    Q
Is Demon WP better than pesticides at Lowes?
I have been told that water soluable pesticides dry up quickly and then are no longer effective
    A
Demon WP is a great product and is a professional strength product that will last about 1 month outdoors and about 3 months indoors. It does typically take up to 24 hours for insects to die after contacting treated areas. We do not have a way to compare it to products at Lowes as we are not sure what they carry.

    Q
I sprayed Demon WP in my kitchen where the roaches are the worst.
I have taken everything out of cabinets, is it ok to put the plates, food, etc. back in the cabinets once it dries. Or should I wait til it dries then wipe it up and then put it back?
    A
Once Demon WP is dry, is it okay to put your belongings back into the cabinets. Depending on how thoroughly you sprayed the cabinets and how much residue is left behind - It is up to you if you want to wipe it out as well before replacing your belongings.

    Q
Can you tell me what I need to get rid of wasps and spiders from my shed?
The shed is a radio tower. It has electronics but I want to bomb the place and then make sure no wasps or black widows ever return.
    A
Demon WP is one of our most popular insecticides for the treatment of spiders and it is also labeled for wasps. You will mix two scoops (or two packs if purchasing the envelope) from the one pound jar to one gallon of water in a one gallon pump sprayer. It will have an outdoor residual for a month and an indoor residual for three months. It is important to treat outdoors so that they do not continue to enter the structure. Please click on the product label for specific instructions on application.

    Q
After Talstar P dries, will it affect the dog if he licks the treated area?
    A
Talstar P is safe for people and pets after the treated area has dried. After Talstar is diluted, there is only a large enough amount of active ingredient to kill small insects.

    Q
Can I use Demon WP right after a treatment of Termidor?
We bought Termidor last summer after an exterminator couldn't wipe out our any problem after 3 visits in one month. It worked great and we've used it again twice since, once in fall and once a week ago (May). No ants, yay. BUT... We have a good amount of silverfish still and the worst of the worst: centipedes! Lots of them. Today alone I found 3, and not just in the basement. So anyway, this Demon product gets good reviews for centipedes. And it doesn't sound as scary to use as the Termidor -- I like that we can use it inside as well as out-- but can I overlap the two? Demon inside and out, so soon after Termidor outside?
    A
We would not recommend using the Demon WP after the Termidor SC nor would you want to. Termidor SC is a non-repellent product that works with a delayed reaction time and a transfer effect to help kill off colonies of social insects such as ants. Termidor SC also has a very limited label that only allows you to use it on or immediately adjacent to a structure. Demon WP on the other hand is a broadly labeled synthetic pyrethroid that will kill the insects that walk over treated surfaces. If you use the two together you will be losing the non-repellent factor and transfer effect of the Termidor SC.  Termidor is labeled for centipedes and silverfish it will just take longer to kill them.  You could use the Demon WP on the inside and the Termidor outside though and many customers choose to do just that.

    Q
I want to spray outdoors and indoors, but I have a dog in the house. What product is safe to to both jobs?
    A
Demon WP is an excellent product for indoor and outdoor use. However, it does leave a powdery residue because it is a wettable powder.

If you are looking to a general pesticide spray, we would recommend Bifen IT. It is an amazing insecticide that is good for various pests, such as spiders, roaches, mosquitoes, etc. It can be sprayed indoors along the baseboards and cracks and crevices. Outdoors it can be sprayed around the perimeter of your home, on ornamentals and trees as well. This is not labeled for edibles. It is also safe once it is dry and dries clear so your pet will not see it. Mopping or getting where you sprayed wet does not affect the product.

  • Asked by Gary from Scottsboro, Al

    Q
Is Demon WP okay to use on carpet?
I wanted to to know if it was okay to get some on the carpet that meets the baseboards? Since its a wet able powder didn't know if it would clump up or anything!
    A
Demon WP is only labeled to be used as a crack and crevice treatment along the baseboards. If you have the option use a pin stream setting on your sprayer, you should get a direct stream and it would not spray on the carpet areas. It is possible it will leave some white residue on the carpet but we have not heard of any clumping. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Q
Is Demon WP safe for pet snakes after it dries?
Can you put their enclosures near application areas after it dries?
    A
When used as directed Demon WP would be safe.  Demon WP should only be applied to cracks and crevices, along baseboards etc.  Just putting the enclosure near these areas would not pose harm to the snake.  Pets should be out of the treatment area until dry.

