Can Bifin IT turn shrubs black after being sprayed?
I have two crepe myrtle trees and shrubs.They were sprayed on Tuesday and two days later they appear to have a black coating on them. What happened to the tree and shrubs?

We have never had a report of Bifen IT causing any type of damage when it is used as directed on the product label. Did you spray the trees yourself or did a company come and spray them? Was anything else added to the spray solution? Were the trees healthy when they were sprayed?

Bifen will not stain the logs as it is a waterbased insecticide. You should note that Bifen will not give your logs lasting protection against termites as it will not be able to penetrate in to the wood. At best a Bifen treatment will last for about 6 weeks. Bifen will not stain the logs as it is a waterbased insecticide. You should note that Bifen will not give your logs lasting protection against termites as it will not be able to penetrate in to the wood. At best a Bifen treatment will last for about 6 weeks. If you want lasting protection you need to use Bora-Care for your application. Bora-Care will penetrate several inches in to the wood and it will last for the life of the wood.

Q

I have treated raspberries bushes and strawberries with Bifen I/T, are they safe?
From your previous answers I understand that I can't eat them this season. And if I will move them to another safe spot, will it be safe to eat them next season or should I just throw them away? Thank you!

We do not see any reason why you can't spray Bifen IT and Hi-Yield Atrazine together. For more information on application and dilution, please refer to the product labels of each product.

A presence of springtails means there is usually a moisture issue under the house or around the house. Springtail eradication depends on eliminating the moisture source. If the springtails are breeding from under the slab, then the granules around the outside of the house will not effect them and they will be able to get into the house. It is imperative to correct any moisture issues or water that puddles up against the house. You could use Bifen IT inside and on the house outside for some extra killing power in addition to the granules. Typically, pesticides alone will not take care of a springtail problem. It is required to fix whatever moisture issue is causing the problem. You should read our "How To Get Rid of Springtails" article for further information

What is the best and most affordable all around insecticide and pesticide for the widest variety of insects
I'm building a new home and I want to treat everything inside and out. I have birds, so if I have to get something different for the inside, then that's fine. I want something powerful for the outside. I live about a mile from a large lake, and on the west side of Spokane, Washington. I have lots of woods on this country property. I would like to know what's the best, for the pests in this area. I would also like options of natural and man made products, and knowing which ones work the best. Bifen IT is one of our best all around products for indoor outdoor pest control. Bifen IT is considered a general use insecticide and is labeled for outside and inside use. It is odorless, and very safe to use around children or pets. The general rule is that while spraying you keep children or pets in another room or outside to play. After about one hour, it should be dry and it is perfectly safe to allow kids and/or pets back in the room. This product is only strong enough to kill tiny insects, and would have no effect on animals like rabbits, etc.

Can Bifen IT 25.1% get into my well water if I spray the pines trees and the ground every 5 months?

Bifen IT does not move through the soil more than a few inches. You should apply it at least 5 ft away from the well. Please refer to the product label for additional mixing and application instructions for what you are treating for.

It treats for various types of pests and can be used both inside along the baseboards, cracks and crevices and outside as well as a broadcast across the lawn. It is safe for pets when it is dry so remove the dogs from the area while spraying. This product is not labeled for fruit trees. For fruit trees, I would recommend Monterey Fruit Tree Spray Plus. It is broadly labeled product that can be used on edibles.

They are especially prevalent around the bathtub. Also there is an empty lot next door where some trees hav recently been cut down. Piles of wood chips and sawdust.

Please view our article "How to get Rid of Springtails". This article contains everything you need to know to treat for springtails. You would want to use a dust in wall voids and a residual spray like Bifen IT around the perimeter and indoors cracks and crevices.

What if deer were to eat treated grass or trees?

We do not recommend applying Bifen IT close to a creek due to the possiblity of runoff. We do carry an insecticide called EcoVia EC that can be applied close to water without harm to aquatic organisms.

When treating spruce spider mites, how often should Bifen IT be rotated with other miticides?
Trying to determine if Bifen IT can be effective with repeat applications or whether I should use another miticide if I need retreat my arborvitae in 30 days.

I have these insects on my pomegranates? I order this product from you guys and just love it.

Bifen IT cannot be used in edible vegetation. Leaf footed insects are better controlled during nymph stages, using a product like Pyganic 1.4 EC. Be sure to remove any debris piles from the orchard.

Bifen I/T is labeled to kill weevils of several different forms and has shown to be successful through the studies of many universities on rhododendren. You would need to spray the entire plant down to try and not only kill the weevils but also to hopefully repel them from coming in the first place. Good plant health is a key factor in eliminating and preventing weevils of all kinds. Bifen should work to kill some currently and the most in the spring. Just use heavy water volumes to push it through the soil and retreat as necessary for new activity. If for any reason you dont see the full control with the bifenthrin you can always try something like Acephate 97 as a systemic and use the Talstar as a foliar spray and as a general insecticide spray around your home to help keep down any other unwanted pests.
