    Q
Does this work to kill ants in lawns?
    A
Demon Max will only kill the ants coming in contact with the treated area. It will not stop the colony or keep them from coming to the lawn. Please take a few moments to review our article on How to Get Rid of Ants for a successful program. ?

    Q
I just bought 1 pint of Demon Max from your store. Is it safe to use on Luxury Vinyl Plank and Carpet?
    A

Demon Max is not for use as a broadcast across carpet or interior surfaces at all.  Inside use is limited to along baseboards and in cracks and crevices only around rooms.  Due to Demon Max being an oil based product it has the potential to stain almost any surface depending on how porous it is and how heavy it is applied but is safe when used as directed on the label. If you wish to use Demon Max we would highly suggest doing a small spot test first to make sure it wont stain or leave an undesirable residue on any surface you plan to treat.

    Q
Does DemonMax have to be sprayed directly on the insect to kill it?
    A
While Demon Max can have some knock down properties, it is not considered a contact kill product. It is a residual insecticide that once dry will last on the surface 3-6 months indoors (although you would respray more frequently for an active infestation) and 30-60 days outdoors depending on how the elements effect it over time.

    Q
How effective is Demon Max for mosquito and fly control in Northern Minnesota?
    A

Demon Max is labeled for flies and mosquitoes at the mix rate of 0.5 (1 tbsp) per gallon of water. It is suggested to use 2-10 gallons per 1,000 sq ft. Per the product label, applications to the exterior periemter of the home should be applied to a band of soil and vegetation 6-10 ft wide around and adjacent to the structure. Also, treat the foundation of the structure to a height of 2-3 ft.

To reduce mosquiote and fly population, try to limit moisture areas or standing water on the property as much as possible, spray not just the top but also the underneath side of leave of bushes, trees and other dense foliage on the property where mosquitoes harbor and breed, and consider mixing in an IGR like Nyguard IGR to help stop the reproductive cycle.

Please view our How to Get Rid of Mosquito Treatment Guide for more information.

    Q
Does Demon Max repel pests as well as kill them?
I want to keep the wasps and yellow jackets away.
    A

In general, there really isn't such a thing as a spray that will repel wasps, or most insects, other than the ones designed specifically for mosquitoes and gnats. Demon Max does have a slightly higher repellency to its formulation due to it being oil based, but most insecticides work by being sprayed on surfaces the insects land on frequently so they can pick it up on their bodies and die from it.

    Q
Does Demon Max leave a white or any color residue on the base board and ground indoor?
I used the powder version, but the white residue looks awkward on the baseboards and wood floors.
    A

Demon WP is a wettable powder that is dissolved in water and sprayed to interior cracks and crevices. It goes on wet and dries as a powder. It could be noticed more clearly on dark stained/painted baseboards and other listed areas on the label. We do offer other alternatives such as liquid concentrates that do not show visibly to those dark surfaces. Demon Max is diluted with water and applied to interior spot and crack and crevices only as directed for the listed pests on the label

    Q
Similar product to Demon Max more suitable for indoor, no odor or color?
Im looking to do some indoor treatment for roaches, silverfish, spiders. I got demon max sprayed outside on the perimeter of the house but I would like to know an alternative that doesn't have any odor/or color. In the instructions it mentions that different treatments should be used in order to prevent developing pest resistance. What alternative can I use in this case? Thanks!
    A

Temprid FX Insecticide is a multi-purpose suspension concentrate insecticide that can be used both indoors and outside. The FX stands for 'flexibility' because Temprid FX can be used on a large variety of insects in many settings. Combining the fast-acting power of beta-cyfluthrin and the transferal power of imidacloprid, Temprid FX can be used to combat ants, bed bugs, cockroaches, flies, spiders, and more. Target treat your home in places where pests have been spotted or give the outside of your home a perimeter spray (3 feet up and 3 feet out around the foundation of the home) to prevent future infestations.

    Q
Can you tank mix Demon Max with an herbicide? Specifically Celcius WG?
Looking to blanket spray backyard with Demon Max, Nyguard, and Celsius WG (inc. Non-ionic surfactant)
    A

As long as there are no specific instructions on any label to not mix a herbicide with an insecticide or vice versa, you can. Also, as long as you're applying the right amount of Celsius Herbicide per 1,000 sq. ft., you can mix it with Demon Max and Nyguard IGR. If you do end up mixing them, we recommend to follow the most restrictive label.

    Q
Why isn't Demon Max working? I followed the exact instructions. I even sprayed it a lot in the kitchen
and NOTHING, roaches went away for a week then came back I am so disappointed.
    A

Demon Max only kills those roaches that contact a treated area and should not be used alone for an effective roach treatment for this reason.  Not all roaches come out of hiding to contact where you have sprayed.  You should only spray along baseboards and in cracks and crevices when using inside.

One of our roach control kits would be recommended for roach control. These professional kits includes non-staining, low odor concentrated insecticide for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get Roach Bait Gel to help get rid of those roaches that like to hide. Baits can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, an Insect Growth Regulator is offered which will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals. The insecticide must be applied with a 1 gallon pump sprayer.

    Q
Can I use Demon Max on brick and vinyl siding?
I read that it stains vinyl and that it soaks up into brick.
    A

Demon Max has the ability to do both the things you mentioned, both stain siding due to its oil base, and soak into brick leaving an oily finish and not providing as much chemical on the surface for an insect to absorb. It would be better to use a product like the Demon WP which would sit on the surface better, not stain, and last longer.

    Q
Will Demon Max or Demon WP harm the roots of my palm trees if I saturate the soil around the tree?
My palm trees have been infested with termites and I want to spray the tree, but I also read the soil should be saturated around the tree. Is it safe to use Demon Max or Demon WP to saturate the soil around the tree after spraying the tree?
    A

You cannot use Demon Max or Demon WP to drench for termites around palms, trees, or other plants. This product should not harm ornamental plants, but this is an off-label use and we could not tell you it would be effective. Demon Max can be used to spot treat directly into termite galleries in trees. You would have better success with a non-repellent termiticide, though, such as Termidor Foam, since this product has an active ingredient that will transfer throughout the termite colony.

    Q
Will Demon Max work with roaches, and can I mix it with other products?
    A

Demon Max is labeled for roaches, and you may mix this product with an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol for better control. You do not need to mix Demon Max with another insecticide. When applying these products indoors, we recommend also using a professional roach bait gel in areas where you cannot spray. You may want to look over our Roach Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing roaches.

Which is best, Talstar P or Demon Max?
    A

Demon Max offers the same residual as Talstar P, but a quicker knock down. However, either product would be effective if used as a general insecticide.

  • Asked by Erik from Brooklyn, Ny
    12/17/2019
    Q
How long do I need to be out of the premises after spraying with Demon Max?
I read the instructions wrong and have mixed 5.1 fl oz to 1gallon water, and used it to spray around full apartment in every crevice, nook, cranny, pipe, board, outlet, etc. you can think of. How long now should I wait until it dissipates out of the apartment? I used it for roaches and bedbugs on recommendation from superintendent the Demon Max 25%. I used 80% of that 1 gallon solution on about a 900 sq ft apartment.
    A

The maximum rate for general insects using Demon Max is 1 oz per gallon of water, per the product label, depending on the target pest.  It is only used at 5.1 fl oz per gallon for a 1% emulsion for maximum control and protection against subterranean termite infestation. Using too much may cause pests to avoid the area rather than coming into contact with the application. We encourage you to wipe off any spray you’ve done, and re-apply at 1 oz per gallon for better results. You may re-apply every 30-90 days.
