    Q
Is it safe to place this product inside floor vents? (I saw a mouse go through my floor vent)
I killed a mouse and two weeks later I saw another one. The area where I stay was once a wooded area and they built townhouse. Please help because I hear noises in the floor vents!!!!
    A

You cannot place the Contrac inside the vents. You can place the Contrac inside tamper resistant bait stations near the vents and in places where you have noticed activity. The mice and or rats must come out of the vents to get food so they will eventually find the bait. The alternative would be to …

    Q
Will squirrels eat Contrac Blox Rodenticide?
    A

Contrac Blox Rodenticide should be applied in tamper resistant stations to avoid non-target animals and children from accessing the bait inside. It is possible that a squirrel could be attracted to the bait for consumption. Although, Contrac is labeled for rats and mice, it could harm a squirrel …

    Q
If the Contrac All-Weather Blox Rodenticide attracts rats from the neighborhood, does that mean I need to change the bait later?
I don't want to host the rat colony on great tasting food. I will never get rid of them. Please help and explain how to handle this
    A

Contrac Rodenticide doesn't so much attract rodents from all over as it will target rodents that are already coming onto the property other food sources, nesting supplies or water. Bait stations with rodenticides should be placed on the exterior of the home or within 50ft of the house where the…

    Q
Does the Contrac Blox Rodenticide stop reproduction of mice?
    A

The Contrac Blox does not stop the reproduction of rodents.  Contrac Blox is an anti-coagulant which means once the mice eat this product they begin to bleed to death from the inside.  The mice first become sick, and then grow tired and weak and pass in their sleep.  It can take an…

    Q
Is there any secondary poisoning of chickens for Contrac Blox if they consume the rodents feces?
I raise chickens and I am concerned about the rat turds left behind that can be consumed by chickens? Are the turds harmful to chickens? Its not their favorite food, but I do think they eat them sometimes. On a side note, I have the UV Contrac and, although not the primary intention, you can use a UV light to tell if you got it off your hands completely. I had to wash my hands 3 times before it was completely gone.
    A

The chances of secondary poisoning by chickens consuming the feces left behind by rodents that consumed Contrac Blox is extremely slim. Normally animals have to consume multiple entire rodents in order to ingest enough poison to have any effects. Unless the chickens are getting direct access to the …

    Q
Will Contrac Blox be effective on gophers?
    A

Unfortunately, because Contrac Blox are not labeled for gophers we cannot recommend that you use this product for this pest. The only baits that we have for gophers of any kind are ZP Rodent Bait and Hi Yield Mole and Gopher bait. They are actually lableled only for 'pocket gohpers'.

    Q
Once Contrac All-Weather Blox Rodenticide is put out, how long is it good for if untouched?
    A

Contrac bait should be stored at room temperature and replaced every 40-60 days in the bait stations because it contains food based ingredients. The bait could mold or sour in the hot or cold months (should be replaced every 30 days during the summer and winter) and may be less palatable to the rod…

    Q
How long does the uneaten Contrac Blox last outdoors?
    A

When please in Contrac Blox a tamper resistant bait station, it will be kept out of direct sunlight and out of the rain. Lots of rain or extreme heat will cause the bait to deteriorate faster than cool dry weather. Basically, bait that is placed into a station should be inspected every week or…

    Q
    Insects eating Contrac Blox Rodenticide
I have Contrac Blox Rodenticide inside Protecta Evo Ambush bait stations, and it appears that insects are eating the bait. I put these out last year, and I didn't notice any signs of insects eating the bait at that time (I change the bait every 4 months). Recently, all of the bait was gone, and I replaced it and rechecked the next week to find them covered in insects. Any ideas/suggestions?
    A

Insects are trying to fatten up for the winter. It is not uncommon for insects to be more attracted to rodent bait like Contrac. We recommend to sprinkle Niban Bait around the outside perimeter of the bait station to keep the insects out.

If I get Contrac Blox, can u tell me if the mice or rats will die in walls or will they go outside to die?
I live in an apartment and would like to know what I'm facing here. Place is infested!
    A

Rodents that eat the ContracBlox will not neccessarily go outside to die. There is a high possibility they will die indoors and then you will be dealing with a very foul odor for atleast a few weeks. We would recommend trapping rodents indoors using snap traps or glueboards. Trapping eliminates…

    Q
    Is Contrac toxic to opossums?
I have a Bucket of Contrac that has been very effective with the rats. Recently, a possum has been breaking into the bait stations and stealing the bait. Will this harm the possum? This is a big problem for me because I have to clean up his crumbs so that other animals (chickens) don't get into them.
    A

Contrac Blox Rodenticide is not labeled for possums but if they were to eat enough of it it could harm them.  It doesn't sound like your stations are secure at all to the ground or to some other structure.  You can use liquid nails and affix the station on a 1 x 1 foot paver you can buy from …

How come the mice are not eating the Contrac Blox?
I'm in pest control and have went back to this job numerous times they have no food laying around and there is no feeding on the contrac blox I'm stumped they won't even go for snap traps...
    A

There are many reasons why rodents may not be attracted to a bait such as Contrac Blox. One very common reason is that the bait is not fresh; baits should be used within 1 year of opening, and stations should be changed every 30 days for the best acceptance. You should also be sure to wear gloves wh…

    A

To our knowledge Contrac Blox are not labeled for Voles. Kaput Combo Mini Blox is labeled to be used for voles and would be a better option when used in bait stations. Voles: Place 1 block in each bait station. Situate bait stations near runways, burrow opening or plants that voles have been damag…

Yes, the mice and rodents in the area will be attracted to the Contrac Blox as they are made of a variety of very attractive food based ingredients for the rodents to want to feed on. Any rodents looking for a food source would want to go to the bait in the stations. Please let us know if you have a…
