Demon WP Insecticide - Questions & Answers

Demon WP used to come in a bulk jar of wettable powder that you measured out with a measuring scoop. That jar has been continued. The Demon WP envelopes contain the same product but comes in pre-measured packets that you drop into your spray tank. The packet is soluble in water and when the packet disintegrates it releases the wettable powder into the spray tank. Same product, no measuring required now. 

The 1 lb. jars of Demon WP Insecticide were discontinued by the EPA.  It is only available in the envelope now.

No, Demon WP Insecticide cannot be applied to any type of furniture.

You would want to make sure the area you are treating with Demon WP Insecticide is clean and completely dry before applying the product.

You should not apply Demon WP when you are experiencing any freezing temperatures per the product label.

Demon WP will kill any june bugs or beetles that land on or crawl over a treated surface its been applied to. June bugs and other similar pests like Japanese Beetles, are part of the grub life cycle. The best way to prevent June bugs and beetles is to treat for grubs twice a year to control as many as possible before they emerge from the soil and complete their life cycle as a beetle. Demon Max is made by the same company that makes Demon WP and they both contain the same active ingredient just different formulations.  The main difference is Demon Max can be used as a termiticide to treat and protect homes against termites and can be used for general pests.  Demon WP is more for general insect control inside and outside homes. 

You should wait at least 24 hours before wetting down the patio. If you scrub the patio you will remove the Demon WP residual and will only have limited results.

Demon WP like any other product we sell is very safe as long as you follow the application instructions.  When you mix Demon or any other product on our site with water, the solution is only strong enough to kill small insects.  It would be advised to not apply where your daughter will come in contact with it easily.  First off, 99%  of all bugs come from outside so you should apply most of your product around the outside perimeter of the house where you do not have to worry about your daughter coming close to it.  Inside, you should apply the product in cracks and crevices, underneath and behind appliances, window sills, where pipes go into the walls underneath sinks and behind toilets, etc....places that are hard for your daughter to get to.

Termidor SC cannot be sprayed over an entire yard. According to the Termidor SC product label, Termidor can only be applied on and within one foot of the structures foundation. Demon WP can be used to treat the crazy ant infestation in the yard. You should try to treat the colony or nesting site directly. Crazy Ant mounds are not readily visible above ground. Possible nesting sites for Crazy Ants include: soil beneath landscape timbers, logs, mulch firewood and other debris. Crazy Ants may also nest inside rotting wood and tree holes. As long as you read and follow the Demon WP product label there should be no health or safety issues for a pregnant woman or anyone else. Only people that are applying the products should be present at the time of the treatment, and all other adults, children and pets should be out of the room. Everyone can re-enter the treated room as soon as the area is dry and the room has been vented, which usually takes about an hour.

Demon WP is not specifically labeled for spider mites but it is labeled for mites in general and may work for spider mites. Most folks choose a product such as Talstar P as it is labeled for spider mites and is known to be gentle on plants.

These products should not be mixed together. There is no valid reason to mix Demon WP/Cyper WP and Talstar P/Bifen IT together.  Talstar P/Bifen IT is a synthetic pyrethroid and Demom WP/Cyper WP already contains a synthetic pyrethroid, so there would be nothing to gain by mixing these products together. Making a pesticide too strong can actually backfire. Areas that are treated with this overly concentrated spray will be repellent and insects will simply avoid the treated areas prolonging the infestation.

Demon WP CANNOT be used on animals of any kind. We do carry spot on flea and tick called Prefurred products if needed.

Demon WP is not recommended for bird/rodent mites because it is not labeled for mites and also because it can not be broadcast sprayed. Below you will find out best recommendations for bird/rodent mites control:

It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with bird mites. Have the suspected bird mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. Treatment for say bedbugs is much different than the treatment for bird mites.  If you do indeed have bird mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a bird nest or a dead bird on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use MotherEarth Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

Yes, Demon WP will kill kudzu bugs that contact areas that are treated with the product.

It is perfectly normal to keep seeing fleas for several weeks after the initial treatment. This is because of the natural life cycle of the flea and you are now seeing newly hatched fleas. Most folks find they have to do between 2-4 treatments to get rid of the fleas for good. We do not recommend using Demon WP indoors for flea control as it is not labeled for broadcast sprays indoors.

All animals must be removed from the room prior to treatment with any pesticide and they can be safely return after the product has dried completely.

Demon Wp will work great in treating scorpions! If you are using the packets you want to use 2 packets per gallon of water and spray the perimeter of the structure 2-3 feet up and 2-3 feet out as well as indoors cracks and crevices.

Demon Max will absolutely work! You want to miz 1/2 fl oz into 1 gallon of water.
