The Chapin 4 Gallon 20v Wide Mouth Backpack Sprayer 63985 features a 20-volt Black & Decker Lithium Ion battery with a battery charger. It produces 1.75 hours of continuous spraying, that’s up to 50 gallons! It produces 35 to 40 PSI with a 35-foot maximum horizontal spray stream. It also has a 6-inch wide mouth funnel for easy filling and cleaning with a carrying handle built right into the cap. This sprayer weighs 39% less than competitive units. Santoprene seals in the pump offer maximum chemical resistance. Cushion grip shut-off with built-in, serviceable filter to assure that no debris can clog the nozzle tip. Deluxe padded straps offer comfort for prolonged use. Durable and long-lasting with regular cleaning. Additional batteries and chargers are available through Black & Decker.
This sprayer is the same sprayer as Chapin Backpack Sprayer 4 Gal. 20V Lithium Black & Decker Battery (63980) except for the lid color and writing on the front.

Very happy with performance after using sprayer on 2 different occasions. Maybe I'm lazy but I like the fact that spray has same power output because of battery versus pump that slows down as pressure fades. Also backpack capacity over my 1 gal sprayer better for almost half acre property

I bought this on a recommendation from The Lawn Care Nut. I love this sprayer. I use it for blanket apps of liquid fertilizer, herbicide and pesticide on the lawn as well as treating the perimeter of the house with pesticide. I have had it for almost 3 years and it is still running great.

We are sorry that you are having trouble with your Chapin 4 Gallon 20v Wide Mouth Backpack Sprayer! You should hear the battery running while the unit is turned on, but you should be able to control the spray using the handle to stop and start the flow of liquid from the handle. The Chapin 4 Gallon 20v Wide Mouth Backpack Sprayer 63985 should use the lithium battery suggested by Chapin. The 20V replacement battery is to be used in the Chapin Backpack Sprayer 4 Gal. 20V Lithium Black & Decker Battery (63980) also.

In the summer sun the plastic wand curls into a "C" shape.
The only replacement wand for the Chapin 4 Gallon Backpack Sprayer 63985 is the plastic wand, part 6-8219. Be sure you are storing your sprayer empty, clean, and out of direct sunlight and extreme heat to prevent damage. We have other backpack sprayers like the Chapin 62000 that do have metal wands, if needed.

The Black and Decker charger that comes with the Chapin 4 Gallon 20v Wide Mouth Backpack Sprayer 63985 is a 110V charger. It is not available in 220V.
