    Q
Is my Carpet Beetle treatment working?
Since the discovery of my carpet beetle infestation, a little over a month ago, I have been treating every 2 weeks with Fenvastar with IGR added to it. I've sprayed, vacuumed, inspected, & ripped apart EVERY part of my home. When I 1st began treatment I found beetles, larvae & lots & lots of cast skins but since then I haven't really found any of that except for 2/3 beetles the day before my 2nd treatment & 3 beetles the day I did the 3rd treatment. But the damage to my furniture, rugs & clothing have absolutely skyrocketed!! At first I thought it was because I was just more aware of the whole situation so that's why I was noticing it more, but now that I just finished my 3rd treatment (& have trimmed/cleaned up the damaged things along the way) I am still finding all new damage but with NO evidence of any larvae. Am I missing something/somewhere while treating? (Keep in mind I have vacuumed & sprayed every possible place I read where they like to go & any other places I can think of (Their cast skins were in some pretty strange places).. Including inside all upholstered furniture, mattress & box spring & underneath all rugs) Or is this normal? & if so when can I expect to finally get some relief from these pests? I am afraid to let ANYTHING out of a plastic bag or sealed container. And it seems that no item (natural or synthetic) is safe. There is visible damage to everything and anything. I vacuum thoroughly every single day and have washed & dried every article of clothing I own at least a dozen times. I am physically & mentally exhausted! I've found hundreds of articles & information online about carpet beetle identification, treatment & control but nothing about what to expect before, during and after.... Am I doing it all wrong or does this sound like a typical infestation that will be fixed with time?? Also I recently read somewhere that if you wash your clothes w/Borax & the larvae eat it they will die... is there any truth to this because I saw 1 lonely article about it & that was it. Thank you sooo much for ANY help you can lend to ending this nightmare!
    A
It does not sound like you are doing anything wrong. It does take quite some time to fully eradicate carpet beetles. This is because the life cycle has to be stopped. That is done through the efforts you are making vacuuming daily, treating every two weeks, using an IGR. Alot of times if items are too infested or damaged, it requires discarding those items to help eradicate the beetles. You may also want to think about using a dust like Delta Dust to apply in wall voids such as outlets, light switches, cracks and crevices, where a liquid cannot be used. We recommend to keep checking to see if you are missing larvae somewhere. Check in corners of drawers, closets, if your carpet can be pulled up at the corner check there. Q
Do I have to spray everything in the apartment with FenvaStar EcoCap in order to kill all of the adults and the eggs?
I don't know where the bugs go after they have eaten. I'm just seeing them crawling all over the walls.
    A

You did not mention which pest you are treating for. FenvaStar EcoCap is a residual product. It may take some time to work as it is not a contact killer. Indoors, FenvaStar EcoCap should only be applied to baseboards, cracks and crevices, and listed areas on the product label. If you feel you must spray the carpets, Fenvastar is labeled to be used as a broadcast spray over carpeted areas. FenvaStar EcoCap will not kill egg masses as they are protected, and it is not a contact kill.

    Q
    Fleas residual with FenvaStar EcoCap
So I sprayed Fenvastar EcoCap, Tekko, and CxciteR all over my house because I only have one room with carpet and the rest are either vinyl hardwood or ceramic tile. Does the Fenvastar work as a residual to kill adult fleas once dried? We had a massive infestation which is dwindling but I still am seeing adults here and there. We put our dog to sleep 8 weeks ago and it seems like these adults just won't stop. I even hired a pest control company who soaked my house with Cy-Kick and they came roaring back about a week later that's when I turned to you guys and your recommendation of the kit for flea control.
    A

FenvaStar EcoCap has about a 90 day residual inside but when you are treating for fleas you should be treating every 2 weeks with it and vacuuming every day or at least every other day.  We have a guide here that can explain.

