    Q
Is it normal for the gel to be runny?
When using this gel a year ago, the substance was thick and solid. However my most recent order contained a bait that was very runny. Does this mean that it will not be as effective?
    A

When Advion Roach Bait Gel is runny, this usually indicates that it was stored in an area where it got too hot.  If you were using it soon after receiving it, it may be that the product sat in a hot delivery truck before it got to you.  While this will not affect the efficacy of the product, if it is difficult to use, it should firm up again if you place it in the refrigerator for a day or so.

    Q
Can/should I use 2 different baits at the same time?
I had a problem with Amazon selling me fake Advion Roach and I thought the roaches were immune to it already so I bought Alpine. When rummaging through the cabinets to put the new baits I found my old lost "legit" tube of Advion Roach lying around. I was wondering if I can combine both baits at the same time?
    A

While you could use both Advion Roach Bait Gel and Alpine at the same time it would be better to instead rotate between them every 3-4 months to prevent resistance build up to any one bait.

    Q
They are multiplying!! It's been a month!
The German roaches we have are multiplying horribly!! Thing is, they eat the advion! And eat it so fast we apply it nightly!! We use plastic bottle caps. Put a generous amount on each cap and set about 40 of them out each night!! Not weekly or every 2 weeks...nightly!! Along with huge strips of poison in places. Everything is clean as can be in the morning. We know where they are nesting and are sure to put many bottle caps around this area along with long strips of poison. Its been a month. I'm NOT seeing many dead or sick ones. But now they are piling up in ugly piles on my ceiling (above the wall their nest is) like building new little nests!!! We've gone through 12 tubes of advian!! Am I just feeding them to multiply??? I wish I could afford to move...it's THAT bad!! Help!!
    A

German Roaches are difficult to get rid of in a couple of months even if they have been there for awhile or not. If they have been consuming the Advion for a month that is great especially with you seeing dead ones. You are feeding them to kill each other through sharing not feeding them to reproduce. They do this on their own. You can incorporate an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol to disrupt the reproductive cycle and an insecticide that will offer a residual control such as Temprid FX. Please alternate your bait every 90 days. The next one that I would suggest you use for the next 90 days (replacing every 2wks) is Maxfore FC Magnum. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for a successful eradication program.

    Q
What is the shelf life for Advion Roach Bait?
What is the shelf life for the above. I applied the bait around the base boards and it seemed to control the problem. Since then I sprayed around the house with Bifin I/T. Now I have some baby roaches showing up. There must be a nest inside the house. What I didn't like about the bait is is very difficult to remove. I would like to apply the bait to clear tape placed near the baseboards.
    A

The shelf life of  Advion Roach Bait Gel is up to 5 years from the date of purchase if unopened and stored at room temperature.  Old Advion Roach Bait Gel can be removed by scraping it up and then warm soap and water on the surfaces for any left over .Advion Roach Bait Gel can be used with the bait plate stations for easy clen up.

    Q
Has Advion Roach Bait Gel changed?
I ordered this product once before and it worked great, however I have offered it again recently and it is runny and it isn't getting eaten. Just wondering if the formula had changed?
    A

No, the formulation of Advion Roach Bait Gel has not changed.  We do recommend rotating baits every few months to avoid bait aversion and bait resistance. We make bait rotation easy for you as we put a different bait in each of our roach control kits. If you are currently using the Advion Roach Bait Gel we do advise using Maxforce FC Magnum that is included in the roach control kit roation A

    Q
Why are there so many roaches if I know that treatment with Advion Roach Bait Gel was done previously?
I was doing my cabinets with this treatment and I noticed there was a lot of try ones it looks like someone had done it before but if that's the case why do I see so many roaches still?
    A

We recommend that you clean out the cabinets and remove old bait placements. Baiting will be used when there is activity inside the structure. If there was previous activity roach bait was used therefore you are seeing dead ones. If you still see roaches, you will bait until you no longer have them. Please take a few moments to review our article for additional information that will help you with a successful program.

    Q
Is Advion Roach Bait Gel good for ants too?
    A

Advion Roach Bait Gel is not labeled to eradicate ants. We do carry Advion Ant Bait Gel that will atrract the listed ants on the label that are currently attracted to a sweet-feeding bait. If they are foraging for a protein source, we highly recommend applying the Advance 375A granules in bait plate stations.

    Q
After using Advion Roach Bait how long before they're gone for good? I never had then before
    A

How long it takes to eliminate a roach infestation depends on how large the infestation is, how consistent and thorough you are being with treatments and what products you are using.  There is not a set time; it can take but it can take weeks or months even to get complete control. Advion Roach Bait gel is typically not used alone but in combination with other products. We would recommend one of our roach control kits. You can see the kits by clicking on the link here. We also have a great article for eliminating them that can offer some great advice; you can find it here.

  • Asked by Cass from Salinas, Ca

    Q
Will Advion Roach Bait Gel attract more roaches to my apartment?
    .
    A

Advion Roach Bait Gel does contain food attractants so we do not suggest using it if you do not have an active roach infestation. However, we highly encourage you to use an IGR (insect growth regulator) such as Gentrol Point Source to prevent roaches from reproducing which will lessen the time it takes to gain complete control. We have a great guide here on How to Treat for Roaches that might be helpful as well.

    Q
Will Advion bait gel work if I've already applied Demon WP?
    A

You should only Advion Roach Bait Gel if you have a roach problem. If you do not have a problem, you should not place roach gel out as it is a food that will attract roaches: you do not want to attract a problem if you don't have one. Please remember you do not want to spray and bait in the same area. As a general rule, you should spray low and bait high. Also, take a look at our guide on How to Get Rid of Roaches.

    Q
Does advion Roach killer kill bed bugs too?
    A

No Advion will not work to eliminate bedbugs. We recommend looking at our Bed Bug Kit Page. We have taken the guess work out of what products you will need to treat with and put them in kits depending on how many rooms you are treating. Each Kit comes with a 5 Step Treatment Guide on how to properly and thoroughly treat for bedbugs. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

  • Asked by Vusala from Arlington, Va

    Q
Is the Advion Roach Bait Gel bad for Budgie birds if they breath it in?
I have two budgie birds, since birds have extremely sensitive respiratory system I wanted to know if the Advion Roach Bait Gel will affect them?
    A

Advion Roach Bait gel should be safe to use around any pet as long as you keep the application out of reach of the pet. Since you are applying a gel and not a spray, there is nothing released into the air where sensitive animals such as birds could run into respiratory issues. That being said, you should always refer to your veterinarian's advice.
