We recommend this package of ferti•lome WINTERIZER because a fall feeding can help prevent winter damage to lawn grasses, and you do not lose as many valuable trees, shrubs, ornamentals and evergreens due to hazards of a cold winter.
TREES:
It is very important to fertilize your trees. Well-fed trees not only grow faster and develop into better shade trees, but well-fed trees normally are not damaged as extensively by tree borers and other insects as poorly fed trees. Fertilize your trees by applying 1 lb. of ferti•lome WINTERIZER for each inch of trunk diameter. Apply to ground out under the widest spread of branches. Water thoroughly.
SHRUBS, ORNAMENTALS, EVERGREENS:
Apply ferti•lome WINTERIZER by sprinkling a light coating on ground out under the widest spread of branches at the rate of 1 cup to 3 ft. plant; larger or smaller plants in proportion. Water thoroughly.
ROSES, AZALEAS, CAMELLIAS AND GARDENIAS:
Ferti•lome WINTERIZER can be used for the fall feeding of Roses, Azaleas, Camellias and Gardenias by following the directions listed above for shrubs. Water thoroughly.
CAUTION: DO NOT OVER APPLY NEAR SHRUBS AND TREE TRUNKS.
NOTE: Not recommended for container grown plants!

As usual, delivery was prompt. Product received in good condition. However, disappointed in the uniformity of the pellet size. There were occasional oversized pieces that had a tendency to jam the discharge gate on the spreader. As a result, there were many times when the gate should have closed but remained open, causing excess product to continue to spill out. Unfortunately, this condition cannot be observed with a full hopper. As a result, the coverage fell short of the mfg. recommendation.

Yes, as long as you follow the label instructions of Ferti-Lome Winterizer for Established Lawns 10-0-14 it can be safe for pets. In general, keep pets out of the treatment area until the application is dry.

Ferti-Lome Winterizer for Established Lawns 10-0-14 is labeled for use in Lawns, trees, shrubs, ornamentals, evergreens, roses, azaleas, camellias, and gardenias. You would not be able to apply in any edible gardens.
