Activating Gentrol Point Source is as simple as squeezing the raised end of the plastic, adhesive-back device. This releases Gentrol IGR onto a filter paper. From there, it moves up to 75 square feet, damaging adult roaches and preventing them from reproducing.
Gentrol Point Source covers about 75sq feet. Although, it should not harm the fish or bearded dragon, we recommend to use this product in a space not near the fish tank or bearded dragon.
Neither Gentrol Point Source or any other IGR on the market will stop the reproductive cycle of spiders. You will just need to spray diligently with spider control insecticides in areas they would harbor.
Yes, Gentrol Point Source can safely be applied to areas like closets or cabinets.
Assuming you are treating for roaches, we would recommend that you treat with Temprid SC to the cracks and crevices when the children are not in the area during application and allow to completely dry. Once dry it is safe. The Gentrol Point Source stations can be safe if activated and applied in the cabinets up high out of their reach (also better for roach control). If treating smaller roaches, you could adhere the pre-baited Maxforce FC Roach Bait Stations to the insides of the back of the cabinets and underneath sinks and they will not be able to access the product. Please let us know if you need anything else. I have included some helpful information below.
We have not heard of this occurring with Gentrol Point Source. We recommend that you contact poison control and/or seek medical attention. Here is the SDS for the product.
Gentrol Point Source is not labeled for treatment of bed bugs, it is only labeled to treat roaches and pantry pests. However, we do sell the Gentrol IGR in the liquid form in all of our Bed Bug Kits and the liquid IGR is labeled for treatment of bed bugs.
No Gentrol Point Source will not keep the bedbugs or instars from feeding. It is an insect growth regulator that will only effect their reproductive systems, not their feeding habits.
Gentrol Point Source is released into the air at around a 75 square foot radius of the disc. Since it is airborne, it does have the risk of traveling more than 75 square feet. Additionally, air vents and air recirculation would be a concern in your particular situation as well. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer, Zoecon, for further advice. They can be reached at 1-800-877-6374.
The tape can be used if you’re affixing the Gentrol Point Source disc to a vertical surface. You would peel away the protective backing on the tape to expose the sticky surface of the tape.
Each Gentrol Point Source station will cover about 75 sq feet.
Gentrol Point Source vapors can spread up to 75 sq.ft. but are best applied in areas you have actually seen activity so are you not just wasting product.
Gentrol Point Source may be used in your kitchen. Exposed food is food that is out in the open and is not sealed in a container. You will keep the device itself a minimum of 3 feet away from any exposed food. Please review the product label for more information about this product.
Gentrol Point Source is not an insecticide, therefore it will not directly kill mealworms, roaches or any other insects. Since mealworms are an immature stage of an insect, though, we recommend you keep the Point Source Stations out of the area where the worms are bred. Keep in mind that each Point Source Station treats up to 75 square feet.
Gentrol IGR is not labeled to be applied to flowers or plants, so it would not be recommended to do so. It is really only a crack and crevice treatment as directed on the product label. We are not aware of the effects it would have on plants, but you can contact the manufacturer directly for further information. Zoecon can be reached at 800-877-6374. Gentrol also would not be photostable outdoors, although we do carry other IGRs that are labeled for use outdoors.