    Q
I'm looking for a professional product with IGR to mix in my pump sprayer for fleas.
Need flea killer that has IGR in it
    A

We do offer FenvaStar EcoCap or Onslaught that can be mixed with an IGR for flea treatments inside.  We also offer aerosols that also contain an IGR that work very well and quicker than liquids inside, such as the Alpine Flea and Bedbug Aerosol. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Fleas for more information.

    Q
Is FenvaStar EcoCap a repellent insecticide?
    A

FenvaStar EcoCap does not “repel” insects in the sense as most “repellents” are thought to do. Insects will still be able to come in contact with the residual and eventually succumb to the effect of it.

    Q
Has anyone used FenvaStar EcoCap for roaches?
    A

Roach control requires multiple efforts including multiple products for eradication. FenvaStar EcoCap is labeled for roaches and should be tank mixed with an IGR such as Gentrol. We do also recommend applying a professional bait gel in areas where you are not spraying or dusting. Dusting the wall voids is also a great option for better control. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for a successful eradication program.

    Q
Does the FenvaStar EcoCap burn the plants?
I have a 30gallon sprayer with 120psi I would like to do flea control and mosquito control. Products in the past burn my shrubs and certain sensitive trees. I'm looking for a good product to treat exterior during sunny days.
    A

According to the manufacturer and the product label, certain plants may be sensitive to the final spray solution of FenvaStar EcoCap. A small-scale test is recommended to verify safety to ornamental plants. Spray and observe for one (1) week prior to application of an entire planting. It is a good idea to cover the plants or ornamentals before spraying around that area. The Tempo SC Ultra is not for use on plants being grown for sale or other commercial use.

    Q
Will Fenvastar EcoCap kill gypsy moth egg masses?
The egg masses I can see and reach I have been slicing them with my box cutter blade then giving them a good soaking with the Fenvatar solution (1oz per gallon mix). Is there any effectiveness in what I am doing or am I just wasting my product? Probably sliced and soaked 100 egg masses today.
    A

FenvaStar EcoCap will not kill egg masses as they are protected and it is not a contact kill.  Once the caterpillar hatch and crawl across a treated area they would be killed.

    Q
Will Fenvastar EcoCap kill the Bougainvillea Looper in Southern California?
Does anyone have experience with using this product to control loopers- especially bougainvillea loopers? Is there another product that would be better? If we apply FenvaStar, should it be mixed with an IGR for this application? We have had limited success with applying imidacloprid both as a leaf spray and as a soil application. BT and Spinosad have not worked either.
    A

We typically recommend Spinosad for looper control as it is highly effective against the adults and young larvae Customers have had great success when plants are treated as needed with the adequate amount of coverage. However, Fenvastar EcoCap is labeled for looper control as well but unfortunately, we have not heard any feedback from customers using Fenvastar Eco Cap on Bougainvillea to control loopers and we are also not aware of any IGR on the market that is labeled for loopers. Be sure to read and follow the label instructions and if we can help further please let us know.

    Q
I live in Az . I want to kill all pests, including scorpions and cockroaches. Is Fenvestar ok to use monthly?
    A
Fenvastar can be used monthly for general pest control in AZ. It is microencapsulated, which makes for a longer lasting residual and easier for pest to pick up on their bodies. You can reapply every 14-30 days indoors and out.

    Q
Can you spray plum trees with FenvaStar EcoCap
    A
FenvaStar EcoCap cannot be applie to edible vegetation. What exactly are you treating for? Depending on what you are treating for, you can use Malathion on Plum Trees.  You should apply at a rate of 2 tablespoons per gallon of water.  Typically Malathion will last for 30 days before it needs to be re-applied.  You should not apply this product within 2 weeks of harvesting.

    Q
Can I spray FenvaStar on pantry shelves to help control Indian meal moths?
    A
FenvaStar EcoCap is labeled to be applied to cracks and crevices including cabinets. We do recommend that you clean out all the food that could potientially contain larvae, wipe down the cabinets with hot soapy water and apply a crack and crevice application for treatment. We also carry ProPest Traps that will impede the life cycle by trapping the adult males.
