Gentrol IGR is not labeled to be applied to flowers or plants, so it would not be recommended to do so. It is really only a crack and crevice treatment as directed on the product label. We are not aware of the effects it would have on plants, but you can contact the manufacturer directly for further information. Zoecon can be reached at 800-877-6374. Gentrol also would not be photostable outdoors, although we do carry other IGRs that are labeled for use outdoors. We can assist you with choosing an appropriate product for your needs; you may call our Customer Service staff at 866-581-7378 M- F 9a-5p EST.

Gentrol Point Source will not aid in control of fruit flies. It is imperative that you identify and remove the source of the infestation, and continue using traps to catch the adult flies. Gentrol Aerosol is a great choice for an IGR for fruit fly control.
The vapors from the Gentrol Point Source Stations will not affect your child if they are crawling in the area in which they have been placed. Also, the product does not contain any type of poison, so it will not harm the child if they place any of the toys in their mouth. When used as labeled, the product does not pose any threats to pets or people in the home.
Gentrol Point Source Stations do not have any kind of attractant in them. Once activated, each Point Source Station releases the Insect Growth Regulator slowly over 90 days, treating up to 75 square feet. If you stopped using other products and you are still seeing roaches, that would explain a potential increase since you are no longer controlling the adult insects with just the IGR. You do not need to continue using the Gentrol Point Source Stations for roaches if you are no longer finding any roaches in the area.
Birds are highly sensitive to products so we are unsure of any negative impact the Gentrol Point Source may have on them. In general, the ingredient in Gentrol is only designed to target the juvenile growth hormone found specifically in insects, and not in other animals/mammals. We would recommend that you contact the manufacturer Zoecon directly at 925-948-4000 or a bird specialist/vet before using.
A roach control treatment will depend on the level of activity you have. Gentrol Point Source Stations can last and be replaced every three months. Advion Cockroach Bait Gel will need to be applied fresh every 2 to 3 weeks and we do recommend to rotate to a different bait gel at least every three months. We also recommend spraying with Temprid FX on baseboards, cracks and crevices, this and the bait gel could kill a roach within approximately 72 hours or so. Please take a few minutes to review the article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for placement options and more tips
There is no mention on the product label that prohibits the use of all 20 Gentrol Point Source stations in one area but there generally is no need to do so. Each station covers an area of 75 square feet and will last up to 3 months. If you need more information, you can contact the manufacturer at 1-800-248-7763.
Inside the raised portion of the disc is a tiny vial with a few drops of the active ingredient inside. Once that section has been crushed and the vial is broken open to release the formula, it will slowly move onto the filter paper between the flat portions of the plastic. The liquid volume is tiny, only about a 1 ml of soluion, so the filter paper will not look soaked or even heavily wet. If you hold the disc up to light for a few moments, you may see a very slight color change that is visible once the Gentrol Point Source discs are activated and it may slowly spread over more surface of the pad as time goes by. The vapor from the drops is slowly released over time and will remain effective for 90 days. One disc should be used every 75 sq ft of treatment area.
Please view the product label for more information and instructions on how to activate this discs.
If you are experiencing any issues, please let us know the lot number of the box that you received, and we will report this to the manufacturer and move forward with a solution for you.
Yes, we recommend you use Gentrol Point Source stations should be placed in specific areas of activity which may include cabinets, closets, pantries, drawers, refuse areas, electrical boxes, equipment, false ceilings, and around doors, expansion joints, pipe chases, dressers, windows, heating and air conditioning ducts, refrigerators, and voids where pests are active. After activation, each station will remain active for up to 90 days. For easy maintenance, each station has a diagram where the month activated can be marked. The IGR helps to keep target insect populations under control, which is especially useful in areas where conventional sprays and foggers are not appropriate or where baits are less effective due to competing food sources. Gentrol Point Source helps to achieve more rapid results than using adulticides alone since surviving insects are not able to re-establish the population.
No, using pure essential peppermint oil in diffusers will not interfere with Gentrol Point Source Stations.
When using Gentrol Point Source in cabinets where food is stored, any opened boxes or packages containing food would need to be placed in a sealed containter or bag while the discs are located in the cabinet.
Gentrol Point Source disrupts the life cycle of roaches in the egg and larvae stages of development preventing them from maturing into reproducing adults. They will not mature to the adult stage to be able to lay eggs.
The stored pantry pests referred to on the Gentrol Point Source label include the red, confused flour and merchant beetles, ants are not on the label. Our ?Indoor Ant Kit? would help cover the ants dietary needs of sugar and protein, as well as an insecticide you can spray around baseboards, cracks, crevices and any other entry points including under the kitchen sink. We also have a great Ant Treatment Guide that can help guide you to effectively get rid of these ants.
Gentrol Point Source is not labeled for bed bugs unfortunately. If you would like to continue using an IGR then you would need to continue using Gentrol IGR Concentrate. It is the only IGR labeled for bed bugs.
