Can I use Bifen I/T on bag worms?

A

Yes, Bifen IT is labeled for bagworms and will kill them if applied before the bags have formed. After the bags have formed, there is little you can do to control them other than to physically remove them. Please read the product label for complete application instructions.

Will this kill the frogs and lizards? We love them.

A

Bifen has not proven harmful to lizards or frogs. Other than eliminating the food source of the toads and lizards, Bifen IT when mixed correctly is only strong enough to kill small insects and will have no effect on lizards or anything of that size or larger.

If Bifen is overmixed is it still safe for pets once it is dry?

A

Once Bifen IT is dry regardless of mixture it is safe for pets. However it will not work as effectively for the pests you are targeting if you did not use the mixture rates according to the labels instructions.

Will Bifen I/T kill hammerhead worms?
I would like to get rid of hammerhead worms and prevent them. Does Bifen it kill them?

A

Bifen IT and currently no other product on the market labeled for hammerhead worms, unfortunately. Most folks throw them in a bucket of soapy water when they encounter them. We apologize we could not be more helpful today.

The key to sod webworm control is focusing on the larvae, therefore while Bifen IT is a great product the best time for applications is to control the young larvae, if possible.
The larvae feed mostly at night. Therefore, controlling sod webworms with chemicals successfully means spraying in the late afternoon to ensure ingestion of the poison.
For the moth stage, spraying Bifen IT on the lawn, plants, trees, bushes, shrubs, etc, and focusing on the underside of the leaves will help with the moth control. What is the proper mask or respirator that should be worn when applying with a backpack blower outdoors ?

Our KN95 masks would be fine for this application. Of course, anytime you are applying product vertically, be sure to wear adequate eye protection as well.

Does Bifen on plants taste bad to deer or rabbits
As a side benefit to spraying Bifen for yard pests such as ticks, etc. Does Bifen which has been sprayed on plants make them distasteful to deer and/or rabbits?

A

We are not aware of a bad taste left behind after an application of Bifen IT, however, although minute amounts of the residual are not harmful, we do not recommend applying this product in areas where animals tend to forage. Instead, you could use a more natural product such as EcoVia EC.

Will Bifen I/T help reduce the amount of gnats flying around the yard? Or, is there another product you can recommend? I live in the south and there is a huge gnat issue during the summer.

Bifen IT would be a good choice for grasshopper control. You should start applications before the grasshoppers have a chance to hatch for best control. If you already have grasshoppers you can use Bifen at the highest usage rate of 1 oz of product per 1 gallon of water for the quickest knockdown. Use sufficient amounts of water to help the product get to the soil layers. Once the Bifen has dried it will be completely safe for pets and children to resume their normal activity in the areas that have been treated. The Bifen is safe to be used on anything non-edible in the yard and will not harm trees, bushes, or flowers.
