Demon WP Insecticide is only going to kill the insects (roaches) that come into contact with the treated areas, it does not transfer throughout the colony which would be why you are only seeing a few dead insects.
For treating an active roach infestation, you need to use a combination of products and repeat treatments every 14 days. One week or 1 -2 treatments is not enougth to eliminate an active roach colony as majority of the colony is hiding in accessible areas.
We recommend one of our Roach Control Kits that provide you with professional grade products for the initial treatment and 2-3 follow up treatments. Each kit contains the residual insecticide Temprid FX, Gentrol Pointe Source IGR Packs and a roach bait gel.
Roach Kit A contains FC Magnum Roach Bait which contains 5 times the amount of Fipronil active ingredient providing superior transfer effect throughout a roach colony. This roach bait is commonly used when first starting a roach treatment program. If still baiting after 60-90 days, you can rotate to Kit B or Kit C to offer a different bait/food attractant.

Demon WP is labeled to spray on non-edible plants and lawns and should not cause any damage to them. That being said we still recommend that you test a one plant or a small area before broadcasting the spray as some plants can be sensitive.
Please view the product label for application rates and more information.
Demon WP Insecticide should not be applied to citrus/fruit trees, vegetables, herbs/spices or anything edible/consumable. We do offer products for Edibles here.
No, Demon WP Insecticide cannot be mixed with bleach water. This insecticide should only be mixed with plain water per the product label.
No, Demon WP would not penetrate into the wood to reach the powder post beetles.
BoraCare would be recommended to treat raw wood (no paint, stain/finish of any kind) for wood destroying insects such as powderpost beeltes and termites. Spray all sides of the wood, and if the wood is thicker than 5x5 inches thick, you would need to do 2 coats to make sure the product penetrates to the center of the wood, Boracare lasts for the life of the wood (indoors/protected from the elements) and will kill the beetles as they eat their way out of the wood and emerge, as well as protect it from new infestations down the road. View the BoraCare product label for more information.
You should still expect to see some activity of the beetles even after treating, as they only are killed through ingesting the treated wood, and you cannot stop/control when the life cycles try to emerge.
For smaller applications areas or if treating wood that is painted, stained or sealed, Jecta would be an alternative option. Drill holes iinto the wood where powderpost beetles have been observed and insert Jecta into the holes for direct colony treatment. This product will also absorb into the wood and then last the life of the wood. Same process as with BoraCare, as the insects consume the wood from the inside they will die from eating the treated wood. View the Jecta product label for more information.
Demon WP Insecticide should only be applied along baseboards and in cracks and crevices when used inside. When applied around hard floors be sure to avoid the edges where you apply when mopping or you will remove the product. If you applied across an entire floor you should mop to remove as soon as possible.
Demon WP Insecticide is safe for children and pets after it has dried.
Demon WP Insecticide should not be applied in or around drains in any way which would interfere with plumbing. Please refer to the manufacturer's product label for complete application instructions, and use only as directed.
Demon WP Insecticide can be applied around water pipes located under sinks, in cabinets, bathrooms, kitchens, etc when mixed according to the product label. This cannot be applied directly in sinks, tubs, or drainsl.
If treating outdoors, you will want to use caution so that the treatment solution is not introduced into the gravel and/or pipe drainage system which may be located on the exterior of the foundation in close proximity to the footing of the structure.
Demon WP is not specifically labeled to treat tussock moth caterpillars.
We found an article by the University of California Ag Extension Office explaining how to treat and prevent these pests.
The article states, “Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is known to control tussock moth larvae, especially if applied when most larvae are young. Bacillus thuringiensis kills only caterpillars (butterfly and moth larvae) that feed on sprayed foliage. A second application of Bt about 7 to 10 days after the first is recommended because of its short persistence.”
We would not recommend spraying Demon WP while the birds are in the room. Remove all animals from the home/rooms while treating and until the application has dried. This could take anywhere between 2-3 hours.
Yes, Demon WP Insecticide is labeled for wasps. It will be effective for the control and eradication of wasps, as long as the wasps come in contact with the product. Application rate is mixing 1 to 2 packets per gallon of water.
Please view the product label for more information.
