Per the Fahrenheit Herbicide product label, a mixing test using a quart glass jar or similar container is encouraged to identify compatibility when using adjuvants, fertilizers, or other tank-mix partners. Mix in the same ratio as would be used in the spray tank. Indications of incompatibility will occur usually within 5-15 minutes of mixing. Make sure to follow label precautions and directions when tank-mixing different active ingredients.
Fahrenheit Herbicide is not labeled to be used around ornamentals, landscape beds, flowers, etc for weed control therefore would not be recommended to use around heliconia plants.
We would recommend hand pulling weeds or carefully spot treat weed directly with a non selective herbicide such as Roundup QuickPRO. Non chemical methods for weed control is to apply a thick layer of organic mulch around the base of the plant, which helps suppress weed growth while also retaining moisture in the soil.
Consult your County Cooperative Extension Office for their recommendations on weed control around heliconia plants.
When tank mixing Fahrenheit Herbicide with other herbicides, it is recommended to do a small compatibility test first before mixing in a sprayer. Per the product label: A mixing test using a quart glass jar or similar container is encouraged to identify compatibility when using adjuvants, fertilizers, or other tank-mix partners. Mix in the same ratio as would be used in the spray tank. Indications of incompatibility will occur usually within 5-15 minutes of mixing. Fahrenheit Herbicide is not labeled for cool season turfgrasses including Kentucky Bluegrass to control poa annua. For poa annua, we would recommend making a fall pre-emergent application (if you will not be overseeding), you can use Pendulum 2G. Because poa annua is technically a cool season grass as well, the only option you really have is to use a non-selective herbicide, like Roundup QuickPro to make spot applications and reseed those areas.
You can also review our Poa Annua Treatment Guide.
In general, you want to apply Fahrenheit Herbicide when rainfall is not expected within 24 hours.
Quali-Pro Fahrenheit Herbicide is labeled to control Virginia Buttonweed in turfgrass areas however should not be applied near ornamentals or where roots of ornamental plants, including shrubs, may extend.
Unfortunately, the best method for controlling Virginia Buttonweed in an around asian jasmine is by hand pulling young weeds or spot treating actively growing weeds with a non selective glyphosate herbicide like Roundup QuickPRO.
