The box elder bugs just hang out all over the front of our house on siding!!

Like with all chemicals, we strongly recommend to do a test area first. Demand CS is listed to dry clear and is virtually odorless.

    Q
What is the best product to use when trying to get rid of all bugs/insects?
I'm trying to get rid of roaches, spiders, small little grey bugs that keep coming out of no where. I've used some products from our near Lowes store and nothing seems to work, let alone last as long as they claim it's suppose to.
    A
Demand CS is definitely one of our most popular and will work great on spiders and roaches.  In addition, Demand CS is labeled for almost any other insect you could have an issue with and can be used safely indoors as well as outdoors.  It also has a long residual which lasts up to 90 days.  It would be a great choice.

The best all around spray for general use
What ever the gentleman that took care of our place before we relocated used was excellent. It was safe for pets and it had no odor. Is seemed to last foreever we would find dead insects on the floor up to a year later. He sprayed the same thing inside and outside the house and garage and we had no issues. I would love to find something like that. I have been reading but now I am confused.
    A
Demand CS would be a great choice for general pest control. It will hold up well to UV rays and rain and because it is a micro-encapsulated it works a little bit like a time released formula.  Of course it will only kills those pests that contacted a treated surface so flying insects will always be a little bit harder to kill versus the crawling ones but Demand will take care of just about anything!

    Q
    Spraying techniques
I have a one gallon sprayer for applying DemandCS. I have an unfinished basement that has some drywall in spots. There are a fair amount of spiders so I am trying to take care of that. When I spray along the top edge of the basement, after a few minutes I return and the application has dripped down the wall somewhat. Also around the windows you can see it dripping. I have the most fine nozzle I can put on the sprayer. Any techniques for this?
    A
The dripping of the Demand CS even after spraying on the fine mist setting can be a direct result of the actual sprayer or because you are spraying with your nozzle too close to the  application area. Try standing and positioning the tip of your wand further back to test for drip and if it still happens maybe try purchasing another sprayer that is more of a professional brand such as out B&G Sprayers.

    Q
Biting gnat/noseeums infestation in every room of a large 4 floors house. What's the best plan of action?
No idea where they are coming from. Plants and drains seem to be free of them. Tried vacuuming every other day for weeks now. Fogging didn't work, maybe got more of them via open windows? Impossible to be still anywhere. Want products as a space spray for most active areas, and for rugs, and for general cleaning. Need to be careful around kids/dogs "licking" surfaces. Can be multiple products.
    A

Biting midges do generally not enter structures, but midges are small enough to get through 16 mesh screens. Getting mesh screens with a higher number can keep these and other very tiny insects out of your home. Our experts recommend using a pyrethrin spray such as 565 Plus or Microcare to get rid of the adult midges in or around your home.

Non-biting midges are attracted to lights, so it is recommended to draw your shades at night and wait as long as possible to turn on exterior lights to keep them away from your home. Using the FlyWeb Fly Light inside the home works great on flying insects inside the home.

A great prodcut to use indoors and outdoors on your home that is safe for pets and kids once it has dried it called Onslaught. Onslaught can be used as a broadcast over carpeted areas inside the home mixing at 1oz per gallon of water. Spraying a product such as Onslaught on window screens, doors, bushes, and plants around your home can act as midge repellant to keep midges away.

    Q
    Demand safety
What are the ingredients in your product? How safe is it? I just had this product sprayed in my home and the company said it is safe. However, I want to know what is the recommended time frame between spraying and they also told me it is safe. After looking at he answered questions it says its safe when it is dried and to keep away for 2 hours. I am in my home when they sprayed and i was told it was safe.
    A
Demand CS is safe once it is dry. The active ingredient in Demand CS is lambda-cyhalothrin. The timeframe to re-enter your home is between 1-2 hours. If the product has already dried around your home, it is safe to enter and/or be in the rooms that were sprayed. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Q
Does Demand CS kill bird mites?
    A
Demand CS is not labeled for mites.

Here is our best advice on mite control:

It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with mites. Have the suspected mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. Treatment for say bedbugs is much different than the treatment for mites.  If you do indeed have mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a bird nest or a dead rodent on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use Cimexa Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs. We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

How to get do I rid of caterpillars invading my house.
I've already sprayed a chemical from Home Depot around my house a couple of months ago and now they are back.
    A
You can use a product like Demand CS around the perimeter of the home and inside as well.   We have a great video here for General Spray Application to show you where to spray.  Demand CS should be applied once a month outside and once every 90 days inside.  It will not provide an instant knockdown but will instead continue to kill after it has dried.

    Q
Is Demand CS better than Suspend Polyzone fo stink bugs
I've great success with Demand CS over the past several years, using it on the outside of my house to kill stink bugs. Suspend Polyzone seems to be a newer alternative. Is it better than Demand CS. Suspend advertises it as lasting longer?
    A
Demand CS is still a great product on stink bugs and other pest. If it is working we recommend to stick with it. Suspend Polyzone has a Polymer protecting the active ingredient which would give  you a longer lasting residual.