  • Asked by Tina from Beaumont, Tx

    Q
Will Demon WP kill Crazy/Raspberry Ants?
I'm tired of these ants. They're taking over our house (mostly outside, thankfully). Ortho spray will kill them, but more appear than you've actually killed. There's not enough spray for all of these ants.De
    A

While Demon WP is labeled for ants, it will only kill the ants that contact a treated surface and you can continue to see them eve after treatment.   Demon WP can be used to treat the crazy ant infestation in the yard. You should try to treat the colony or nesting site directly. Crazy Ant mounds are not readily visible above ground. Possible nesting sites for Crazy Ants include: soil beneath landscape timbers, logs, mulch firewood and other debris. Crazy Ants may also nest inside rotting wood and tree holes. You can read our article on crazy ants for more treatment information: How to Get Rid of Crazy Ants.

  • Asked by Lisa from Houston

    Q
Should I use house cleanser before or after I spray Demon WP?
I usually spray Demon before and clean after; I was just wondering if this is the best way or should I clean first and spray after? I just feel like I should clean up afterwards cause I have small children and pets and I don't like to think of having bug spray dried to surfaces they touch.
    A

If you are cleaning after you spray then you are rendering the product ineffective as you are wiping up everything you just put down. You should be cleaning first and then spraying with the product lightly over the baseboards and areas you need to treat. Once the surfaces have dried completely it is not harmful to pets or children and they will not pick the chemical up on their bodies or be affected by it by crawling over it. Since Demon is a WP (wettable powder) and it dries with a powdery substance on the surface, you may want to think about swapping to something that dries clear and doesnt sit on the surface like the Demon does. Something like Temprid SC would be a great option for that for a variety of pests and is safe once dry as well.

    Q
Is it possible for Demon WP to make you sick when applying inside my home?
    A

When using insecticides, it is important that you use proper precautions, such as a respirator mask. Demon WP is a chemical and has the potential to be dangerous if the label is not followed properly. We would recommend contacting the manufacturer and/or Poison Control immediately if you feel as if something is not right.

    Q
Will Demon WP kill small rodents if sprayed directly on them or in their face?
    A

Demon WP is only labeled to be used as a crack and crevice treatment indoors and as a perimeter spray outdoors. Spraying rodents as you mentioned with Demon WP is off label, therefore we cannot advise the product being used in such a way.

We have many products that work great for rodent control such as glue boards, snap traps, rodenticides and bait stations. Please refer to our Rodent Control Page for the best products to eradicate rodents. If you have any additional questions, you may contact a representative at 1-866-581-7378 Mon - Fri 9am-5pm EST.

    Q
Is Demon WP safe around pregnant women?
    A

As long as you read and follow the Demon WP product label there should be no health or safety issues for a pregnant woman or anyone else. Only people that are applying the products should be present at the time of the treatment, and all other adults, children and pets should be out of the room. Everyone can re-enter the treated room as soon as the area is dry and the room has been vented, which usually takes about an hour.

  • Asked by Sarah from Andover, Mn
    04/24/2017
    Q
What is the best way to prevent paper wasps from nesting under our deck?
We had a huge paper wasp infestation underneath the crevices of our deck last summer/fall. We endured it until the first hard frost when they all died, and then we went in and scraped out all the little nests they made throughout the summer. Wanting to do a preventative spray to prevent nests this coming summer.
    A

Demon WP would be a good option for you.  This is a wettable powder that you mix with water and apply using a hand pump sprayer. It works great for flying insects like wasps. You can spray the underside of the deck with the mixed solution.  This will not repel the wasps, but when they land on the surface they should pick up the product and die within a few hours.  Demon WP can also be used as a perimeter spray around the house.  You may also want to take a look at our article on How to Get Rid of Wasps for more information on treating and preventing wasps.
