in areas where you have not applied a spray such as an Ortho product. A good way to remember this rule is "spray low and bait high". Otherwise, we recommend waiting about 2 weeks to apply bait gel to spots where you have just applied a residual insecticide.

We have more tips on how to treat for roaches in our online guide here.

    Q
Is Advion Cockroach Gel Bait recommended for American Roaches?
    A

Advion Cockroach Gel Bait can be used for both American and German roaches as well.

It is recommended when treating for roaches to use an aggressive treatment program using a combination of a residual spray, roach bait and insect growth regulator as found in our Roach Control Kits. These kits Roach Control Kits provide enough product for the initial treatment and follow up treatments that are required every 10-14 days. The kits are set up on a rotation program - Rotation Kit A is a good clean out treatment to start with for an aggressive approach to treatment. After 60 days, you can rotate to Kit B or Kit C if continued treatments are necessary.

For Roach Treatments, sanitation is key to a successful  program, chemicals can only do so much so you need to be aggressive and consistent with treating. Please review our Roach Treatment Guide for more important information for a succesful treatment program.

    Q
Does Advion Cockroach Gel Bait kill pantry confused beetles?
    A

Advion Roach Bait Gel is only designed and labeled only to be used for roaches.

We would recommend Greenway Pantry Patrol Insect Trap for beetles as it covers a broader spectrum of beetle pests including: Red Flour Beetle, Confused Flour Beetle, Indian Meal Moth, Warehouse Beetle, Cigarette Beetle, Mediterranean Flour Moth, Tobacco Moth, Rice Weevil, Saw-Toothed Grain Beetle.

For treating cracks and creviecs where the larvae could be developing, we would recommend an aerosol insecticide such as D-Force HPX.

    Q
Why am I seeing cockroaches with shriveled up wings and enlarged bodies after months of using Advion Cockroach Gel Bait?
I bought this product last year almost it works great and I haven't seen any for a while, but now randomly I've noticed weird ones with deformed wings and enlarged abdomens They just appear in my bathroom or on the stairs. Does that mean it's time to switch bait? Or are they adapting and mutating?
    A
Advion Cockroach Gel Bait should not cause mutations like the kind you described. You will usually see these types of mutations when using an IGR (insect Growth Regulator). Over time roaches do tend to build resistance to gel baits so we recommend rotating to a different bait after 3 months of use.

    Q
Advion Cockroach Gel Bait did not work for my roach infestation and I used your product exactly as described.
I used the product exactly as described and it does not work. Areas were not contaminated where bait was placed, roaches never touched it, it dried up after a day and now seeing more roaches than before. Dozens scatter on countertops when turning my kitchen light on.
    A

When you notice more roaches attracted to the bait that is normal and an indication that the product is working. The attractants lure them to the locations you placed the bait in your structure in order for the product to be accepted and effective. Rotating with other baits aside from Advion would be advised every 90 days for an integrated pest management.

For active roach infestations, using a roach bait alone will not eliminate them. It is recommended to use a combination treatment program with a residual insecticide (along baseboards, behind appliances, under cabinets, sinks, around windows, etc) and an insect growth regulator to help stop the reproduction cycle.

Repeat applications of spraying the insecticide and replacing bait placements are required every 10 to 14 days. If still seeing roaches after 90 days, you will want to continue spraying the insecticide but rotate to another roach bait to offer a different bait matrix.
