    Q
For the Gentrol Point Source when it states coverage as 75 sq ft, does the height of the room matter?
    A

According to the product label, you want to place one GENTROL POINT SOURCE device to treat up to a 75 square foot area surrounding it, but you want to pay particular attention to locations of roach or SPP activity. More devices may be needed in areas with a heavy roach infestation.

    Q
Is there a correct up/down position when placing Gentrol Point Source on a wall vertically?
When placing the point source on a vertical wall, which position should the ampule be? Should it be at the top or at the bottom? I think if the ampule is at the bottom the chemical will release slower. I think if the ampule is at the top the chemical will release more effectively?
    A

There is no correct up or down position when placing the Gentrol Point Source station on the wall vertically.

    Q
Does the Gentrol Point Source actually attract roaches or increase sightings when fresh ones are placed?
After sealing my house up fairly well from the attached neighbors, and seeing no activity for a month or so, I stopped baiting with Advion but continued to deploy the Point Source discs. I seem to notice more activity (1 or 2) when fresh point sources are placed in my kitchen. Does the point source actually attract roaches to them? And if I see no activity via sticky traps should I stop deploying them?
    A

Gentrol Point Source Stations do not have any kind of attractant in them. Once activated, each Point Source Station releases the Insect Growth Regulator slowly over 90 days, treating up to 75 square feet. If you stopped using other products and you are still seeing roaches, that would explain a potential increase since you are no longer controlling the adult insects with just the IGR. You do not need to continue using the Gentrol Point Source Stations for roaches if you are no longer finding any roaches in the area.

    Q
Can I put the Gentrol Point Source near where I spray the Temprid FX insecticide?
Will that taint the point source like the baits? How far should I spray away from the point source? And is it absolutely necessary to place them higher? Can I move these once I've placed them on something?
    A

You may place the Gentrol Point Source near areas where you have sprayed the insecticide. It will not taint the product as long as you are following the instructions on the product label. We do recommend placing the discs somewhere up higher so that the product can slowly drift down through the air providing more coverage. Technically, the stations can be moved after placing, yes, but, there is not really a need to move them once they have been place. 1 disc will cover up to 75 sq ft of open area and last up to 3 months.

    Q
Is Gentrol Point Source safe to use in conjunction with Nyguard & Onslaught?
Mild roach problem indoors and wanting to both treat that and at the same time avoid a flea infestation as I had a few years ago (an abundance of stray cats in the neighborhood). I was planning to spray the exterior and interior perimeter of my house with a mix of Nyguard IGR and Onslaught. Would it be useful and safe to set out these Gentrol Point Source stations afterward?
    A

Yes, while the NyGuard IGR in and of itself would work just fine on roaches as well as fleas, leaving no need for the use of the Gentrol Point Source, you can certainly place them within the home in areas you would like more reach of the growth inhibitor. This would be a completely safe application to do.

    Q
I'm using Advion bait arenas. Just got Gentrol Point Source and long does it take to work?
Will both of these products work to get rid of roaches? Do I need to get something else.
    A

Gentrol Point Source Stations will cause the roaches to become deformed. It also will prompt the females to prematurely lay their eggs (the eggs will also be affected by the product).  You should place a Gentrol Point Source disc in each room. For the kitchen area, you can use the sticky tabs included in the package and place the disc on the side or behind the fridge or place it to the side of the cabinets or pantry. You only need to keep the disc away from food prep areas not from stored food product. Gentrol Point Source should never be used to eliminate a roach population by itself.  Gentrol will not kill roaches...it only prevents them from reproducing.  You should use roach baits like the Advion Roach Bait Gel and roach sprays like the Cyzmic CS in conjunction with the Gentrol Point Source. Please take a moment to look at our Roach Control Kits.

    Q
We have many enclosed areas, do I need to use one Gentrol Point Source for each area?
I live on a boat. There are a lot of cabinets, spaces under floors, and storage under/behind couches. There is very little air circulation there, but bugs could crawl in. Should I put a disc in each space?
    A

Each Gentrol Point Source station will cover about 75 sq feet.  When finding out the area in which to use a Gentrol Point Source station, you need to figure out an area of 75 square feet. You can do that by measuring out an area of 7.5 feet by 10 feet and that's the area one station will cover.

    Q
Can the Gentrol Point Source be used in cabinets less than and under 3 feet from food preparation areas?
    A

Yes, applying Gentrol Point Source in an area such as in a closed cabinet would be appropriate in a smaller kitchen area.

Another option is using Gentrol Aerosol instead of the Point Source Stations since it is ready to use and can be applied directly to cracks and crevices.

    Q
When I cracked the Gentrol Point Source discs, there is no evidence of any liquid or chemical released, is this normal?
    A

There is no liquid, gel or substance that is visible once the Gentrol Point Source discs are activated. Once activated, the vapor is slowly released over time and will remain effective for 90 days. One disc should be used every 75 sq ft of treatment area.

Please view the product label for more information and instructions on how to activate this discs.

    Q
Is there a liquid in the small capsule to activate the Gentrol Point Source discs?
Ordered through Amazon and placed them out in December. When I break the small capsule to activate the disc, is there supposed to be a liquid or is it supposed to be dry? I have read reviews of customers receiving dry ones and didn't know if that affects the efficacy.
    A

Liquid should be dispersed when you press down on the lip of Gentrol Point Source to activate the vapor release disc. Typically it should remain somewhat wet but that will depend on the temperatures in the house. If the product you purchased appears dry we recommend contacting the manufacture to make sure the product you received is not defective.

    Q
Will a molecule air filter for VOC's interfere with the efficacy of Gentrol Point Source?
The molekule air filters I use don't use carbon or HEPA, it is a different technology that can break down gases
    A

Traditional air purifiers would not impact the vapors emitted by Gentrol Point Source, as those filter types collect dust, bugs and debris from the air.  However, you may wish to contact the manufacturer Zoecon directly for clarification regarding the specific type of filter you are referring to, as we are not familiar.

Zoecon can be reached for product support by either calling 1-800-248-7763, or by visiting their website's contact page.

Would Gentrol Point Source be effective in a vehicle?
    A

Gentrol Point Source is labeled for use in various modes of transportation including but not limited to aircraft, buses, trucks, trailers, rail cars, and marine vessels. Keep in mind, insect growth regulators do not kill insects but only prevent their growth cycle and reproduction.

Depending on the insects you are targeting, additonal products will be needed.

    Q
Can Gentrol Point Source be used within 3 feet of the stove top?
The instructions say to keep the discs at least 3 feet away from exposed food. Can a disc be placed on the wall behind a stove used for cooking? I've noticed pest activity on the wall behind the stove. I'd like to place a disc there, so that the IGR can seep down behind the stove. However, if I place a disc on the wall, and then cook on the stove top, the disc would be within 3 feet of the food being cooked. Under these circumstances, does placing a disc on the wall pose any health hazards?
    A

Gentrol Point Source may be used in your kitchen. Exposed food would be fruit or vegetables that are kept on counters and not sealed in a container. You will use 1 disc per 75 sq ft of the room being treated therefore this allows options for disc placement that ahere with the 3ft away from exposed food recommendation per the product label.

Please review the product label for more information about this product.
