If Blindside Herbicide WDG were sprayed in a way where there could be overspray or runoff to desirable ornamental plants nearby, then those plants could potentially be injured. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to tell you for certain what may be ailing your tree. We recommend reaching out to an arborist in your area if you need help assessing your trees.
Yes, Blindside Herbicide WDG is labeled for control of ground ivy. Please refer to page 3 of the product label for application rates based on your type of turfgrass.
Blindside Herbicide WDG is labeled for use on St. Augustine grass, and the label does not exclude any specific cultivars and bermudagrass. If there is discoloration after applying Blindside, established turf will generally recover well. As with all herbicides, you should not apply to turf that is under stress from extreme heat, drought, disease, or other similar situations. It is recommended to apply Blindside at temperatures less than 85 degrees.
Please view the product label for application rates and more information.
In terms of dry ounces, there are approximately 0.18 dry ounces in 1 teaspoon however this can be difficult to properly measure.
Application rates are the following:
Cool Season grasses: 0.075 - 0.15 per 1,000 sq. ft. (3.25 - 6.5 oz. per acre) Warm Season Grasses: 0.15 - 0.23 per 1,000 sq. ft. (6.5 - 10 oz. per acre).
Blindside Herbicide WDG should only be applied to established listed turf that has been mowed a few times. Fall pre-emergents applied help with the poa annua seen in the spring but should not be applied when your overseeding.
We would not recommend applying Blindside Herbicide WDG during winter months as the temperatures are not warm enough for the herbicide to be effective or absorbed.
Blindside WDG being a post emergent should be applied when temperatures are between 65 to 85 degrees. If you really would like to treat now, you can use Roundup products to spot treat the actively growing weeds on your dormant grass.
Blindside Herbicide WDG is not labeled for dallisgrass.
We would recommend Certainty Herbicide, as it is labeled to suppress dallisgrass and is safe to use on St. Augustine grass.
There really are not options for treating cool season grass types in other cool season types like Fescue blends. Alternative options would be to either spot-treat with a non selective product and then reseed with the fescue in those areas, or you can use a preemergent such as Pendulum in the fall to prevent the poa from growing in the first place (though you cannot reseed with a pre application in the fall)
Blindside Herbicide WDG is only labeled for suppression of poa annua (annual bluegrass) however it will not fully control it. For tall fescue, apply at the rate of 0.075 - 0.15 oz per 1000 sq ft. A non ionic surfactant would be recommended to use in the tank mix for best results.
Since poa annua and cool season grasses are so closely related, there are few products that will kill the poa annua without also harming the lawn. The only one we are currently aware of is called Prograss which can kill & prevent poa and can be applied at seeding, however it can only be applied to residential lawns by licensed applicators. You may want to see if a service local to you can provide this chemical treatment to your lawn.
Your only other option would be to spot-treat with a Roundup-type product and then reseed with the desirable grass type in those areas. Pre emergent applications in late fall and early spring can help prevent poa annua from germinating but if overseeding, you would need to wait until after the 2nd mowing of the newly established turf to apply a pre emergent.
Dimension 2EW or Pendulum 2G applications will help prevent weeds from germinating and typically a split treatment in the fall will yield to longer and better prevention of the weeds.
Please view our Poa Annua Treatment Guide for more information.
Depending the type of turfgrass you have, you could covert the rate of Blindside WDG measure from ounces to grams.
Cool-Season grass: 0.075 - 0.15 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft would be equal to 1.9 grams to 4.2 grams per 1000 sq ft.
Warm-Season grass: 0.15 - 0.23 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. would be equal to 4.2 grams to 6.5 grams per 1000 sq ft.

Any mixed solution of Blindside Herbicide WDG in a hand pump sprayer needs to be used within 24 hours for best results.
Blindside Herbicide WDG is labeled for lawn burweed and labeled for suppression only for annual bluegrass (poa annua). A non ionic surfactant is recommended for best results.
We would recommend using the higher rate of .23 oz of Blindside Herbicide WDG to treat poa annua in zoysia. It is only labeled to suppress poa annua so will take multiple applications to completely control.
Blindside Herbicide WDG does not list cupgrass on its label. Depending on the area you are treating Fusilade II Turf and Ornamental herbicide is an option to treat for cupgrass species listed on the label.