    Q
Will Demand CS kill carpenter ants?
I'm seeing carpenter ants around my property (just like 2-3 a day). First is Demand CS strong enough to kill them? How will it kill them? And will it eventually wipe out the colony/nest/queen? If so, how long will it take? Thanks
    A
Demand CS would be a great choice for general pest control. It will hold up well to UV rays and rain and because it is a micro-encapsulated it works a little bit like a time released formula.  Of course it will only kills those pests that contacted a treated surface. We would recommend our most popular carpenter ant control product which is our Carpenter Ant Kit #2.  The Carpenter Ant Kit #2 with Dominion 2L provides the best carpenter ant control available. For serious carpenter ant problems, nothing does the job better adding a product such as Dominion 2L to your arsenal. Dominion is a sprayable liquid bait that makes up to 48 gallons of solution (enough to provide several years of outdoor protection) and can be sprayed around the outside of your home to provide a long-lasting barrier against carpenter ants and other ant species. Ants pick up the Dominion 2L on their bodies and spread it to other ants, eventually eliminating the entire colony. This kit also includes Advance carpenter ant bait for outdoor control/indoor control and Maxforce carpenter ant bait gel for indoor control. The Advance Carpenter Ant Bait is great for sprinkling in a 2 foot barrier around the outside of your home to provide a food source that outside ants are looking for.  It can also be applied around wood piles, trees, stumps, or other areas of harborage.  Advance Carpenter ant bait can also be used indoors in bait plate stations.  The Maxforce Carpenter ant bait is for indoor control only and should be placed where you see ant activity inside.  The ants will eat the bait and take it back to the nest spreading it around to the other colony members. You will need a pressurized garden pump sprayer to apply the Dominion 2L.

Demand CS for evergreen bagworms? Buffering question
I have a horrible evergreen bagworm infestation on my arborvitae. We have been happy with Demand CS for perimeter control of other bugs around our home. a) will it work on the evergreen bagworms b) what ratio do I need to use when mixing c) should we be using a buffering agent in this case (or any case for that matter)? Thanks!
    A
Yes, Demand CS will work well on the evergreens to kill bagworms. Apply Demand CS Insecticide when bagworm larvae begin to hatch. Spray directly on the larvae. Application is the most effective when the larvae are young. You would use 1.5–5 fl. oz. of the Demand CS per 100 gallons of water.

    Q
What is the best treatment plan for a concrete building with ants and spiders?
6600 square feet office building, concrete walls, concrete slab floor, ants seem to be coming through the junction of the wall and floor. Occationally, centipedes are found inside. We fog each month, and have some ant baits, but I would like to get rid of these for good. Orkin suggested liquid bait.
    A
Demand CS would be a great option for both indoor and outdoor treatments for spiders, ants centipedes, and a multitude of other insects. You can refer to the product label for dilution and treatment instructions. The Demand CS will ususally last up to 90 days indoors and at least 30 days indoors.  It will onlyl kill the insects that contact where it has been applied so when dealing with ants you would want to continue to use baits such as those found in our Complete Ant Kit.

    Q
How do you get rid of Chinese Cockroaches?
We lived in the suburbs of North. Los Angeles. They are in our yard, streets, sidewalks, lawn, they are large and horrible. My husband has sprayed with bug killer in the surrounding areas of the house. The perimeter of the outside concrete walls at night in the morning he finds them dead. Then more come, so he is now using diozon to kill them, but they keep coming. We are not the only ones that have this problem. They are coming out the main sewer system. Is this a City problem? Your answer on this would be very much appreciated. Thank you
    A
I would recommend spraying Demand CS. It is an amazing general insecticide that can be broadcasted across your lawn. This product can also be used inside as well along the baseboards of your home and in cracks and crevices. Roaches do need water to survive so it's possible they live underground. I would call the Cooperative Extension in your area to find out for sure.

What is best to use for black widow spiders?
    A
Demand CS will treat black widows and do a great job for other insects as well. The mixing ratio would be 24mL per gallon of water. After spraying, Demand CS leaves thousands of micro particles that bind to the surface offering long-term protection and fast insect knock-down.

    Q
Demand CS and Chapin Hose-End Sprayer... what ratio?
I would like to use the Demand CS for Mosquito Control with the hose-end sprayer but am not sure of the ratio?.. How to set the dial?
    A

First, you need to determine how many gallons of water you will be using. To find out how many gallons of water you need to use you will calculate the square footage of the area to be treated(Dmeand CS recommend 1 gallon of mixed solution 1,000 sq feet). For instance, if you have a 6,000 square foot yard that you plan on treating then you would need to multiply 6 x 0.8 which equals 4.8 – You would then add 4.8 oz of Demand CS to the reservoir. Once you add the desired amount of Demand CS to the reservoir, then you would add water to the line selected (6 gallon line mark on the reservoir). You would then set the dial on the top of the Chapin Hose End Sprayer to 6 gallons. Do not turn water on when adjusting the spray nozzle. Next, select the desired spray pattern and then spray until the reservoir is empty.
