You may find it more beneficial to get a product like Prograss EC instead since Prograss -while expensive- is the only product that can be used as a post-emergent, pre-emergent, and allow seeding close to application in a cool season lawn for poa annua. It has an extensive label for use and is one-of-a-kind to help customers in exactly your situation The only size it comes in is the one listed at the link below, but for many customers who have heavy populations of it in their yard, they find it to be worth the large container and price. Anuew Plant Growth Regulator will not treat poa, crabgrass or broadleaf weeds. Blindside Herbicide WDG will suppress poa and treat 70 broad-leaf weeds and sedges. Blindside Herbicide WDG can be applied to established tall fescue safely if used as directed on the product label. Our most popular choice for post-emergent crabgrass control is Drive XLR8 Herbicide with Duo Stick surfactant.
Anuew Plant Growth Regulator does not include Dallis grass on the product label. We are unaware of any PGR on the market that includes Dallis grass on the list of acceptable turf types, but you may wish to speak to the Master Gardener at your local county extension office for guidance in this matter.
Unfortunately, there are not any selective post-emergent herbicides for use on dallisgrass in residential lawns. We recommend spot treating existing dallisgrass with a non-selective herbicide such as RoundUp QuikPro and then overseeding any bare spots as needed. If you only have a few clumps, then you can often easily pull or dig them out after rainfall. We recommend using a pre-emergent containing dithiopyr in late winter/early spring to help prevent new dallisgrass, such as Dimension 2EW or Crew Specialty HerbicideAs stated on the product label, for perennial ryegrass cultivars such as Manhattan IV, Tall Fescues, Fine Fescues, the rate is 0.18-0.37 oz per 1000 sq ft in 1-2 gallons of water.
. Please be sure to review the product label for more information and complete application instructions.
Per the manufacturer of Anuew Plant Growth Regulator on residential lawns you would use the rate of 8 oz/acre, so 0.18 fl oz per 1000 sqft in 1-2 gallons of water.
